17 problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2006 BMW 3 Series. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata recall- my airbag light is on- I have been waiting for almost 1 year for my airbag to be replaced. I keep getting told that there is no remedy available. The dealer name: ralph schomp BMW 1190 plum valley ln highlands ranch, CO 80129 1-888-205-2938.
The air bag light came on and I called BMW customer relations. They told me to take it to a BMW dealer to have the front seat occupant protection mat replaced under an extended warranty (NHTSA campaign number 13v564000). The BMW dealer in long beach said it isn't listed as a recall item and they want $180 just to perform a check to see if there is a problem, which is ridiculous.
Passenger airbag light went on and after my research found out there is a recall. BMW refuses to fix the issue as they claim that the VIN is not part of the recall. It is exactly as the recall. . . What do I need to do to get this vehicle under this recall? it is a major safety issue and should not be taken lightly.
Takata recall. My passenger front air bag light is on and no one is sitting in the seat. My car is in good condition.
The air bag and seatbelt sensor on the passenger side is on while driving the vehicle. The indicator lights are always on.
The airbag indicator light has been activated to what I have read to be due to a crack in the detection mat. I have taken my car to repair shops and all have confirmed the same issue. In the case that there is an accident, none of the airbags will be deployed, or airbags may be deployed without reason. I have grave concerns. I have made two phone calls to BMW with my concern for my safety and the safety of my passengers. BMW states that currently my particular VIN number is not listed on the recalls, but may be in the future. My car has the exact same issues as being reported as the previous two recalls, but since it was manufactured "just before the indicated recall dates" that I will not be reimbursed. If BMW cares about their customers' safety, I would not think waiting by the mailbox for a letter that may or may not arrive to inform me of another letter in March, is at all sufficient. Please let me know if I can do anything else to expedite a solution for my concern. Thank you for your time. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. For no reason the passenger and rear driver side seatbelt and airbag light came on while driving and stayed on forever. My 2006 BMW 325i has standard seat.
The passenger seat belt/air bag light went on intermittently for months, finally the dealership was able to get the error code. It was confirmed that there is an issue with this and BMW has known about it since 2008. Per their website they were going to send out recall notices to owners, we never recieved anything. BMW needs to make this right and fix the problem at no cost to owners.
My airbag light kept beeping at me every few minutes. It did not matter whether I had a passenger or not. I looked the issue up online and came across a recall that my car was known for. The mat under the passenger seat had malfunctioned and kept throwing off my airbag light. This would not allow my airbag to deploy in an accident. I was notified that the fix was going to be $$$. I had to have it fixed since its my only car and needed it in working order. BMW was contacted 3 different times about my problem and they acknowledged that it infact was a recall but all 3 times they said my VIN number did not qualify. When will my car qualify? I just spent 900 dollars to get the issue fixed and would like to be reimbursed.
Sitting in parking lot, engine off, key in ingn (listenting to radio). Air-bag warning lamp lights and has been on steady ever since. Passenger air bag disabled indicator also on. Called dealer to make appointment. I inquired about the recall and service advisor says no active recalls on my car. Seems that this is the exact fault identified in NHTSA campaign id number: 08v384000. This car has the "sport seats" which are specifically identified in the recall.
A warning indicator light came on telling me that the passenger restraint system was malfunctioning. At first it was occasional. Now the warning is on every time I get in the car with or without a passenger. I would like to have the car included in recall 08v384000.
The contact owns a 2006 BMW 3 Series. The contact stated the front passenger air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and denied assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2006 BMW 325. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated for the last few months. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was later notified and they informed him that there were no recalls on his vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
The passenger airbag light comes on when someone is sitting in the seat. Sometimes it comes on when there is no one in the seat. This has been going on for the four years I have owned the car and BMW says there is no recall or can fix it. I have read on the internet other people with the exact same problem and have said there was a recall and have had the sensor looked at. This is a safety issue and needs attention.
Passenger airbag light came on noting passenger restraint malfunction. BMW issued a voluntary recalls on the 2006 3 Series but when I call to verify, they said that my vehicle is not covered in the recall. I think that my vehicle should be included in the recall since it is the same model year and has the same symptons noted in the recall.
The contact owns a 2006 BMW 3 Series. On July 24, 2009, the contact started the vehicle and noticed that the frontal air bag light was illuminated. The manufacturer stated that her VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 08v384000 (air bags: frontal); therefore, she will be responsible for the repair cost. The failure and current mileages were 70,000.
I have a 2006 3 Series with a malfunctioning air bag indicator system. This vehicle series was recalled under NHTSA action number ea08001. I have contacted BMW north America twice and they will not confirm that I am in the recall but each time ask me to take the car to the dealer to have the issue repaired at my expense. The seat belt and airbag light in conjunction with the "airbag is not active" in the passenger seat is always on when a passenger is in the seat. This malfunction has been on going for at least six months. BMW na also claims not to have a VIN number list that they have in their possession, although they do say recall notices are being sent out. This seems rather odd if they are sending out recalls for VIN numbers that they don't know are being recalled. I am concerned for the passengers and cannot seem to get BMW to acknowledge the NHTSA recall or the vehicle.
