My 2012 Audi A5 has 155,000 miles on it and it has had every oil change and maintenance up to date , my turbos and pistons have caused complete engine failure with 0 compression in my only car . Both have recalls on them for my year and model and even tho I got a letter in the mail about being part of a settlement for my turbos causing engine failure I feel as tho my car shouldn't be broke it should of already been fixed.

My 2011 Audi A5 2. 0t has experienced low compression on piston number 1 which is a sign of engine failure and requires the engine to be redone. Since then I have checked with Audi mechanics and online reviews and it seems like my model of Audi has a common problem with the engine. The fact that many A5's have experienced engine failures begs the question of why Audi has not recalled this vehicle and why the engines were allowed to be released that are obviously sub optimal and weak!.

The timing chain tensionor failed with no warning causing catastrophic engine failure. Audivw is aware of the issue and refuse to issue a recall on the part they have redesigned more than 4 times. Repair cost is $10-12,000 when it fails. Replacing the defective part would cost $700.
