1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2019

The front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor (oc3) mat has failed in my car. BMW extended the warranty on the e90 sedan and e91 wagon version of the 2007 328i but not the e93 convertible (which I have) the seat components are identical on all 3 model versions of that year. Why is the safety of e93 passengers less important than the passengers in the e90 and e91 when they share the same sensor? repair cost is $1,200 for a sensor BMW knows will fail. I want the 2007 e93 to be included in the extended warranty si b01 09 14.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2015

For two years my seatbelt sensor pad in the passengers side has been broken. The cost is $1400. I took it to the dealer only for them to say they don't see a recall on my car. I looked it up here and the same result. I research recalls on the 3 series 328xi on the internet and I see a seat sensor pad recall on some cars. What I don't understand is if it's the same sensor pad and/or same malfunction. Why is it only a fraction of the models? also it's unfair for you guys to make mistake with this information. By the time you have corrected the issue I will have died or paid for every defect out of my own pockets. Remember BMW is a business I am not. The new issues is something that I have never had happen in 20 years of driving. I hit an average size pothole and my suspension locked-up then later something snapped. It was the rear wheel drivers side. Its still in the shop but someone needs to look into the safety of all the vehicles and issue free repair or refund, ASAP. Also an issue with the fan but I a m running out of characters. To me it seems like most of the issue that you try to isolate by model are actual issues across all models and we need a solution. Better fix the issue now or later have someone's wheel come off on the highway. Or what if the air bag just never release? its your fault and BMW. You people sit on this information for years. They should be forced to come to my house and fix this shit!!!! or write me a check!!!!.

Failure Date: 06/17/2013

This inquiry is regarding NHTSA campaign number: 13v564000 and associated recall subject: front seat occupant protection mat. Vehicle VIN# kp35910 was excluded from the recall despite meeting the qualification criteria for this recall. Malfunction of the passenger restraint system was diagnosed by BMW of seattle on 06/17/2013. Particularly BMW of seattle stated the following: "passenger seat occupancy detector connected battery charger and performed system test found sensor faulty. Seat occupancy sensor faulty. Evidence report of the issue diagnostic is attached to this email communication. Failed restraint system in the vehicle VIN# kp35910 inadvertently deactivated the front passenger air bag that now in the event of a crash increases the risk of personal injury. Manufacturer should take full responsibility in remedying this manufacturer¿s defect that pose great safety risk to vehicles occupants. Because vehicle VIN# kp35910 meets the recall criteria of other vehicles in the recall category and it exhibits exactly the same defects with the passenger restraint system that is subject of the recall, BMW northwest must include VIN# kp35910 into recall and repair the defective seat occupancy sensor.

16 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2013

I purchased my BMW in germany!!! there was a recall for 2006 (I drive a 2007) models of this vehicle for the passenger seat occupancy sensor mat in the passenger seat. When this mat becomes defective, it disables airbag systems in the vehicles. This has been a known problem since 2008 (when the recall was issued), however these cars were produced from 2006-2008+ before the recall was issued. The recall only covers 2006 models which is absolutely ridiculous. If the same exact vehicle continues to be produced with the same defective part that have the same problem, but you only cover one year of it being produced when there were three, what good is that? why is it that I have to drive around in a car that has a known defective airbag system because of the defective detection mat and bet on my luck that I don't get in a serious accident and be caught with no air bags for safety. This is a serious problem. . .

18 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

The airbag sensor on my 2007 BMW 328i is malfunctioning. It matches the exact description as the recall and other filed complaints. However, BMW insists that my VIN is not covered by the recall.

19 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2012

I unlocked the car and sat in the driver's seat. My wife sat in the front passenger seat. I inserted the keyfob and pushed the 'start' button. The car turned on and about 5 seconds later we heard a 'gong' sound. We looked at the screen and it was showing a red warning about the front passenger airbag being disabled. I powered off the car, waited a minute and powered it back on. Same error came up. So I powered off the car a second time, asked the wife to get out of the car and then back onto the front passenger seat, then I powered on the car. The error went away. We drove 15 minutes to dinner, ate and returned home without further incident. That night I setup an appointment with global imports BMW for 9/12/2012 to have them look at it. The dealer ran diagnostics and reported the following in regards to the front passenger seat issue: "87844 performed short test and found fault mrs-93c3. Performed test module and found the passenger seat mat to be defective. Customer declined the seat mat replacement. " next to this I had the service manager write in the total repair cost, $1,345. 70. I still have a copy of the paperwork with the details if needed. I declined the repair at the time because I felt the fact they found ". . . The seat mat to be defective" indicated a known issue. Fast forward to today 4/11/2014, NHTSA lists a "recall subject : front seat occupant protection mat" campaign number 13v564000. I called BMW USA's customer relations number and they told me my car had no recalls associated with it even though there's clearly an issue with the sensor mat. To this day I have yet to receive any recall letter's from BMW nor NHTSA. The car still brings up this error when my wife sits in the front passenger seat. It's not safe and I should not have to pay for repairs if there's an active recall for this model year. Please help.

Passenger seat belt sensor is fault causing my airbag sensor to go off which indicates that there is a "failure in the passenger restraining system. " one day the light was off - the next day the light was on. There was no accident. This occurred on my 2007 BMW 328xi. There are similar recalls on 2009 Bmws? is there one for the 2007 model?.
