Left head light flickers, dipped head light warning comes on dash, light shuts off. Very dangerous while traveling dark windy roads. Turning lights off then on gets the light to work again.
Randomly, and at all different speeds and road conditions, the left or right light will flicker and go out. The instrument panel will say "dipped light". The lights must be turned off then on to correct the problem. Very dangerous on dark curvy highways. So far both have not gone out together. Dealers have no idea how to fix it as there are no error codes or cannot reproduce the problem. Problem happens at least once a week, and sometimes several times in one evening.
Lights just "dip" and turn off while driving. . . . Have to manually turn lights off and turn back on while driving. Have replace balasts and bulbs as dealer recommended. Still dips, and turns off. . "very serious" problem.

Front bi-xenon lights flicker and go out. It occurs pretty much every time I drive. This is becoming a safety issue. There are many other Audi A4 users who have this problem.
There are two separate conditions that both occur in vehicles with bi-xenon, with or without adaptive lighting (afs): one xenon light on either side sporadically flickers or flashes and goes out. When headlamps are turned off and on again or at ignition cycle, the headlamps may function properly or exhibit the same behavior; one xenon light on one side fails permanently.
Lights on Audi 2006 A4 go out while driving at night. Dealer will not fix.
2005 Audi A4 2. 0 turbo. The head lights go out and the sensor says "dipped light", need to shut lights off and then put them back on. I have brought it to the dealer 3 times and they say they know that they have a problem on all these cars but, "do not know how to fix it". They cleaned the terminals but it did not work. There are thousands of similar complaints on the lights.
Hello, I have a 2006 Audi A4 which has the xenon lights, they shut off about every time I drive my car at night and causes a huge driving distraction and the parts they say will fix it are very expensive and tend to not fix it at all, I had what they said fixed the problem only last for a month and they started to do the same thing again.
I purchased this 2005 Audi A4 in August of 2007 and within the first few months of having the vehicle I was already having problems with it having to take it in and get repaired/serviced. Not only was I dissatisfied that I bought a horrible car, because it was having recurring problems, but I find out after purchasing the vehicle the dealership sold me a quattro, but my Audi is not a quattro, so I was mislead into buying a faulty vehicle. . My paperwork documentation says 2005 Audi A4 quattro 1. 8t so I had to pay to get towed out of the snow because the Audi is only 2 wheel drive. . I will never ever purchase a vw/Audi vehicle again and I always tell people don't get a vw/Audi because they are horrible unreliable cars. I have put so much money into this junk Audi that just constantly has problems, I could have bought a new car again by now . I'm very disappointed with vw/Audi. I have wasted so much money on diagnostic repair checks, because the [xxx] check engine light repeatedly keeps coming on the dashboard. I can't get my car smog approved without the check engine light being off, so I am relentlessly dumping money I simply don't have into this pos Audi. Since I purchased this vehicle, the hid lights have sporadically flickered. Within the past year, they randomly flicker and sometimes turn off briefly making for a hazardous driving situation. I really wish Audi would fix this problem because there are hundreds of owners having the exact same problems.
