I've had multiple failures on this vehicle. First, the engine had a rod knock and Acura gave me a very hard time approving the repair and eventually replacement of the engine. Second, the adas system is not working and is a huge safety concern. I keep getting error messages that my road mitigation and lane keeping assist systems do not work. Third, the abs module system cannot communicate with my ecu and is not working properly. Another safety concern as this controls a lot of the wheel speed sensors, brakes, etc on this vehicle. A quick google search for Acura Tlx abs module repair will bring up pages and pages of people complaining about this very same problem yet Acura is not doing anything about it. This problem also affected other models such as the tsx, tl, rl, and the oddysey. I've taken my vehicle to several mechanics and they all state that this is a very common problem in Honda/Acura. I'm not sure how Honda/Acura can risk the lives of their customers in this way but it is not safe as this vehicle is my daily commuter that I use for my family.

My Tlx tech 2023 lost complete power while I pulled up to a busy intersection on a dark and rainy day. As a puled to stop and my idle stop enabled the car was fine. Once I tried to accelerate the car immediately went into park from drive. All of the controls started to blink and the car powered down like a computer system who was on 0%. I completely lost power, so that I could not even put my hazard lights on to indicate to the busy oncoming traffic that I was in danger. When the police arrived, he even tried to shift to neutral to help me roll out of the street, but the car was inoperable. I had to remain in the car due to the freezing rain and sleet. The emergency services called an emergency tow to get me out of the street and I was then towed to the nearest Acura dealership to get it reviewed. The service department indicated that they had known about the idle start/stop issue, but not on my specific model. I had my car inspected just the day before at the same dealership and there were no issues that had come up. I am concerned that this is very dangerous and leaves me in a vulnerable state.

While driving vehicle goes into neutral on its own and will not go back into drive for at least 30 mins.
My engine shuts off while idling, shifts into neutral automatically, and stalls when sitting at a light. This is a huge safety concern for me. My fuel pressure light and battery comes on when it shuts off.

The contact owns a 2017 Acura Tlx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle with the air condition activated the warning messages that included the braking system, lane departure, forward collision, transmission, etc. Had all displayed and the brakes had engaged although the brake pedal was not depressed. The contact indicated that that the failure would suddenly occur also while driving in a rain storm or on a humid weather day. The cause of the failures were not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

It has camera issues where moisture or liquid can go inside, and it is very hard to see when I backup. I have contacted the dealer bodyshop to fix it since they repaired my bumper, but they said it is not their fault and they want more than $1000 to replace it. I did some research online, and a lot of people are having the same issue with poor quality with this brand. I never had camera issues with other brands.
The idle stop feature on the vehicle will engage at a red light stop. Then, will fail to start the engine when the light turns green. You have to engage the car in park and then hit the engine start button. This is a safety hazard in traffic. It could result in an accident.

Driving on the highway during light rain. Applied 45%-65% throttle to pass. The check engine light began to flash and the car went into limp mode. Pulled over on the highway shut the vehicle down and restarted it 30 seconds later. Check engine light was gone, no longer in limp mode.

The emission system problem alarm and the electric parking brake problem alarm constantly comes in.
While driving approx 65 mph on a freeway the vehicle placed itself into neutral and decelerrated as multiple warnings flashed across dashboard. . . “emissions system problem”, “transmission system problem”, “electric parking brake problem”. I was able to pull off to the side of an exit ramp but once I put the car in park I could not shift into drive. I could not safely drive/manuever my vehicle to a safer area putting myself and child at risk of being hit. I turned the car on/off multiple times to attempt to shift into drive, but to no avail. I called the nearest Acura dealer which was in the next town over from where I was stranded. After many failed attempts I was able to put the car in drive and move my vehicle to the closest road and off to the side but with the warnings still flashing. The last successful attempt I was able to put the car in drive again and without any further warnings flashing on dashboard. Drove 20 minutes to the nearest Acura dealer and was charged $300 for the diagnosis and update of 3 systems. Informed dtc code p0657, actuator supply voltage circuit/open, was found prior to system updates: transmission control module update, pgm-fi update, and abs system update.
The car was in motion then shifted into a different gear . I didn’t have have control of the gears. A digital “check transmission” warning flashed on the car dashboard. After 2 hours I removed the terminal from the battery in order to move the car. The car stopped in the middle of the road during this problem. Someone could've hit me from behind with my children in the car . One car was close enough to hit me but ended up swerving into a ditch to avoid hitting my car . I spoke to marietta Acura dealership in GA and was told there was no recall on my car .
I have had, for years, idle stop/restart failures on my 2018 Acura Tlx, too many times to count. One time, I heard the screeching tires of a car behind me stopping to avoid rear-ending me, when the driver thought I was going to proceed through an intersection, only to have the car die. Another time, with my infant in the car, I was nearly t-boned when the car died failing to get through an intersection after a stop. I've taken the car in for service numerous times. Each time, they either couldn't find the problem, or told me I didn't drive it enough, or needed to keep it on a trickle charger, or that I needed a new battery. In June of 2022, I received a letter from Acura informing me to get a pgm-fi software update. I did. Last night, the car died attempting to restart on a freeway off ramp (which it has done previously as well I should add). I shouldn't have to explain how dangerous it is having a car die on a freeway off ramp. Acura - fail.
Alarm system goes off randomly. Alarm does not “beep” when you press the key fob. Hood latch sensor is the problem.
The defect with stalling after auto start continues even after Acura applied a software update. They refuse to complete second part of recall including starter replacement and valve adjustment as indicated on their attached letter. This negligence is a high risk of personal injury to my family and I.

First item: vehicle keeps shutting off during idle while parked or while brake is depressed. It has happened multiple times. I've done some research and see there are several sites indicating issues with the fuel pump and vehicle stalling. Acura says there are no current recalls. I'm not the only person this is happening to. Second issue: vehicle has gone into neutral on its own while driving. At first I thought maybe I hit the neutral button by mistake and didn't think of anything but then the most recent was coming out if a gas station and pulled up to a stop sign and it went into neutral. I just bought this car on June 1st.
This issue is with the start-stop system. The car fails to restart after it the car stops and the engine shuts off. The car has been serviced twice for this issue. The battery and a cable were replaced at my expense. This resolved the issue for a few months, but it returned again in February of 2022. The battery was replaced under warrantee at that time. This issue has now returned again July, 2022. In at least two of the instances I felt I was extremely at risk as the car was stalled in busy intersections forcing traffic to make emergency stops be hind me or take evasive actions to avoid hitting my car. The normal starting procedure to start the car did not seem to work. There was nothing to indicated to me that there was an issue.
I’m owner of a Acura model: txl year:2022, VIN: 19uub5f50na001275 I send my car after 7 days of purchase to the dealer because the car wasn’t started and all the dash light start blinking. Dealer said that this was not warranty cover because I tint the windshield and this create some humidity on the connector that go to the micu. I need that you please start looking this issue because in a lot of forums another people start getting the same electrical issue even without tint the windshield. My car was only 130 miles when go the dealers, and per my understanding this can’t be the issue because if we follow this excuse then we never can be do a detailing on the interior on the car or even to the dash because any product can be cause a humidity to the connector. Can you please verify if this statement is tru or not? because there is not or any disclaimer from Acura that for t:lx model you can tint the windshield.
Idle stop does not restart car & is difficult to restart since car remains in drive after restart fails. A recall notice was issued, but the software update is not available at any dealers as of June 18, 2022. Product update required for pgm-fi software.
Rotors warped and changed through warranty but loud humming and vibration is back after 2,000 miles on new rotors. Steering column is leaking fluid down to brake pedal. Steering wheel is making a clicking noise when turning. Speakers are crackling after fakra replacement under acceleration or going over bumps.

Car has feature that kills engine when at full stop. Car fails to automatically restart, often stalling at intersections and causing a dangerous situation. Car has to be turned off and restarted, a process that can take 15 to 30 seconds. With a brand new battery and/or full charge, the car performs flawlessly. It appears that the electrical demands of the car system exceed the ability of the battery and alternator to meet demand. I currently have an agm battery less than two years old. We typically have 1 to 3 incidents per month where will forget to disable the auto start system, and the car stalls in busy traffic when at a full stop. We bought the car used in 2017, and this problem has been consistent throughout ownership. Dealer answer is that there is nothing wrong with car.
The infotainment system glitches or goes static after a bump of any sort. Sometimes it would restart entirely. Or just not work until I stop and restart the car.
While driving on a highway the car lost all power and every dashboard light came on and started blinking. Car wouldn’t shift gear and lost all power abruptly! I almost caused a horrible accident and this has happened at least 10 times now and I’ve only had my car a year!!!!.
Engine fails to start after idle stop, when the idle-stop off button is not engaged, and the battery doesn't have enough power to re-start the vehicle. Essentially, the engine tries to start up at a traffic light/intersection but fails, causing the car to turn off and shift to neutral without warning. I then have to realize what is happening, shift the car from neutral to park, and hit the start button to be able to re-start the car. There is no warning from the car that the battery is going to be unable to keep the car running, so the stall is 100% unexpected. This is unsafe, as the re-start procedure is not intuitive, takes time, and causes cars behind you to start honking. It could very easily cause a crash. Either Acura needs to fix this issue with a battery warning, or provide the option of turning the auto-idle stop off button on permanently (which some members of our government wouldn't like, but would fix the problem and keep someone from being seriously injured). . There are so many lights flashing, my vehicle will not go over 50mph, my steering wheel is no longer straight its actually to the left. I brought it to Acura and they are stating its a rear toe actuator issue and refuse to cover the 5,100. 00 fee to fix this issue that has had a safety bulletin posted for a 2015 Tlx. There has been a bulletin about this according to carvana so Acura is aware of this issue but refuse to recall this issue. Warning lights are as follow, brake system issue, road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, vehicle stability assist problem, precision all wheel steer problem, power steering failure. This vehicle only has 46,987 miles.
Vehicle is having problems w original recall issues. Car stopping on its own on the highway, car says it’s on e all the time but has gas, car hesitates continually and sometimes just stops, electrical system is having major glitches, transmission and engine having major issues with hesitation and delay. I’ve bright it back many times and I’m beyond frustrated with no resolution. It’s unsafe to drive. Problem since day 1 I got the car. I’m scared to drive it.

The vehicle VIN - 19uub5f44ma009918 the vehicle, 2021 Acura Tlx, was purchased on June 8, 2021, from the showroom floor of metro Acura dealership. The vehicle was sold as being compatible with iphone, bluetooth handsfree link, and apple carplay. Not to mention the innovative technology, automatic lighting control, and auto-idle stop system. The vehicle was purchased with a full 4 year/50,000-mile warranty. I have dealt with metro Acura in montclair, CA, spreen Acura in riverside, CA, and wittmeier Honda in chico, CA. I have attached the service reports from the said dealerships for your review. This does not include the three times I have called for roadside assistance due to being stranded by the 2021 Acura Tlx. September 6- the vehicle would not unlock, even with the key. Stranded in a parking lot. Called roadside assistance by the time some came, the car unlocked. September 8- the warning light auto idle stop came on while driving September 10 – I took the vehicle to spreen Honda and spoke with mr. Phommasack. The vehicle had 3,275 miles. I was told that if lights are not on now, there is nothing they can do. I also explained that the bluetooth is sporadic, and the vehicle will ring even after the phone call has been answered. I insisted they keep the vehicle and try. Later the same day, after I picked up the vehicle, warning lights came on again about 40 minutes later -auto idle stop, automatic lighting control- light while driving during this time, the warning lights would continue to come on intermittently while driving. September 15- I took the vehicle to metro Acura and dealt with fernando alcaraz. The vehicle had 3910 miles. I explained to them about the vehicle not unlocking and warning lights. They stated something occurred when they put the wrap on the car, which caused the vehicle to not open; they said it was fixed. Unable to find a reason for warning lights. September 20 -auto idle stop, automatic lighting control- l.
The gears are very jerky I got this Tlx at 70k miles and its been jerky ever since. Car looses power when turning from stop the steering get hard sometimes. Transmission chirping noises.
How Acura lost my business the fact that no one from Acura will take responsibility for the ongoing issues has reaffirmed that my long-term commitment to owning Acura’s is over. Honda will only communicate via the phone and say "if the dealership can't fix it, neither can Honda. " I decided, after months of difficulties with things not working correctly in my car, to trade it in. The last straw was when I looked up the Acura Tlx blue book value; the car had a safety recall I knew nothing about from Acura. The passenger front seat airbag can deploy prematurely in an accident, and cause an injury. The professionals at the local Acura dealership cautioned me not to let passengers sit in the front seat; therefore the car was no longer usable for two people upfront. Acura can't fix the recall safety issue because there are no parts. This follows months of attempts to address other issues with the upgraded technology package not working correctly. Honda/Acura headquarters, and the florida attorney general, provide no written responses despite following the lemon law protocol. After owning my fifth Acura, a 2021 Tlx, I recognized I could no longer count on the safety I’d come to expect. My daughter had come out of totaling my first Acura, a tsx, without even a bruise or scratch more than twenty years ago. This had secured my loyalty to the brand, I had thought for life. When I press the start button with my key fob in range and with a new battery, the car won't start, but makes a rapid "ticking" noise while all of the dashboard lights flicker and other interior and exterior lights turn on. Despite repeated attempts over several hours, the car will not start.
If the car thinks the door is not fully closed, it will not allow the car to go into drive. My husband put the car into reverse and backed out onto a busy highway. He tried to put the car into drive and it would not go because the car's electrical system thought the door was not fully shut (it was). He had to shut the car off completely and open/close the door again. This put him in a very dangerous situation and he could have been killed by oncoming traffic.
I was driving 70mph on I-75 south and I moved into the left lane to pass a vehicle and when pressed down on the gas my car decelerated and multiple (all) warning lights on the dashboard lit up. The car did not recover from the deceleration and caused the car behind me to slam on their brakes, I had to quickly navigate three lanes of traffic during rush hour to get off of the highway. I called Acura service from the off ramp and they said if I restart my car a few times it should reset and I can proceed home. When I brought my car to Acura they said it was a software update and that they don't perform the software update unless a customer is experiencing issues. I am deeply concerned that this issue has not been marked as a recall or automatic software update during regular service. I was able to navigate off of the highway, but I don't think this would be the case for all drivers in this situation.
I was driving to the store, my car jerked really hard, then as I turned the car off bought my items from the store. Coming back my car didn’t want to start at all. All the lights on the dashboard came on.
Hi there, my car has been to the Acura dealer multiple times for the same issue, and I'm hearing that alot of other Acura Tlx owners are having the same issue. My car screen will randomly short, and can just shut off. Sometimes when I'm backing up, the screen will freeze and I wont realize that someone is walking behind the car, almost causing me to hit them. The audio system also can make weird crackling noises as well. There are definitely some safety features that shut off with the screen, though I cant pinpoint them exactly.
