1 Tire problem of the 2021 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/10/2025

Tires are original equipment. Only 19,000 miles on them. Was told all 4 tires have belt shifts and hop some. Suggested they should be replaced. These tires were great when new but you could tell from driving they were degrading. I'm [xxx] and never had an issue with tires this new. The belt shifting could be a manufacturing issue or hitting to many potholes. I suspect it is a combination of the two. Tire size is 245/40r18. Looking at internet reviews, these tires are great but wear out very prematurely. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

7 Tire problem of the 2003 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/04/2010

I was driving my Audi a-4 on the freeway at speeds of approximately 65 mph when there was a loud thumping on the left front of my vehicle. Moments later, it stopped but I noticed there were vibrations and shimmies on my steering wheel. I slowed down and pulled to side of fwy to inspect the tire. It appeared fine, however, vibration was still there. I pulled onto surface streets at lower speeds and it stopped. Shortly thereafter, I pulled into a gas station to take the tire off to replace with spare and noticed separation of the tread, measuring approximately 31 inches long and 1. 5 inches in width. I was shocked that I didn't lose control or have a blowout from this catastrophic failure.

8 Tire problem of the 2003 Audi A4

Failure Date: 01/04/2010

My complaint is against falken tire and discount tire direct regarding a tire sold as the falken ziex ze-912. This tire is being sold as an all-season tire. It is in fact a summer tire. The tire has absolutely no traction in the snow and since I purchased the tires I have been in at least three circumstances where I could not safely stop my vehicle. I understand the difference between all-season and winter tires, but I have purchased all-season tires before that offer safe braking performance in snow and slush conditions. I am complaining against dtd as a major reseller of tire products because they market this tire as an all season product neglecting their responsibility to the buying public of offering safe products.

11 Tire problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 07/06/2008

07 s-line under 25,000 miles and just put on 3rd new set of tires. I know sport suspension wears tires quicker than normal car but this ridiculous. 1st set lasted 14,500 miles,2nd set 9,000 (I'm not a boy racer, I'm a sensible driver)1st 2 sets of tires were continentals so trying firestone now to see if they any better. Audi cars are heavy so they should accommodate tires to suit or better still, modify cars so they are less heavy. Your worth umpteen millions of pounds and still cant satisfy a lot of customers. Read the problems customers have and sort them out when u pay money for any car it should not cost you every 5 mins to keep it on the road. The dealers also think everybody is 'dumb' with all the feeble excuses they come out with. Customer care is an empty 2 words that don't stand for anything once the car is driven off the forecourt. I know lots of people who have Audi's and the complaints from them alone would fill a football stadium. Love my car but seriously thinking of changing it after the year.

12 Tire problem of the 2004 Audi A4

Failure Date: 11/28/2007

I brought my 2004 Audi A4 to jack daniels motors in March of 2007 to get new tires. They of course suggested pirelli tires and really didn't offer me any other choices. So I spent $826. 21 for new pirelli in March, 2007. Well now it's November of 2007 and I brought my Audi back to them and they told me that the tires had to be changed because they lost the threads and were gong bald. When I told them I just put the tires on eight (8) months ago and weren't they warranted, they told me they weren't. Why would Audi put on tires that didn't come with a warranty???? I called pirelli customer service and they told me the same thing. . I have had my tires replaced because they were not safe to drive on especially with the winter months upon me. I did not get tires from them, I bought tires that had a warranty from an tire dealer and they weren't pirelli. I would never again buy pirelli tires and feel I should get my money back for the garbage they put on the car at such a ridiculously high price.

13 Tire problem of the 1998 Audi A4

Failure Date: 09/06/2005

I took my car in to have one of its tires (left rear) serviced because it had begun to lose air pressure. A screw was visible in the tire. While in for repair the mechanic discovered severe dry rot on the inside of the driver side tires. The openings were 2-4 inches long with exposure through to the liner. The service mechanic stated that the dry rot was "not unheard of but was unusual" and that the two tires were faulty and unsafe and would need to be replaced. Because my car is an all-wheel drive model all four tires would need to be replaced to avoid any possible damage to the all-wheel drive/quattro system. The service mechanic also stated that the tread wear was in great shape. Three of the four tires including the two faulty were bought in January of 2003 and had 41k miles on them. The fourth tire was newer, bought in July of 2004 and had 17k miles on it.

14 Tire problem of the 2003 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/11/2005

2003 Audi A4. Had a flat tire and I called insurance company. They sent a technician to change tire and tire would not come off the wheel. Had to get under vehicle and kick the tire to get it to come off. Then I took the vehicle to the dealership to get the tires taken off, get surfaces cleaned, and tires rotated. The tires are pirelli , p235/45 r17, and were on vehicle when purchased. The tire pressure that manufacturer recommended was 32. The problem with my vehicle was when the lug nuts were removed the wheel would not come off. This was the first time had to change tires since owning the vehicle. Updated 12/12/2007.

15 Tire problem of the 2004 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/05/2004

While driving 30 mph, the consumer hit a pot hole. Suddenly, the vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. The consumer pulled over, and noticed that the front passenger tire was flat. The mechanic replaced the tire. A few months later, the problem recurred with front driver's side tire. This problem also occurred with the consumers parents' vehicle which was equipped with the same tires.

16 Tire problem of the 1999 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/02/2002

Treads separated on both front left and front right tires along on inside edge of each while driving on interstate 93 in nh. One threw cord, the other showed separation upon examination. Dealer [lakes region Audi, gilford nh] checked inflation, at 31. 2 and 31. 4lb (recommended pressure is 32lb). Moderate tread wear (4/32in left?) after 30k mi. Dealer also performed re-alignment after new tires were installed, but found no serious problem (minor toe-in adj). This car is driven mostly in washington DC where it has been very hot recently, but these are temperature category a tires. Same failure on both front tires at same time suggests a possible manufacturing defect.
