One problem related to axle assembly has been reported for the 1999 Audi A6. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tie rods, ball joints, and upper control arms all failed, resulting in damage to axle causing failure of vehicle in traffic and requiring axle replacement (in addition to replacement of upper control arms, ball joints, and tie rods). Dealer says none of damage or repairs covered by any recall.
