Regarding the takata airbag recall for my model BMW, the priority zone a includes the hotter southern states incl florida. My car is in canada and currently not under a recall notice; however, the car spent many years in florida, as my parents resided in florida every winter for 6 months, and then summers in canada. I am concerned as the propellant in question degrades faster in hot climates, and since I reside in canada, the priority is low. Please advise.

We arrived at church, and I remained behind finishing my makeup. My husband locked the car with the fob out of habit, and my foot was holding the passenger door open. Forgetting the door had been locked with the fob, I accidentally allowed the passenger door to close. I had no keys. Services began, not a soul in site outside. I began to panic when I could not get the door or any other to open. The alarm would not trigger, and the sunroof was cracked accidentally about an inch. It was July. I could not get anyone to hear me, and could not get any door or window ajar. Eventually I was able to get the attention of an elder, who went and retrieved the keys and got me out. I was soaked in sweat, using an inhaler about every 20 minutes, extremely scary. The other time this happened, my son was sitting in the car but the alarm went off and would not let him out until I came with the fob. He was 15, so he was not young. I had no idea he could not exit the vehicle should he choose. I know there is some emergency release in the hatch somehow but could not locate. Air bags were scheduled to be replaced, had rental scheduled with dealership, drove 45 minutes to leave car for repair, but they had no rental as was promised, so I returned home in the vehicle.

My car is seeing error lights for the passenger restraint system, and the dealer informed me that I should replace the oc3 mat at a cost of $2021. I see that this part is covered under recall for some similar age 525xi models, so I am unclear why this problem doesn't extend to my vehicle if this is a common problem with these models. Is this under evaluation for a possible future recall?.

BMW is using the recall to force people back into their service center. Even when a repair isn't required. Then, they tell you that there are 100 other things that are needed on your vehicle. Attached are the samples of the documents. This behavior is fraudulent and deceptive. Even though they know my vehicle does not need this airbag, they continue to send annoying letters.

I was on my way to work and had driven only 4 1/2 miles at 6:55am on Thursday, August 15, 2019. I was about 1/2 from work on a city street when smoke began coming out the air vents and steering column. A smell of plastic, electrical filled the car and I pulled into the nearest place when the smoke was quickly increasing. My son and I jumped out of the car and called 911. The fire department arrived almost immediately, and upon pulling up, before they could get out of the truck, the driver's side curtain airbag exploded, the firemen heard the explosion. By the time they pulled their hoses and lifted the hood, smoke was heavily coming from the car. When the airbag exploded, a large piece of plastic shrapnel was blown to the passenger side of the car and stuck between the windshield and the window and stuck into the edge windshield frame. The firefighters tried for several minutes to get the source under control and finally was able to when they disconnected the battery. I had my car towed to BMW columbus, they "repaired the recall" and said that the fire was not a result of the recall. I believe that if the firefighters did not respond as quickly as they did because they were nearby, then my car would have gone up in flames.

Passenger air bag restraint light is activated.

My passenger seat belt restraints and airbag warnings light comes on. I saw that this year was included in my model 525i, but BMW of honolulu said my bin shows no recall? I'm confused and upset on how BMW can risk such a safety issue by not including all affected by this especially my year and model class because it's obviously an issue we all are having around the same exact time. Is there a solution or should I give up on BMW for such neglect for my safety and yours?.

Was dropping off a passenger and when I parked on a city street . He took his seatbelt off and opened the passenger door . When he got off the seat I noticed two lights come on in the dashboard . Then the notification came up on my menu screen displaying restraint austen malfunction . I've looked up my 2006 BMW 525i to notice it happening to allot of the same year make and model as mine.

The air conditioning system is not working properly. The car does not cool or get cold until the car is in motion. I have a 2006 BMW 525i and receiving pass. Restaint system malfunction affecting the airbag. This is a problem BMW should service as they are famous for these malfunctions. It is dangerous and its ruins the integrity of the vehicle.

I get seat belt/airbag communication fault.

Passenger airbag faults has shown up on my 2006 BMW 525i. This is the 2nd time it shows up. The front passenger airbag is deactivated with this fault and will not protect passenger in case of an accident. First time, I had to fix it myself because my VIN was not included in the voluntary recall notice sent by BMW. Now it is happening for the 2nd time. I had it check at a service station and it is because of another issue in the same system. Each repair costs approx. $1000. BMW north America has to take responsibility for this.

The passenger restraint system alarm came on for the first time while sitting in a parking lot. BMW says that my vehicle, a 2006 BMW 525xi is not captured under the current recall 13v564000, which fixes this problem.
