general problems of the 1999 Audi A6

Three problems related to power train have been reported for the 1999 Audi A6. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2012

Audi claims that transmission fluid and filter never needs to be changed, this is not only incorrect, but this also causes transmission problems on a regular basis. This should not be told to the customer for it is a lie just so the customer has constant transmission problems while Audi racks in the money. It is a scam and it should be eliminated from potential and existing Audi customers. No oil was ever made not to break down and not ever be changed. A new Audi owner usually listens to the dealership about their cars, and usually don't change the fluids or filters, hence transmission break downs and expensive repairs. Scam.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2005

Audi A6 (2. 8l) throttle was frozen open at 70 miles per hour, only way to stop was to "stand on" the brakes. Shut the car off and it was ok. Called the dealer and was told there was a recall on the throttle sticking at cold temp (temp this day was 3â°f). Told me they could not fix it right away, but to bring it in a couple of days. I have no record of receiving this recall. I looked on the internet and did find it. I thought you would like to record this occurrence for your records.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2005

1999 Audi a-6 quattro, tie rod end replaced. Tie rod recall was done when the vehicle had 13187 miles on it. At 60806 the tie rods had to be replaced again. The transmission leaked.
