Failure Date: 11/20/2024

I am having the exact problem that recall 24v608 has described but BMW USA and dealership will not fix my issue under the recall. This issue had occurred [xxx]. And inspected by my independent service center and identified the issue as the recall. The water pump is running out of control after the engine is off. The water pump is leaking at electrical connector. However BMW has stated they do not have a remedy to the recall as of 1-3-25, 5 months after NHTSA put out the recall announcement. BMW USA. The remedy has stated that water pump and electronic to be replaced and a shield to be put in place. I am sure that the replacement water pump and electronic is currently available, just the shield may not be available. As NHTSA has issued this recall and has a potential of fire. I believe BMW should as a minimum replace current faulty parts of the recall now. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

59 Electrical System problem of the 2008 BMW 528

Failure Date: 10/05/2024

I bought a 2008 528i July 2024. Got emissions & tag at the end of August. Oct 5 2024. My car was on fire. Drove the car 11 mins got out for a few mins got bk in crunk the car and a flame shot out of what I'm assuming is a fuse box on the driver side. The car had flames coming from under the steering wheel area in the dash. When we crunk the car we could smell wire burning at first. Then flames. . The vehicle has an active recall that clearly says a pcv heater valve will cause the vehicle to over heat and short circuit causing a fire. Wiring harness needs to be replaced by adding a fuse to keep this from happening. The car was having issues passing the emissions. It was throwing a code something to do with the crankcase positioner something to do with emissions. The car started running rough and idling rough before the fire happened. I sent BMW pics and the fire report. The fire report states it was an electrical fire. I never looked under my hood bc I was afraid I'd get burned. Not sure if anything else was damaged under the hood. Bc my vehicle is 16years old BMW will not even send an inspector out to the garage where the vehicle sits just a month after getting it on the road. . They first said it had aftermarket lights on the right side of the car by looking at pics I sent. That is false it's not even a light BMW placed a reflector sticker cc when they made the vehicle it peeled off after the first wash. This same technician that doesn't know a light from a reflector then claimed my wiring harness is aftermarket bc he says he can't see BMW sticker. It was a fire the car is damaged the sticker prolly melted along with the fuse box. . I ask that BMW respect my vehicle that I just saved my $ to purchase 107,000 miles on it should hv never caught on fire. . I need an inspector to go out and check my vehicle in person. . Not guess and claim aftermarket parts. I'm not the only person this has happened to. Someone is gonna get killed bc of Bmws manufacturing company. This is serious.

60 Electrical System problem of the 2012 BMW 528

Failure Date: 10/02/2024

My BMW started leaking fluid 4 months ago. Lights on dash came on one light was the triangle light which engine light. I had it serviced completely oil & filter change hooked up to machine that checks all components senors everything checked out great. One week later I was driving I was coming to a stop my brakes sounded like they were grinding next day had mechanic check the brakes all good. Next day I am pulling out of attorney parking lot as I am turning the steering wheel my BMW makes a load screaming cracking noise so I turn my steering wheel up right to drive straight it makes the same noise. I stop to look around my vehicle to see if anything is leaking or dragging nothing was dragging but maybe one or drops of something I touched the solution to feel if it was water or oil? it felt oily so I drove to my mechanic he lifted it up on the racks. We both could see some solution was leaking around possibly where engine oil plug is then we saw it had been leaking back to middle of my vehicle water area and running back to the middle of my vehicle. My mechanic decided to put the machine that checks for certain items on vehicles I know it checks my sensors not sure what else?? he and a couple of the other mechanic stop and help him. I left my vehicle he let me drive his vehicle home he wanted to check other issue tomorrow. Next day I got to the mechanic he said he knew it needed a transfer case and 4 sensors he said it would take time to buy a new transfer case for 2012 BMW 528i xl so to leave my vehicle with him. Then I get this letter today 12/13/24 from BMW dated 10/2024 it states there defect which relates to motor vehicle safety issue which means a part is being recalled on my vehicle!! my question my vehicle has already gotten damaged by this recall I am trying to fix the problems plus paid already $1500.
