1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 BMW 335

Failure Date: 06/25/2020

I was driving on the highway and the car was reading that it had gas, then suddenly it came to a stop, on the highway, the car was towed to the dealer, and it was found that the fuel level sensor had died making the car think it had gas when it in fact had none. The dealer wants to replace the entire tank for $2700, this issue is incredibly dangerous as it can leave anyone stranded anywhere. This car is only 6 years old and this issue can be found on Bmws much older then that. BMW knows about the issue, they know it is dangerous and they choose to continue making cars with this is issue. As far as I can tell BMW does not care about the drivers of its cars and only cares about making money by selling death traps to people. If you want to be left stranded and risk getting killed on the highway or getting stranded in the middle of no where, by a BMW. If not, buy a merc or Audi. This issue can happen if the car is under warranty as well. Any BMW that uses the gas tank from the f30 3 series is effected, as well as Bmws as far back as the e46.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 BMW 335

Failure Date: 06/29/2017

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i for about 4 years. Last month I was driving the car home after picking it up from dealer. I brought the car to the dealer because the crankshaft sensor failed and also went for the battery recall. Driving back from the dealer back to my apartment was about 30-40 minutes. So right when I pulled into the apartment parking lot, I noticed my trunk was smoking through my rear view mirror. I quickly tried to park somewhere empty, then I got out and I saw the rear end of the car was flaming up. It took less than 20 minutes, the entire car was covered with fire. Since the fire started from the rear, I am sure that's the battery wire connection that caused this. I am frustrated because I dd this car and only happen after the service from the dealer. Also why BMW design and position the freaking battery and wires behind the gas tank?.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 BMW 335

Failure Date: 09/08/2015

This is my third BMW. In all cases, the fuel sending units develop hairline fractures that cause fuel to leak; in my previous two cars this problem developed at around 75,000-80,000 miles. In the present car, the propulsion pump near the fuel tank also developed a hairline fracture. The substandard quality of these parts cause an unsafe condition whereby fuel leaks can cause a fire.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 BMW 335

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

This is a know fault problem that is directly tied to emissions of the deisel engine starting at 2008-2012 for all BMW deisel engines. Maybe even newer models. This so called scr temperature sensor that is located inside the def (urea) tank fails, which in term fails the smog inspection if it is not replaced. Some owners and dealers have replaced this tank/sensor ( which is one part together, cant buy separately) under emissions warenty. But most dealers will deny the fact this system is the primary system of emmission. And if it's not working how intended I'm sure emissions of this car won't meetc the federal or state requirment. Please look into this and get this fixed/ added to the emmission system failure list.
