Problem is the brakes. Six months after purchasing this SUV, the brakes started to squeak a little when I slowed down or stopped. It would come and go, about 2 months after, it happened more often, but I waited since I had a maintenance coming up. I took it in for maintenance about 5,000 miles, mentioned it to the service attendant and he told me they would check. I picked up my Audi I was told they did not find anything wrong with my brakes. At that time the attendant mentioned that other Q7ʻs had something going on with the brakes, but not my Q7. I did not hear it for a couple weeks and then it started up again and off and on. Finally, it got so bad I took it in on oct 24, 2016, they called me to tell me that they could not find anything and I insisted there was a brake problem and I was afraid that the brakes were malfunctioning, so they asked me to come in and take it for a test drive with the service attendant. We went for a drive about 2 to 3 miles and when I stopped in the parking lot at the end of the street, lagoon drive, it squeaked a little and he heard it, then we drove back and when I slowed down to make the right turn into their street to the service department, attendant heard the squeak again, so he said to leave it another day and they would check it out. Still could not find anything, but they cleaned the brakes and whatever and said I probably ride the brakes, that was that. Picked it up on oct 26, 2016, it seemed ok for a day and then it started up again worse than ever! so took it in to service on Nov 23, 2016, checked it on Nov 28, 2016, found nothing wrong with the brakes, conclusion, I ride the brakes! spoke to the gm jeff lee and will not repair unless we pay for it! I have owned at least 20 new autos, this never happened before! frustrated and feel cheated!!! spent almost $90,000 with all the extras!.

Wife was pulling into a parking space and she depressed the break pedal. The pedal went straight to the floor without stopping the vehicle. The car (Audi Q7, 2015), continued to move forward until she hit the car parked in front of her. She quickly let off the break pedal and re-applied the brakes and the car stopped; although, this could have been attributed to the impact. Luckily this happened in a parking lot; however, now she is concerned that this could happen on the road at higher speeds. She took the car to the dealership, where they told us that they called corporate Audi about the situation and that they sent experts in to evaluate the car, who found nothing wrong (I guess the experts were able to come in and evaluate the car within 12 hours, as we dropped the car off after 5pm and they told us the next day that they could not find anything wrong with the system). They stated that there was nothing they could do since they did not find anything wrong with the car. This does not change the fact that it happened.
The car was slipping on ice when there was not that much ice. Then I was told it has an issue with an abs control module. The part is over $2500 and the car does not even have 70 000 miles. Vw has recalled this part and so should Audi before injuries and deaths occur.

My 2010 Audi Q7 has a serious braking issue. When the engine is started, if you put the vehicle into drive, it will roll forward and the brake will not stop the rolling. You must wait roughly 1 minute for the vehicle to not roll. The time is shorter in the summer, and longer in the winter. The brakes do not work, and it is as if the computer has a glitch. I will depress the brake, and the vehicle will roll forward about 10 feet. This happens in both reverse and forward. My concern is that one could start the car, immediately put it into gear, and hit a pendestrian, child, or other property and not be able to stop the car unless they intuitively know to put the car in neutral or park, which most drivers will not do. I am willing to show this to an NHTSA representative. I believe this needs to be investigated and Audi needs to recall these cars for a proper fix. I called Audi's north american hotline to report this, and the receptionist did not put me in touch with a manager or a safety representative. She said the car needs to go to the shop and be repaired. My auto mechanics say they can't repair this, and it is a manufacturer problem. Audi north America staff should have taken my information, passed it to a manager, and contacted me, but they refused to, saying it was a mechanical issue with my vehicle. I have no other options but to contact NHTSA. I have owned this car since 2014, I first noticed the problem then, and adapted to this problem. I should have told you much sooner than now. I apologize. I know how to deal with this problem, but if it is in any other Audis, there may be pedestrian injuries or deaths.

The excessive high idle speed after warm up in gear of 800-850 rpm is excessive. This high idle speed makes controlling the car in stop and go traffic difficult due to the high brake pedal pressure to keep the car from moving. The most difficult circumstance was having three tires on ice and one on dry pavement. The quattro drive transferred all the power to the one tire that had traction. I was unable to hold the car and bumped the car in front of me. No damage. The car has been in to the dealer twice to have this corrected and I have been informed that since model year 2008 the idle speed is not adjustable.
I started the lemon law process a year ago for this vehicle thinking that it was defective. I have only recently been informed that the problem I am experiencing is a design feature, they even called it a "safety feature" - but it is very dangerous. If your foot touches the brake pedal while your are accelerating, the engine will shutdown to an idle for several seconds, allowing the traffic that you are pulling out into to almost crash into you. With as many close calls as I have had, I am certain that there have been accidents (and perhaps deaths) reported with this vehicle where maybe the driver did not understand what had happened and, of course, nothing was ever found to be wrong with the vehicles because it was working as intended! let me explain my own situation a little better. First, I do not drive with my foot on the brake. But, subconsciously (I have discovered), at the most dangerous times (when I always noticed that this problem seemed to occur) I do put my left foot over the brake while my right foot is over the gas pedal. I do this because I want to be ready to press either one without any hesitation if needed. For example when turning left into busy traffic, or passing someone on a busy interstate. These are the times when this mostly happens to me. The problem is, of course, that if I even ever so slightly touch the brake pedal, the computer shuts the car down to an idle with no power, and instead of accelerating, my car begins to slow down! and I can do nothing about it for several seconds, after which time it very slowly "comes back to life". Now that I know how it works, it is very easy to duplicate this problem. It was very obviously designed this way and in my opinion, it is a very unsafe vehicle. Edit: there was no option for "software" in the drop-down list for complaint name. But this is very obviously a software issue. Also, date of incident, speed and mileage are n/a, as it happens at any speed since the car was purchased on 12/30/2009.
