I lost power steering driving to work at interstate speeds a couple of weeks ago. I have been driving this route to work for many years and this experience startled me. This situation could have become fatal very quickly with a less experienced driver. The replacement cost is expensive and the eps module needed for repair is not easy to find. None of the local Acura dealers will work with me so my car is sitting in a storage yard while I try to figure out what to do. As a result, I am without a car to get to work everyday. To add insult to injury, I just got the car out of the shop for a "soft pedal" brake failure, that happened at highway speeds too. This issue also could have ended very differently with less experience behind the wheel. That repair was expensive and it did not restore the braking system to original feel. The car stops better but just not as well as it did before. Let me reiterate, the car does not have that many miles on it. I might expect these problems from a vehicle with twice this mileage, but not from a car with less than 100, 000 miles.
On three occasions 2011 Acura Tsx breaks have failed while driving, causing me to have to use my emergency break in order to avoid accident. I attempted to slow down while going off the highway exit and pushed on breaks only to find the break pedal was extremely stiff and would not move no matter how hard I pushed on it. . . After few minutes, the breaks started working normally. The vehicle was pre-warmed for at least 15 min before driving every time. The weather temperatures on all three occasions were below 10 degrees f. There are multiple Acura's owners already experiencing this horrific issue. Acura needs to acknowledge this problem and issue a recall on these vehicles ASAP. What prove do you need? you want to wait until people start getting into accidents and dye because of brake failure in their cars? this is unacceptable! please issue a recall on Acura vehicles.

Brakes failed on three consecutive days during cold spell (teens with wind chill -10 to 10f) the first time I had pulled out of a parking space at the supermarket and was heading towards the exit. I noticed that the car was not slowing as I approached the street although I was exerting considerable force on the brake. I managed to stop the car and pull to the side of the street. I checked for any physical obstructions and did not find any. The brake pedal would not travel. After a few minutes the brakes resumed normal operation and I was able to carefully drive home. The next morning, I pumped the brakes with the car off until the pedal would not move. I then turned on the ignition and noticed the brake would not go down again. I had to wait a few minutes until it functioned again. Third instance, I started the car and pumped the brakes several times. The first couple times it worked but then it froze again. After some more time, the brakes engaged and I took the car to an auto repair shop. This is a very dangerous situation and I feel fortunate that I did not run anyone down in the crowded supermarket parking lot and the street was clear when I couldn't slow the car and rolled into it.
