First off I am unable to lock and unlock my passenger door using the switches or the remote key fob on my 2006 Acura Tsx. After researching on the nets I see that this doesn't just apply to me and that this is an issue others have had. The dealer stated it is the actuator. Secondly I am having an issue with what the dealer service stated is a rack in pinion issue. They say it needs to be replaced due to power steering seeping/leaking and that this would be the reason for steering problems. Again on NHTSA this seems to be an issue with this model year. I notice vibration and slight pulling to right when driving and drops of lubricant in my garage. When I reach excess speeds of 55 I have the pulling and vibration. I now mainly take side streets due to the hazard and no funds to fix this issue.

Upon starting vehicle I noticed intermittent "check power steering system". During drive cycle I encountered failure of electric power steering assist, very difficult to steer vehicle. Went to dealer for service, they witnessed same symptoms stated above, but intermittent check light will not produce a fault code, technician stated it seems like a ground problem. Unable to drive vehicle due to unsafe condition, very difficult to steer, would not be able to avoid an emergency while driving because of the amount of force needed to steer vehicle.

The key has a chip in it that controls the ignition. It also has a spring in it that allows you to fold the key into the fob. I have two times had that spring wear out and break. When you put the key in the ignition and the spring is broken and you have additional keys or rings attached to the fab it can cause the key to start closing from the weight if the spring is broken and that causes the car to shut down and turn itself off. Even if you are in drive or moving forward. It napped two times. Acura replaced the key without question and said sorry.

The car door locks, or door lock actuators, have failed multiple times ( each door at least twice) in five years. The car is now eight years old and all the actuators have failed again. The safety issue arises when the door should automatically lock after reaching 10mph, but they do not due to actuators failing to lock door. This could cause the doors to open if involved in crash. I am concerned with this safety issue as it could also allow unwanted people from entering my vehicle at any given time. Another issue is it is possible to be locked out of the vehicle if all of the actuators fail at the same time, as it requires manual activation of locks from the inside of the vehicle. The failures have been documented while the car was under warranty with Acura. I know of other Tsx owners having the same issue. I have asked to have this issue repaired from Acura and they have declined the repair, stating the vehicle is no longer under warranty, even though their service representatives have acknowledged the actuators are an issue.
The blutooth module continuously runs even when the vehicle is off/non-operational. It's led to me having to replace the battery 5x in the 8 years of ownership. I don't have any external electronic devices or chargers plugged in to where it can cause the battery to drain, nor do I leave the headlights or cabin lights on. Acura dealerships claim there is no issue, however there are many complaints about it by Acura customers online.
Center stack lights out (radio, heater/ac unit) according to internet research many other 2004 and 2005 Tsx owners are experiencing this problem, although Acura had issued a service bulletin, and supposedly increased warranty period to 100k or 7 years, there was no notification to owners. My 2004 Tsx begun experiencing the problem at 120k so the extended warranty wouldnt have helped consumers experiencing this problem after 100k miles.

Hid bulb cannot be replaced. Moisture in the housing unit.
This Tsx has had three different door lock actuators go out. Passenger door at 30k mikes, driver door at 45k miles and rear passenger door at 75k miles. While the first two were under warranty the last one isn't and costs $460 for the Acura dealer to fix the problem. Seems this should be a recall item as the car is in otherwise perfect condition. Multiple owners on Acura message boards complain of the same problem.
Fire under the hood while driving around 40 mph about 5 miles from home. Heard a squeaky sound around the stearing wheel minutes earlier. I do not know what componenet failed but had a recall sometime ago that was repaired. Had oil change exactly a week earlier. No body injured.
The speakers in technology package are getting fried, these speakers are used to give information about navigation and voice commands, this is a common occurrence in all second and first generation Acura Tsxs and there are multiple revies, blogs and threads online discussing the same: Acura should issue a recall, here are some of the threads. My sound is dead in the middle of navigation commands and I am stranded in the middle of nowhere because I cannot navigate. . Read more...
Vehicle: 2009 Acura Tsx w/tech package
attempted to make a call via handsfree link. The audio system lowered sound in the normal manner. But instead of dead silence while waiting for voice command, this extremely loud and high pitched shrill-like tone was heard and volume could not be lowered. I turned the call 'off' and attempted to use handsfree link again, and same issue of high pitched tone was heard. I immediately drove to the nearest Acura dealership and pulled into service area. Repeated the steps in using the handsfree link for the service advisor and heard the same high pitched tone. He turned the car off and restarted engine. Again, same high pitched deafening tone. Since this incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon, his suggestion of a replacement handsfree link module or part was not possible until Monday. In an attempt to rectify the situation at least temporarily, the advisor removed a couple of fuses from inside the engine compartment relating to the radio and navigation system. He then reinserted said fuses and started the engine. He then had to enter the radio code into the system and reattempted to use handsfree link to make a call. All was back to normal. I asked him if he had ever encountered this situation in the past and he replied "yes, there had been one previous occurrence. "
note: will return to same dealer/service advisor since he is familiar with my particular situation.

The a/c system (mainly the a/c compressor, clutch, and stator) in my 2005 Acura Tsx suddenly stopped working at 71,000 miles without any warning. I've researched this issue online and discovered that many 2004 and above model-year Acura Tsx vehicles have this problem. . Read more...

This is in reference to a 2009 Acura Tsx w/technology package. I understand that the radio system wouldn't normally be considered as part of a safety issue, but the loudness and severity of noise during the event could startle someone to erratic steering momentarily. I was driving down the interstate last Saturday, 05 June 2010, when a call came in to my phone (hands-free link) the radion began to mute and then the radio began screeching at very high volume. I could not turn it off by pressing the on/off button on the radio and I could not decrease the volume. I had to pull over immediately and turn the motor off. Once off, I restarted the car and tried to initiate a hands-free call and the same thing happened again. And again, I had to turn the car off to stop the noise. I can't imagine what sort of damage this might have done to the speakers or radio/amplifier. I called the dealer today and the service advisor said he had heard nothing about such a problem, but would check into data bases and get back with me. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this?.
2004 Acura Tsx radio and heater console lights went out in 2009.
The console lights (lights in the center) went out in 2009, which is a safety concern as you need to attempt to read the controls via the overhead light while driving, causing a huge distraction. We took it to the dealer and they wanted $150 just to diagnosis it. Recently we learned that Acura extended warranty some years back to fix it however we were never notified (we are the original owners). Now we have passed the extended warranty time (7 years). We feel it's a safety concern and should have been notified about the issue by Acura and that as such Acura should still be liable to fix the problem. Thank you.
Started car one night and clock, radio and temperature control lights all were out.
Purchased vehicle new. After approximately 3 months of ownership complained that odometer was not correct. Further issues included replacement of wheel bearings twice and extreme oil consumption. Each time is was brought to the dealer the problems were ignored, determined to unduplicatible or I was told nothing was wrong. Currently I see that there are tsbs relating to the steering/bearing issue and the oil consupmtion issue. I repeatedly tried to no avail to have these problems fixed with the dealership and filed two complaints with Acura corporate customer relations and recieved no assistance.
I bought my 2004 Acura Tsx car in Jan 2008 a few months later after I bought it the interior lighting of my radio and a/c buttons were not turning on anymore my warranty was already over and ever since I have been trying to find a solution or a recall.
The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tsx. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph when the vehicle would not shift into manual transmission and begin exhibiting a loud, abnormal noise. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the dealer advised the contact that the transmission would need replacing. The contact stated that the transmission was replaced three years prior at 62,000 miles. He also stated that the radio had failed and would need to be replaced for the second time and the air conditioner also needed replacing for the third time. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 62,000 and the current was 118,000.
Backlighting of radio and hvac buttons no longer works. This actually became an issue and was checked/diagnosed by the Acura dealer on March 4, 2006. At that time they indicated it was out of warranty (mileage=65,693) and the owner chose not to have the repair done since it was not covered. Acura subsequently issued a technical service bulletin to address this issue and extended the warranty for the faulty pcb to 100,000 miles. However, they still claim my vehicle is not covered because it is now beyond that 100,000 mile limit. This, even after they diagnosed the problem initially at well under the 100,000 mile limit of that extended warranty. They claim this is because I am the second owner, but that warranty stays with the car, not the owner and this has become a real safety issue for our teenage son who takes his eyes off the road far too long trying to find the right button on that unlit console.
