1 Engine Head Gasket Leaking problem of the 2007 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

Burning smell in cabin. Changed cabin air filter without any improvement. Dealer. Oil from valve cover gasket leakage is an issue in this model. Did internet research. Apparently not uncommon at all to have this problem. This is a health hazard-smoke inhalation and also a fire hazard. I contacted BMW corporate office and was told this can happen. No further information given.

2 Engine Head Gasket Leaking problem of the 2008 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 08/09/2014

I was informed the valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket were leaking, which caused a problem with the eccentric shaft sensor. I paid for a new valvetronic motor, eccentric shaft sensor, valve cover and gaskets, and oil filter housing gasket, and the associated repair. Fast forward 3 months, I go in for a oil change and am told that again I have a significant leak from the valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket.
