Tie rods, ball joints, and upper control arms all failed, resulting in damage to axle causing failure of vehicle in traffic and requiring axle replacement (in addition to replacement of upper control arms, ball joints, and tie rods). Dealer says none of damage or repairs covered by any recall.

There is a constant thumping emanating from the rear axle area of the car, most notably at full stop. Audi says they are aware of it but don't know what to do about it. Also there is a squeal when turning sharply and slowly, but Audi says they cannot duplicate it.
