I started the car and , put it in reverse and the rear back up camera never turned on as required when backing up today. Rear camera didnt activate but the parking light on the Audi was red as usual indicating it was activated. However the screen just went to its default app page (settings, carplay, etc. ) I was unable to see pedestrians as I backed out of the grocery shopping center parking spot. Yes. Audi dealership keeps telling me there is no update and that my software version 3606 is the latest software( I have told the dealer, I have a black screen without apps, only lte and clock show up occasionally) they have done a factory reset and so have I without resolution. No warning lights came on, it just said welcome (user name) and went to the regular media screen. I have a 2mb 7 second video of the incident I took with my iphone if needed.

The Audi Q5 sunroof drain that is intended to keep water out of the vehicle, leaked where water collected and pooled in the car beneath the car liner. The water collected on the "comfort module" and electrical fuse box resulting in immediate electrical failure of several vehicle features/systems including brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, windshield wipers, etc. To name a few. In addition to repairs in excess of $10k, the vehicle will be totaled by the insurance company. After an exhaustive search, several Audi users of the same make, model and year have faced a similar issue. This issue must be addressed by Audi and should be reviewed immediately.

Stopped on the road, the rear window exploded with a very loud boom. I pulled over and talked to the driver behind me who also pulled over and asked if he saw anything, he said no, only heard the boom. We looked in the back of the car and no projectile or foreign object. I moved to a nearby parking lot and pushed as much of the broken glass into the car as I could so it wouldn't fall off on the road. There were no cracks or defects identifiable before hand. The car was clean and any issues would have been visible. There was no warning of the explosion. I have brought the car in to the dealer, fletcher jones in chicago.

Driving on the highway the panoramic sun roof window shattered. Sounded like an explosion. Glass shattered and flew throughout car and blew away. Posed hazard to those in car as the glass shattered. Could have caused hazard if driver did not maintain control due to sudden sound and sudden incidence. Extremely dangerous.

The panoramic sunroof exploded while driving spontaneously. Luckily no one was injured due to the shattered glass due to the cloth screen being drawn fully. The problem was reported to Audi and to the local dealer. The vehicle has not been inspected by insurance or police. There were no warning indicators prior to the incident.

There is a leak from the panorama sunroof into rear side cabinet of the vehicle. There is already a recall #17v001000 but my vehicle is not on the list even though the issue is identical to the recall description. The leak can potential causes damage to the side rear airbag so it is a safety concern for me. However, the cause is really a defective drain hose connecting to the sunroof drain that is not securely attached or maybe defective.

The housing for the sunroof cracked on the passenger side and water is running down the headliner and a-pillar and soaking the passenger side floor as it drains down. Audi quoted $3500 to fix the issue.

First of all I am a retired police officer with 35 years of service. . Twenty five years as a certified accident investigator. My experience with safety hazards in reference to motor vehicles I have concluded that the side view mirrors on the Q5 (2016)are way too big and obstructs your visual fiield especially the drivers side mirror. On several occasions this blind spot almost involved myself in a vehicular accident.
The sunroof sunshade broke while retracting and blocked rear window causing a hazard. I had to tape it up as it is now only partially attached and I am unable to remove. It is taped so I can continue driving safetly. I was driving when this happened.

The driver's side mirror has a very large housing and causes a blind spot just to the left of the driver's side. I have had 2 near misses, one with almost hitting a car and one with almost hitting a pedestrian. They were in the blind spot when I began to make a left turn, from a stop, and did not see them. I was on a city street, stopped and then began to make a left turn on both occasions.
Panoramic sunroof start leaking water when rain and panoramic foam swells, foam becomes rusied and builds corrosion.
The contact owns a 2015 Audi Q5. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v001000 (visibility, air bags). The dealer stated that the parts were not available. A repair appointment was scheduled, but there was no timeframe for the repair. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The rear view mirror fell off. A small clip that holds it on was broken simply adjusting the mirror. I was sitting at a red light when it happened. The mirror was put back on but if I touch it or adjust it will fall off.
"takata recall" and visibility I was involved in an accident on 6/30 driving 2016 Audi Q5 taking a left hand turn. Before making the turn I ensured no one was coming from the opposite direction as I had a solid green light. When I was half way through the intersection then suddenly a car from no where came and hit my car on the front passenger side in a speed of at least 45 mph. My car was dragged for several meters and finally stopped on the sidewalk and the front part is completely damaged. I was surprised to see that the airbags didn't deploy even though my front lights and hood are totally damaged.
The mirrors on my Audi Q5 are too high and big. They completely obstruct my view when making a left hand turn. I either have to look below or above them somehow to see. I was in an accident on 02/11/2016. I stopped at 4 way stop and made a complete stop at the stop sign, and proceeded to make a left. I hit a small sports car that was completely blocked from my view. Did not see the car until he was right in front of me. At that point it was too late to brake and I hit him. The driver side mirror completely blocked the car from being seen. This could be much worse as it could have been a pedestrian in the crosswalk. Audi needs to look into this. I have been online and am not the only one with this complaint.
The wiper pulls back water to the windscreen that impacts visibility causing a safety hazard. The car was taken to the dealer and vides were shown. Brand new wiper blades were installed at the cost of $80. The problem continues. Dealer states that it is by design. Have driven several Q5's and such a safety hazard is definitely not by design. Videos are posted on the Audi facebook page. No response or attempt to fix the issue.

The passenger side mirror blocked my view while taking a left turn which caused an accident.
Front windshield washer non-operative. Dealer diagnosed as bad switch. Not covered by warranty, recall or campaign. (5) months out of warranty. Started as intermittent now not working at all. Vehicle will not pass MA state inspection as is.
This is a continuing problem when it rains. The intermittent setting on the windshield wipers is ineffective and I believe dangerous as visibility is significantly impaired. During moderate rainy periods, the interval, which is supposed to be sensed by devices in the windshield responds erratically, with intervals varying from over 30 seconds to about 2-3 seconds and then intervals in-between. This is particularly challenging when passing trucks on limited access highways where the passing time can be extended by traffic. Requests for repair of this erratic operation have been made, but without resolution of the problem. I have been to the dealer twice and no resolution.

Wipers stop- the wipers have "off", "intermittent", slow, fast. When the wipers are in "slow" and the car comes to a stop (such as a red light, stop sign, pedestrian, turning across traffic) the wipers stop! while the car is stopped they may start in 5 sec, 10 sec , 20 sec (based on rain sensor?) or when you start moving & reach 2-3 miles per hour (how do you start moving when you can't see?). If you need to move & they have not started to wipe, you must move the lever so you can see to start moving. If you leave them in the fast speed (too fast for most of the time), they will slow but not stop when the car stops. I've taken it to the dealer & spoken with Audi customer service & they say they are working "as designed"! who designs wipers to stop in the middle of the street during the rain?! updated 06/25/2012.
The contact owns a 2010 Audi Q5. The contact stated that while driving in inclement weather, the windshield wipers almost fractured from the vehicle. In addition, he stated that the vehicle went through a car wash and the wipers completely fractured from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who recommended hand washing the vehicle since the car wash brushes would pull the wipers from the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who concluded that the automatic rain sensor was turned on which caused the wipers to activate. They did not offer any assistance since they stated that they were not responsible for the failure. The VIN was not available and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 23,600.
Wipers do not keep windshield clear in winter snow and ice driving conditions. Wipers freeze up and do not clear windshield, seriously compromising visibility and causing dangerous vehicle operation. Design is proprietary and Audi do not offer winter blades to remedy this situation. Please note, this is for an Audi a4 quattro, not Q5 as your web site only acknowledges the a3 and Q5 as choices for vehicles.
