My 2017 Audi Q7 prestige 3. 0t 6cyl gas crec supercharged has experienced repeated, serious failures involving the engine, powertrain, and fuel system. - at 72,000 miles, the vehicle developed coolant leaks under the supercharger, a failed water pump, and soaked drive belts. Repairs included multiple hoses, gaskets, and thermostat replacement. -shortly after, repeated pcv/oil system failures caused oil leaks, warning lights, and engine shaking. Repairs included pcv system, oil separator, valve cover gasket, breather pipes, and new spark plugs. - at 111,000 miles, the low-pressure fuel pump and relay failed, causing the vehicle to stall and lose all power while driving- a major safety risk. -most recently, the engine developed a severe misfire in cylinder #4. Compression testing confirmed abnormally low compression (15 psi) due to a suspected cracked valve seat. The vehicle cannot be repaired without a complete engine replacement, quoted at ~$20,000. Safety impact: - vehicle has stalled suddenly in traffic due to fuel and engine failures, risking crash or injury. - coolant and oil leaks present a potential fire hazard. - loss of power and shaking while driving put my family and others at risk. Inspection/confirmation: -all problems have been repeatedly confirmed and repaired by an independent Audi specialty service center (s&s auto repair). - numerous invoices document coolant, oil, fuel, and engine failures. Warning signs: - multiple dashboard warning lights appeared either right before or during failure, including engine malfunction, coolant loss, and auto start/stop malfunction. These repeated failures at relatively low mileage suggest a design/manufacturing defect with the Audi 3. 0t engine platform that compromises both safety and reliability. Warranty will be over in 60 days; the catalyst coverter is going back, the Audi dealer and Audi corporate are delaying the fixture do to some mis communication between dealer and corporate. The problem has to do with def gases not being cleanup. The error code is p20ee00 and the engine light is on. The part is under warranty and Audi corporate is delaying the fixt because the do not wish to pay for the cost. They have had my vehicle for a full week and no decision when to replace the part. I strongly believe they want the warranty to expire so the customer has to pay for cost of the catalyst. The dealer has verified that part is under warranty but corporate does not response to the dealer. 0.

The gasket seals and the seals on the cylinder are not sealed causing fuel to peak from fuel injectors.
There have been continuous indicators by way of the check engine light repeatedly appearing on my vehicle's dash for a number of years. A different determination was always discovered each time I took my vehicle to the only Audi certified dealership in my area. Most recently, I have been told that my vehicle now requires a fuel system replacement, high pressure fuel pump, all components in fuel tank, fuel rails, injectors, all rubber fuel lines for a cost of $16,830. 50. Coincidentally, I received information by mail from the manufacturer (Audi), indicating there was a safety recall 20w9--fuel pump flange for this exact same issue, and that my vehicle had been identified amongst the other reported 143,214 vehicles, as affected. This information was dated October 6, 2016. I immediately contacted my local Audi dealership to schedule an appointment to discuss next step options to resolve this recall issue, and was told then by my assigned service technician that the parts were not available at that time to render repairs, but I would be contacted when to bring my vehicle back in. Subsequently, I don't recall ever having that particular issue get resolved because a plethora of other issues related the countless times the check engine light regularly appeared became priority. Now I'm eing told that the exact recall issue I was notified about years ago is the latest identified problem and totally my "financial responsibility", because it's not being covered under warranty. This is as much of a safety issue now as it was then, but never got directly addressed or settled. Thankfully due to my awareness by being the regular, primary driver of my vehicle, I have been diligent in reporting check engine light ndicators, along with any other mechanical light issues each time they've appeared, and there have been no incidents or accidents posing a major threat to my safety. Of course, I wish to keep it this way when operating any vehicle on the roads I travel.

Every week the vehicle is saying add 1 quart of oil to continue driving.
Driving on highway at 70 mph and high engine temp light came on. Said to pull over and continue to run car until temp decreased. I got over as quickly as I could ( no more than 1/4 of a mile) and sat on side of PA turnpike as engine cooled. I was at bottom of an exit ramp. I slowly proceeded up the ramp and warning came on again and red temp light reached again. I pulled right into the gas station at top of tp exit ramp. It still said to continue to run the car. I sat with my son in the car and ran the car in the shade. The temp was decreasing and then all my electrical lights came on, yellow battery warning light on and then suddenly the red battery light and all systems failed. Car turned off. Called aaa to take to my mechanic as Audi was a 3 hour wait for a tow and 3 weeks for service appointment with no loaners available. My certified mechanic said water pump completely dislodged. He replaced water pump, thermostat (which was already replaced bc it failed in year 2 of ownership). After repair, 48 volt battery would not take a charge. Assumed faulty alternator and/or battery. Alternator was already replaced once at year 1 as car died while driving as well. We had car towed to Audi and they are reporting known issues with water pump but not issuing recalls. Also known issues with alternator repair parts that were used in year 1 but no warning to consumers. They are diagnosing problem now and if alternator and subsequent battery issue, it will be covered but not if battery issue comes back as electrical in nature.

The bosch cp4 high pressure fuel pump failed suddenly at interstate speed (65-70mph) as I was driving up a hill in 3 lanes of traffic. The car stalled immediately and lost all motive power. I had to limp across 3 lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder right away, risking collision from passing vehicles. I could provide the damaged pump for inspection if needed. It's a common failure of the cp4 design, disintegrating and pushing tiny metal shards throughout the fuel system including injectors. The cp4 has been recalled on many vehicles previously. The problem has been diagnosed by the Audi dealership and confirmed the bosch cp4 pump failed and destroyed the entire fuel system. The car has been dealership maintained since new and had no warning signs of failure, or lights. It was running perfectly prior to this incident. Because of the location of the incident there was a 5 hour delay in roadside assistance, in which my family sat on the side of the road.

The smell of gasoline out side on the left and the right behind driver seat. Please help me. I searched on youtube alot of car Audi brand recall to fix the issue. They said cracked and leaked the cap of filter fuel pump.
Over a period of a week started to smell fuel in the cabin area. I took the vehicle to my mechanics as the closest Audi dealer in 1hr 15mins away on I-10 in mobile alabama and I did not want to risk the drive. It turns out that the Q7 has a recall for 20z8 which is the fuel pump flange, since the mechanic I use works on europe models and has worked on both my Audi's before I requested him to complete the job since it was a safety recall. Then I attached all the information to Audi of America stating what the issue was and why I didn't take it to Audi of mobile due to my safety I received an email back from Audi stating since I didn't take the vehicle to mobile and not to a Audi dealership they would not pay for the repairs. Due to the smell of gas and the distance I needed to travel for the repair I deemed this a safety risk for both myself and other road users. Also was not sent anything by Audi about a safety recall for either of my Audi's so how is one meant to know about these things immediately, the recall came out in 2017 this was before I bought the car.

On 05/24/24 Friday morning, I was driving at 35 mph on local road after existing from highway. Suddenly the screen displayed this message: drive system malfunction. The car was totally broken down. I couldn't start the engine any more so I turned on hazard light and pulled over to the curb pending aaa rescue truck. Luckily it was not happened on highway. Otherwise the car could be wrecked to cause fatal accident. It was the first time since I had this brand new Audi Q7 in November 2019 running 26,600 miles. It seems that there is a leak around my fuel tank. That resembles something Audi has put in a recall for other vehicles of my year make and model, but my VIN isn’t included in the recall.
The vehicle was leaking gas. The vehicle rarely would start. Fuses easily burn out or go bad due to possible electrical problems. Now I am having to purchase maybe it is called a drive shaft? or something that makes the vehicle not go or start?? I am not a mechanic but I pay a lot of money on this vehicle every month, the repairs are extremely high and not wating to ruin my credit due to neglect part of Audi company. I will also get pictures as soon as the mechanic can get the parts and start working on the next problem.
I was driving on the freeway at 60 mph when pushing on the gas pedal, the Audi Q7 2017 started to DE-accelerate from 60 - 30 and then went lower. The gas pedal then locked while still on a lane on the freeway and luckily I was able to quickly move to the shoulder of the freeway. From there my car proceeded to not start and kept flashing low battery, telling me to put it into drive. I could not put it into drive to start the car. There were no warnings as the car lost speed on the freeway and a mechanic has determined it is the fuel pump. This was a very scary incident as my two young children and dog were in the car and if I hadn't been able to move to the side quickly, we would have been stopped in the middle of a busy city freeway. Additionally, it took a tow truck two hours to reach us. I keep my car well maintained with service.
About a month ago I smelled and noticed a fuel leak had a mechanic check it out he said it was leaking by the fuel pump flange and it was a recall and it looks like it wasn’t fix at all or wasn’t fixed properly I contacted Audi and they said it was fixed but they have no records of it being fixed!!.
In the first 10k miles the motherboard had to be replaced. Then the volume dial twice. Then the fuel sensor broke and because of its placement the entire gas tank had to be replaced. Next up at 45k the medtronic (brains of the transmission had to be replaced and then the differential was having problems and they were debating working on it. I went to sell it at 48k miles before the warranty expired and during the inspection it was noted the two engine mounts were leaking and needed to be replaced. After I sold it to an Audi dealer, different than the Audi dealer I had purchased the car from and where I had all the warranty work done, I found out the carfax report showed none of the repairs made by the original Audi dealer to the car. Seems fradulent to me by the original Audi dealership who did all the major repairs.
Large fuel leak from fuel pump flange. Vehicle has had the recall 20w9 performed in 2018 as can be seen by the black butyl sticker on the assembly. However, this failed to prevent the flange from cracking and subsequently creating a large fuel leak. This is the very failure the recall was intended to prevent. Part is available for inspection if necessary as well as work order from original recall.

Fuel pump failed and is leaking on my 2018 Audi Q7. Audi has confirmed it will need to be replaced at my cost. Audi also confirmed it has an extended warranty to replace the faulty fuel pump on other model years on the same Q7 vehicle model, for 150,000 miles. It appears that to rectify the issue, the same part is replaced as on the warranty fix. Why was model year 2018 not included in the warranty if it is the same part?.

The contact owns a 2015 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, it failed to indicate that the fuel tank was full. As a result, fuel continued to pump, eventually spilling gasoline before the contact became aware of the failure. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump flange. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA campaign number 17v298000 (fuel system gasoline), the VIN was included, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist and advised the contact that the vehicle had been repaired by the previous owner. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Start/stop system malfunction. The vehicle gave me this warning and the vehicle almost stopped completely in the interstate while doing 65mph. The warning disappeared after couple of times of turning the car back on, but it appeared once again. It looks that their are many complaints and a class act lawsuit on Audi about this problem but no recalls. It's dangerous and really mind blowing that nothing has been done on this issue.
I have an Audi Q7. Yesterday you could smell gas in the car and my 6 year old said he had a headache. I got in the car today and did not smell gas. Due to safety concerns, I immediately bought took the car to dandini's in westerville, ohio. This autoshop only services Audi and vws and their repair staff is certified in Audi and has worked at Audi dealerships. When I got to the dealership the inside of the car had a strong odor of gasoline. When we went back to the car 10 minutes later it still had a strong odor of gasoline when you opened the door. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a fuel filter issue. He said it was under a recall. The recall number is 16v-660 and may have been expanded. He called Audi and Audi said they could either replace the faulty fuel filter or put a patch on the faulty part. On my vehicle, they performed the recall by putting a patch on the fuel filter. They said they had no responsibility to replace the fuel filter - even though the patch failed - as they put a patch on it. That patch failed. I called Audi customer service and informed them the vehicle was unsafe to drive and they pushed me to go to a dealer and would not confirm if they would replace the part noting that there was not an active recall. Again, Audi said they would not do anything further on the recall since they put the patch on the filter even though the patch failed. The patch is sticky and melting and the failure could be due to heat or not being able to last long. See picture showing the patch failing. I replaced the fuel filter and the issue was resolved. It cost $577. 98 to fix this issue. Audi refuses to reimburse I am emailing because there is a potential issue with the recall fix on the fuel filter issue on the Audi Q7. My patch failed. I was lucky that no one was injured due to the failure. You may want to review the issue on other recall repairs that did patches and not replacements. I have the part if you would like to review it.

Filling up the tank registers only half a tank. It seems similar to this recall which wasn't for my car's year. Nhtsa campaign number: 22v155.
This started happening in the last 2 mos. My mmi started acting up, it first displayed radio not installed, then it would stall and not show anything on screen, then it came back on to regular showing but then went out again and displaying radio not installed. Then at one point I was able to play my cds but not my radio. Then finally the complete system went out, now the screen only shows the mmi logo and will not turn on and cant not be reset. So as this has happen, my fuel tank area started to drips tiny drops of gas only happens when I drove it, so now it is leaking even more fuel so I have it sitting in drive way until I get it into the shop. While its been sitting in the drive way for the last 2 weeks, I would occasionally start it but this last time I started it my battery went dead and it started leaking even more gas after I got it jumped. As long as it is not on it does not leak gas.

On my way to drop my child off at school, I stopped to refuel my Audi Q7. Upon inserting the nozzle to refuel the car, gasoline immediately began jetting out of the fuel door before the auto-shutoff kicked in, covering myself as well as my vehicle. Thankfully, the hot exhaust did not ignite the liquid or fuel vapor potentially causing a deadly fire. Despite having no fuel remaining, I was able to take the vehicle to our local mechanic where they discovered a TSB denoting this specific issue. The TSB was initially released 04/28/2016 for model year 2017 Audi Q7s. It was subsequently updated to include model year 2018 Q7s as well. This is a documented factory safety defect that denotes if this issue is to occur, to replace the whole fuel tank. Further research shows that a valve inside the non-wear, non-serviceable fuel filler neck can become dislodged and nearly completely block the filler neck from accepting fuel. This can cause a potential safety issue as the result of this blockage, the vehicle as well as driver can become doused in gasoline before a pump's auto-shutoff can kick in due to the shallow depth of the fault. The problem is known and documented as being an issue nearly immediately after the model year 2017 Q7 line was released. There was no prior warning or indication that this could occur at any time filling the vehicle.
Audi denied emissions warranty for covered item.
The component that failed was the fuel level sender. The attachment shows that I had it repaired by Audi. They found low static resistance which is the same issue they recalled 46,000 other vehicles for including 2019, just not Q7. The car is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because the gas and did not work on the safety of others was put at risk because I could have run out of gas anywhere and it anytime. You took over a month to get an appointment. The issue has been corrected in June 2023. Audi was the only one that inspected the vehicle. There was one warning when it failed. .
The problem: I was driving and noticed a high remaining fuel range, or a fuel gauge that appears to be stuck at a specific level, I ran out of gas while in motion, and my engine stalled almost causing a crash on the highway. My vehicle was towed to the kansas city Audi dealer and they have identified the same issue in the recall in the NHTSA campaign number: 22v155. Audi’s own number for this recall is 20dn. The dealer has quoted $5,000 to make the repair (my vehicle is currently at the dealer). My 2018 Q7 has the same engine as the 2018 a7 where there is a recall regarding the same reported issue. "the fuel level sender, which is located inside the vehicle’s gas tank, may get stuck on the gas tank’s ventilation pipe, leading the dashboard display to show an incorrect gas level and remaining range level. ".
The fuel tank has a broken flap in the filler neck. Per the NHTSA id # below, this issue is a known issue. My vehicle is experiencing this issue and will not allow me to put fuel into my car. I am unclear why the NHTSA feels that this is just a technical bulletin rather than a recall. Why should the consumer be subject to replacing a faulting known design by the manufacturer, Audi, in this case. I am now going to have to pay an extract few thousand to have this issue resolved. I have been told that I have a fuel rail leak, which can cause a fire in the engine compartment. This is the same as NHTSA campaign number 19v035000, but that campaign only covers model years 2016-2018 for the Audi Q7. This same issue has surfaced with my 2019 Q7.
I am reporting a serious issue with the 2017 Audi Q7 involving excessive oil consumption. The vehicle burns 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles or less, requiring me to constantly add oil between regular oil changes to avoid engine damage. This is not normal and poses a serious safety risk if the engine runs dry during operation. Audi denied my buyback request without inspecting the vehicle or reviewing service records. Instead, their solution has been to provide free oil top-offs, which proves they are aware of the problem but are avoiding a permanent fix or recall. Other Audi Q7 owners, even with newer models and low mileage, report the same defect. This is a manufacturing defect that makes the vehicle unreliable and unsafe for normal driving. This can cause the vehicle to stall or stop suddenly while driving, especially at high speeds or in traffic. That’s a major safety risk. If the oil burns too quickly, the warning may come too late. The need to constantly monitor and add oil makes the car unreliable for everyday use. Regular oil changes are meant to keep the car safe and working smoothly. But if oil is burning quickly between changes, the car can’t be safely operated on a normal maintenance schedule, which defeats the purpose of service intervals and puts extra responsibility and risk on the driver. Audi’s refusal to issue a recall or perform proper repairs is deceptive and dangerous. I request NHTSA to investigate this issue and determine whether a recall is necessary for this known defect. It also breaches implied warranty of merchantability (ucc § 2-314).
First thing is fuel smell in cabin very dangerous for me as well as any passengers next is transmission there is no way telling how much fluid is in the vehicle that should be monitored by the consumer they have a right to know front & rear axles seem to get worn quickly must be a problem in the drivetrain somewhere.
I am writing to report on the results of a call on 08-01-22 to Audi USA regarding the current recall on Audi Q7 automobiles. I asked if the car was safe to drive and the representative could not answer the question. Her comment was that Audi has not issued a stop drive action. The recall notice states ". . . There may be a sudden loss of engine power or the vehicle may break down without a warning appearing beforehand. " this would seem to indicate that it is not safe to drive the vehicle. Our vehicle meets all the criteria mentioned in the recall as being effected. However, the Audi USA representative instructed me to contact my dealer to get the car assessed. The dealer was contacted and we were told they are waiting on guidance from Audi USA and there was no reason at this time to bring the car in for evaluation. In short, we are very concerned about driving this car from a safety standpoint and Audi USA has done nothing but identify the problem without any solution as of today. It should be noted that we have not experienced any problem yet, but given the unknowns of this situation, we are hesitant to drive the vehicle. Any help in causing Audi to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Top of fuel pump has crack causing fuel to leaks when in use.
I had the fuel filter flange crack and leak fuel into an area where an electronic plug exists. This leak was part of NHTSA recall #17v298 from 2017. I took my vehicle into the dealer and had it inspected per the letter sent to me. The dealers repair included placing a rubberized butyl tape over the flange that they claimed would prevent it from ever developing a leak of fuel. When I discovered the fuel leak and found it was leaking at the flange (thru the butyl tape) I phoned the dealer who would not take the car in for inspection for five days (their earliest appointment). I have one vehicle and being without one for five days was not a viable option for me. I purchased the part from the Audi dealership and replaced it myself correcting the fuel leak. I phoned Audi north America to file for re-imbursement of the 340 dollars I paid for the part and it was rejected as they claimed they had repaired my vehicle under the recall. I was able to locate on the internet where Audi was re-notifying owners of vehicles to have the part replaced after the tape had been installed as the tape was found to be a temporary non lasting band aid to a serious problem. I was never notified of the secondary letter and was told by Audi that my vehicle was not included in the secondary callback for repairs. The fuel leak occurs underneath the rear passenger seat with a thin aluminum cover over the fuel filter flange. When the flange began leaking, it fills up with fuel right under the seat causing a major safety issue considering it is installed on the top of the fuel tank. It was, a part that needed to be corrected immediately, and the Audi dealership left me no other option but to repair it myself. I feel that Audi failed to repair the vehicle correctly when I took it in for the recall repair in November of 2017. The put a band aid on a problem hoping the leak would never occur, but, when the leak occurred they failed to remedy the issue. Thank you.
