general problems of the 2007 BMW 335

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 335i. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled with the yellow check engine warning light displayed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle behind him came to a screeching halt to avoid causing a major accident. Multiple attempts to restart the vehicle failed, resulting in the vehicle being towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic determined the failure to be a defective high-pressure fuel pump. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.

The car stalled and lost power on highway. Engine light came on . Rough idling. First incident occurred September 2011. The second incident happened oct 26, 2011. Both times the car stalled and lost power on the highway. I believe that this created a very dangerous and life threatening situation for me and others on the highway.

Long cranking before my 07 BMW 335i starts. Engine loses power and goes into limp home mode! dealer reprogrammed my vehicle,but now it has no power! it also has a lot of turbo lag at the lower rev range!.

Car stalling and no power in the middle of the road while driving. No power to accelerate. This happened while I was making a u turn, cars was coming at me at a high rate of speed and I couldn't get power to accelerate. Tried pulling over safely. Car was oozing power and cant restart normally.

Sudden loss of power on highway. The car did not stop or cause an accident but reading articles about others who have had same problems where car stalled at highway speeds scares me to death.

Long cranks to start, shaking now while starting, engine service soon light appearing.

Started my car in the morning in about 400 feet after changing to 2nd gear and the clutch fully engaged drove 20 feet and the car bucked. No engine fault lights lit. Drove to work. At lunch time started the car and the engine light was lit anything about 1/4 throttle the car would bog down and slow down. Maximum speed was around 45mph with very little acceleration. Upon restart the car was running without the engine light and performance returned. I'm concerned this could happen at any moment such as merging onto the highway. This is a major safety concern when I have my family in the car. Contacted the dealer and they inspected the car the next day. They found the hpfp to be faulty and replaced it.
