I have 4 gt radial champiro touring as 205/60r-16. They have all formed large cracks along the lower sidewall. The tires were installed 1. 5 years ago. I feel that these tires are unsafe and at risk for a blowout. I cannot drive the vehicle due to these tires. The dot # is y9j5crvx4115 on all 4 tires. These are structural cracks not cosmetic.

On returning from mpls. To milw. I stopped at a rest stop half way. When continuing the trip I noticed a thumping sound at about 50 mph. I stopped at the nextrest stop and noticed the sidewall of the left front tire was starting to open, exposing the inner wall. I replaced the tire. Two weeks later it happened again on the right front tire when driving on i94 in milwaukee.

I had 4 bridgestone potenza re960as pole position size 215/50r17 tires installed in may of 2008 on my 2002 Acura Tl type s vehicle. Two separate defects. 1. I was forced to replace one tire in January of 2010. I replaced the defective tire under road hazard insurance due to a defect in the sidewall. 2. On February 3, 2011 I had a catastrophic tire failure on interstate 64 in st. Louis. The tire didn't just blow out, it had full tread separation. The highway was clear of all snow and slush in the location where the failure occurred. My estimated speed was 50 mph at the time of the failure. The outside temperature was 9 degrees above zero. I was not in a turn, and did not hit any road hazards. The tires on my vehicle were inflated properly. The shop reported that the other tires had very even tire wear, suggesting that the wheels were aligned properly, the suspension was operating properly, and the tires were inflated properly. The resulting damage to my vehicle was severe damage to the left rear alloy wheel, the defective tire, and the need for a wheel alignment due to the car riding on the alloy wheel. I contacted bridgestone, and was given the runaround. The bottom line is that bridgestone did not want to help me in any way. The bridgestone lawyer told me on February 4, 2011, that they had already looked at the tire. I contacted the shop, and bridgestone did not look at the tire. I informed the lawyer that they could find the rest of my tire on top of a snow bank on I-64 between kingshighway and grand avenue. The tread was intact, and in one piece. She did not seem interested in seeing the tread, suggesting that bridgestone is not responsible enough to investigate problems on their own, and need a government watch dog to force them to look into defects. The blowout that I experienced would have likely caused an accident if it had happened on a front wheel. Please investigate these tires ASAP, as this is a very dangerous situation.

The contact owns a 2000 Acura Tl. The vehicle has sunny sun 3800 tires, size 225/40/zr18 (na). While driving approximately 30 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle began pulling in one direction. The driver pulled over to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle. He observed that the front driver's side tire exploded. In addition, the sidewall of the tire exhibited severe cracking. Roadside assistance was called to the scene and they replaced the tire with a spare. The vehicle resumed normal operation and was taken to an authorized tire shop. The technician stated that they were not responsible for the replacement of the defective tire and it was not in stock. The vehicle was taken to a different authorized tire shop for a second opinion and the technician stated that the defective compound contributed to the sidewall failure. The four tires were replaced at the contact's expense. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 171,000.
Forty eight days after purchasing a new set of pirelli p6 four season tires p235/45r17 for our 2004 Acura, my husband and I were crossing the chesapeake bay bridge, going approximately 35 miles an hour. About 3/4's of the way across the bridge, we heard a loud bang and the car instantly became more difficult to control. My husband was driving, and as there is no place to stop on the bridge, slowed down to a crawl and continued about a mile until he could safely pull over. There was nothing but the remains of sidewall on the rim. The police officer and the tow truck driver said they'd not seen anything like it but that we were correct in not stopping on the bridge. Upon research, we found that this complaint of a sudden blow-out has come up several times with this particular tire. I am glad that it did not happen at a higher speed or in a situation where the outcome could have been worse. As it was, we were just delayed on our trip by a few hours. Fortunately, the store where we purchased the tires a few weeks before (at almost $900. 00) replaced all four tires with yokohama, the brand that is original to our car. The car is dealer maintained and I am careful to check airpressure when I fill up the tank. At any rate, the sudden deflation was extraordinary, and as no other vehicles seemed to be having the problem, I doubt that there was something in the road that caused it. The tires only had 2,000 miles on them, and they had a 60,000 mile warranty. This was not a unique experience and I would hope that a recall is forthcoming before someone gets hurt or worse.
One of the tires has a sidewall bubble. I looked around on the internet and this seems to be a common problem with kumho tires. I went to the dealer we purchased the tires from and they said that I was the 4th person there that day with kuhmo tires that had sidewall bubbles. Also, the tires are wearing out much faster then they should be. Luckily I check our family tires once a month. If someone does not check them these sidewall bubbles could lead to a blowout and serious accidents. I believe there should be an investigation and recall of these kuhmo ecsta asx tires.
Four new p235/45zr17 pirelli pzero nero m&s tires purchased December 6, 2005 from tire rack. Have had 3 [so far] of those tires blow out: March 9, 2006 after 3,295 miles; may 30, 2006 after 5,536 miles; June 30, 2006 after 6,184 miles. (1) were told by tire rack and their installer that it was just bad luck. (2) tire rack said it could be an installation problem. Authorized pirelli dealer installers (not the ones who originally installed the tires) say it is impossible to install incorrectly and conclude it is bad luck. (3) authorized pirelli dealer says it could be that the valve stem has a tear at its base but denies any manufacturers defect. We are convinced we bought a bad run of these tires out of the italy plant before they stopped making them there.
Oem bridgestone turanza el42 tire disintegrated on drive side rear wheel of 2004 Acura Tl. Driving on highway at approx 55 mph. Vibration and then suddenly tire fell apart. Sidewall completely separated from bead. Tire size p235/45 r17.
: the contact stated while driving 65 mph, the sidewall separated from the tread on the front passenger tire. The contact then noticed a two inch crack on the driver side front tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and it was determined these were rated for 25,000 miles. The vehicle had 27,200 miles at time of failure. The tire line is 92354517el42.
In spring 2004 I purchased an Acura Tl with bridgestone turanza el 42 high performance tires. After 6,500 miles one of the tires had a flat. Although the garage attempted to repair the flat, it continued to lose air and I was informed that I needed a new tire. It seemed odd that a tire would not be reparable after that short a use, but I was advised that it had to do with the location of the puncture and was not a defect. In November of this year, after putting 14,500 miles on the car I had a more serious problem with another tire. On this occasion, while traveling at 65 miles per hour on an interstate highway, my car began to shake. I managed to pull over to the side of the highway and stop. The tire sidewall had disintegrated and was completely separated from the rim. The following day I took the tire into a firestone shop where the service manager, tom curry, advised me that the problem was due to a road hazard and was not a defect. He inspected the tire for a puncture, and after not finding one, assured me that it must have been in the disintegrated sidewall. I then asked him if he had ever seen a tire that was damaged in the absence of a road hazard, and he told me he had not. It is clear to me that these tires are defective and that bridgestone refuses to take responsibility for their products.

The majority of the owners of 2004 and newer Acura Tls know that there is an existing problem with the bridgestone turanza el42 tires that the vehicle is equipped with. There is an issue with vibration with these tires. In 2005, Acura started selling the Tl with michelin tires because of the complaints. Those of us who still have the bridgestones are still experiencing problems. Currently, my vehicle (2004 Tl) has cracking on the sidewalls of the tires now. I am required to fill it with air approximately every 2 or 3 days. I have contacted the dealership, they inspected the tires and acknowledged the cracks, and they refuse to do anything about it. They wanted me to handle the warranty claim with bridgestone and sent me off on my way, with a potentially unsafe vehicle. I have no doubt that a blowout of the tire is unpreventable and it's only a matter of time before it happens, but they do not care. I am suggesting that a recall be placed on the bridgestone el42 tires and that all Acura Tls with these tires be replaced with the michelin tires, which the current year Tls come equipped with.
I own a new Acura Tl which has bridgstone turanza el 42 235/45-17 tires as oem. From the beginning it became clear the tires are dangerous. They hydroplane on wet surfaces, skid easily on residual road sand. The right front and rear sidewalls failed--one with an egg shaped bubble and the other with a deep cut--despite no evidence that I struck a curb or pothole etc. Both tires were likely to blow out with continued driving. Surveys by tire rack indicate these tires are also very dangerous in the winter, which is about to happen here in the northeast where I live. These tires also "coldspot" after being parked for a while, sometime causing the car to steer poorly. The dealer could only replace the bad tires on a "road hazard" warranty, despite my many complaints to both Acura and the parent company Honda USA.
This complaint refers to the original equipment tires (bridgestone el-42, 235/45-17 93w ) supplied on the 2004 Acura Tl with 5 speed automatic transmission. After just a short time I have found this tire to be entirely unsafe and unsuitable to this vehicle. I believe that both Acura and bridgestone should be held responsible for replacing this tire on all existing vehicles. This tire exhibits unsafe characteristics in wet weather and on snow. At about 14,000 miles we just had a flat tire on a highway and when we took it for fixing we were told that the sidewall has collapsed (and looks like a bubble) and that we can no longer use it as it will explode. We must replace it after riding over a nail. We believe the sidewall should be reinforced more to withhold driving on a flat to safety without having to replace it. From a ride quality point of view the tire is also unsatisfactory in that it flat spots every morning, leading to vibrations during our drive. I also understand that there may be an issue regarding the rating as an "all season tire" with many owners reporting that this tire is virtually useless in any kind of snow conditions.
The rear passenger side tire went flat. There was no indication that it was flat. Consumer could not feel that the tire was flat. If he had driven another 20 miles on the highway the tire would have come off of the vehicle. Consumer was concerned because it could not be sensed from inside the vehicle. The tire went flat due to a nail puncture. The sidewall of the tire was worn. The consumer stated the tires are low profile tires.
Tire failure. Second tire failure on the same wheel, on the same side of the vehicle within 4 months of each failure.

Oem tires on 05 Acura Tl's at 5000 wet weather driving is downright dangerous. Driving in snow even when new was impossible. . Yet these tires are marked m/s all season. Dealers are aware but have no incentive to do anything about it. . . Except sell you a new set of tire for $800 we have had two very close calls in the rain are in the process of replacing tires at our expense before someone gets hurt. Rf tire has developed a major sidewall blister and was removed from service before catastrophic failure.
Faulty no bent or scratched on rim. Should be reimburse for tire. The vehicle tire had a rip in the inside wall. The consumer wanted to be reimbursed.
Michelin pilot performance tire - p215-50rit93b - dot b938cttx0301. These tires have had difficulty performing on the road casusing me to have two blowouts 8/03 and 1/04 with replacement of rim right front 2x in front and back right 6/04.
Two tire blow outs in 4 months. First tire had bubble caused by non level road surface which would not qualify as a divot or pothole. Second tire completely blew out after hitting rough road at 40-50 mph and caused damage to rim totaling over 1000 dollars. Completely inexcusable because tire pressure was adequate, car was serviced previous week and there were no defects at time of service.
Consumer felt that the tires on this vehicle were not the proper size. Consumer had to replace five front tires due to blow outs at the sidewalls.
Michelin tire on Acura Tl type s developed a bubble after about 10,000 miles. Originally accepted dealer's explanation that it came from hitting a pothole, but on line I discovered that many people had developed bubbles. I've attached a few comments from tirerack. Com. Are these tires safe? michelin pilot hx mxm4 - 2002 Acura 3. 2tl-s - vacaville, CA driving style: easy going - driving condition all highway - 2003-08-01 yesterday I was reading some posts online (Acura-tl. Com) about the Acura Tl type s and everyone was complaining about bubbles and sidewall blowouts in their oem tires. So I went and checked mine sure enough I have two tires with bubbles. I called two of my friends that have the same car both also have bubbles. Went to the Acura dealer to complain and saw two more customers cars with bubbles. Tires- michelin pilot hx mxm4 215/50 17. Had 2 tires that had to be replaced in the last 1000 miles because of sidewall bubbles. Told that it was caused by potholes and was not covered by warranity. I do not feel that I ran over any major potholes, and I feel small road cracks etc should not cause this.
While driving under icy road conditions the front passenger tire blew out. The consumer replaced the tire and 5 months later the replacement tire blewout. On the first incident, consumer noticed a bubble on the right rear tire sidewall. On the second incident, a bubble was also seen but this time it was located on the right front tire sidewall. On both incidents, both tires were replaced.
All four vehicle tires lost pressure while driving. While driving all four michelin tire lost tire pressure. Upon inspection the technician noticed a sidewall tear 1. 5 inch in length, perpendicular to tread. Inspection of the other three tires revealed that one other tire had a bulge in the sidewall about 2. 5 inches in diameter. (michelin pilot hxmxm4, dot# b938 cttx1102).
Tires- 4 tires in 3 months due to sidewall bubbles.
Tire experienced side wall bulge - ( bridgestone 205/60/r15 91a ).
