36 Body problem of the 2010 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 10/05/2018

A few weeks ago, my wife and I observed water on driver's side of the dashboard after it rained. I then checked the floor carpet in the driver's foot well -it was wet. After removing the driver's side grab handles, a-pillar trim and the visor in order to lower the headliner, I observed water dripping at the junction of the drain hose to the sunroof. I also observed more water leaking into the car between the top side of the windshield and the body of the car. I also noticed that the driver's side curtain airbag was wet from the water dripping from the sunroof / drain hose connection. On 10/15/18, I called Audi of America and informed the representative of the problems with the vehicle the representative took my information and said, "somebody will get in touch with you". On 10/17/18, I received a phone call from mrs. Shemonia. I informed mrs. Shemonia that our Q5 has leaking sunroof drain that causes water to drain over the driver's side curtain airbag, which may prevent the airbag from deploying properly. I also informed mrs. Shemonia v. That the windshield is lose which cases water to leak into the car as well. Lose windshield is also a safety defect because it may prevent the passenger's side front airbag from deploying properly. Mrs. Shemonia stated that Audi declined to provide any assistance with repairing these two problems since the Q5 is out of the factory warranty period. I called bell Audi and spoke to service advisor tom who stated that he was aware of the leaking sunroof drains due to dry rot and that the repair would cost about $800. 00. According to tom, the windshield repair would cost $1200. 00 because "the old windshield cannot be taken out without breaking it so a new windshield would have to be installed. " it appears that Audi of America does not care about their vehicles being unsafe.

38 Body problem of the 2018 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 01/20/2018

I purchased my vehicle on 4/21/2017, I was sold by the dealership on the advertised safety feature called the Audi pre sense. Audi pre sense detects collision hazards all around the car and initiates specific preventive measures. On 1/20/2018 at 9am I was involved in an accident where I was driving on a city street going about 10-15 mph, I was stopped at a red light and was driving off from the intersection due to the glare in my eyes I was not able to see a cement pillar in front of me. The car collided and there the entire front was smashed in, the engine belt was clipped. I contacted Audi head quarters and described to them the incident, provided pictures, and police report. Audi customer care told me that the safety feature does not work in sunlight and that in this cased the Audi pre sense would not of detected anything. This is far different from what the dealership told as well as what is published on their website. The Audi pre sense should be 360 view and my car should have alerted me that I was in an accident.

39 Body problem of the 2017 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 09/26/2017

We rear-ended a semi truck while driving on a highway as traffic began to slow . The entire front end of our vehicle was badly damaged. The airbags did not deploy and the pretensioners on the drivers seatbelt did not engage . The speed at which we were traveling is unknown but likely more than 15 miles per hour and less than 40 miles per hour. The driver looked away from the road briefly and rear-ended the truck ahead . We are extremely concerned that our airbags and seatbelt did not engage. The driver hit her head on the steering wheel and the passengers knees were jammed into the glove compartment.

40 Body problem of the 2010 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 02/21/2017

We are aware that there was a different recall that did not include our car that caused corrosion in the paneling of the car from the moon roof and it was possibly causing air bags to deploy. We have been to the dealership to be serviced and they have explained to us that there is excessive amount of corrosion in the panels of the car and also the corrosion and water leakage has destroyed the electrical components of our backup camera/system. We are wondering if this has been brought up by other people because, although our car's VIN was not included in the recall I am referring to, it seems strange that my car has these exact same issues. There is not an exact date attached to these issues because it must have been happening for quite some time. The only reason we know of the corrosion is because the dealership employee crashed into our car and they had to fix the damage. In doing so they discovered the excessive amounts of corrosion and could not explain the reasoning/cause behind it.

42 Body problem of the 2016 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 09/07/2016

Side mirrors totally block vision at certain angles. I was stopped at a traffic light on a downtown street. Light changed and I made a left turn and crashed right into a car that was totally blocked from view by the side view mirror. It seems I was on the wrong side of the lane line, which I couldn't see either until I was able to crawl out of my car on the drivers side. This being unable to see lane lines and on coming cars has been a continual problem for me, particularly when turning left. The damage to my vehicle was over $10,000. I am certain I was going under 10 miles an hour because I was only going to travel one block from where I was turning. The car I hit was drivable. My car had to be towed.

45 Body problem of the 2011 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 04/14/2014

I purchased a certified preowned Audi Q5 last March 2013. The vehicle was running fine. No problems or concerns. I took the vehicle to an Audi dealer in February 2014 for an annual service and also in March 2014 for my yearly inspection/emissions testing. On April 2014, I had loss the vehicle due to an unknown fire that had started in the car. Yes, my car was engulfed in fire! prior to this fire, I had no problems or messages on my dashboard or smelled smoke while I had drove the car. The car was running fine up until that day. I have no idea what happend to my vehicle. The insurance company had investigated this vehicle, and they stated that arson was not the blame for the fire. They r/o an electrical issue that might of been the cause of the fire. The insurance company had also researched recalls and manufacturer defects, and they claimed there were no issues. I am completely stunned about this incident. The car was parked all day, and I just can't believe out of nowhere that the car had caught on fire. I've been in contact with the dealer where I purchased the vehicle, and they are as shocked as I am about what happen. Hopefully, I'll get an explanation as to why the vehicle had mysteriously caught on fire.

48 Body problem of the 2012 Audi Q5

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

This is a design defect. The side mirrors are too large and placed in a location on the window that creates a blind spot and in particular the driver's side there are instances when you can not see a car coming at you from the left, or of you are turning left you cannot see if there is an island. While we have not had an accident, it is a hazard and should be rectified. This has given rise to a number of near accidents and I have tried to get Audio to listen to me.
