42 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2013 BMW 528

Failure Date: 01/16/2025

-drivetrain warning message was displayed, indicated to drive moderately, and moments later car sputtered and ceased to operate. Mechanic inspected and reported the timing chain failed and is to blame. Also, the engine may be impacted due to fraying parts that may have entered engine values over the course of time. Vehicle may be available for inspection for a short period of time (sold car to mechanic for very nominal amount). -my teenage daughter was driving the car when the above occurred and broke down on a busy highway. Thankfully, she avoided a collision. The police were called and the car towed. This could have been extremely harmful to both my daughter and the general public. -an independent mechanic diagnosed the issue and confirmed the issue. -the vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. The manufacturer (BMW) did perform an extensive evaluation and repair of the coolant line approximately two months ago but did not mention this issue. -I believe the drivetrain warning displayed once or twice with a message to drive moderately. On recollection, this was after the visit to fix the coolant issue. -we purchased the car new in 2013, were the only owners, and I expected much more from BMW. We are very upset given the potential harm that could have occurred. Also, I have since read about a class action lawsuit impacting this very same issue and pertaining to our year, make, and model. We were not informed of this lawsuit, nor did we receive a recall notice for the defective timing chains in these models. I took a substantial loss on this vehicle as compared to its fmv had this not occurred.

47 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 BMW 528

Failure Date: 12/27/2024

Subject: complaint regarding transmission malfunction and potential safety hazard to whom it may concern, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a recurring issue with the transmission system of my vehicle. The vehicle has been displaying a transmission error code related to the shift pedal; however, no corresponding error message appears on the dashboard. This lack of clear diagnostic messaging significantly complicates the identification and resolution of the issue. The situation escalates in severity as the transmission malfunction light intermittently illuminates while driving. This behavior is alarming, as it poses a serious safety risk. The malfunction light often appears during traffic, raising concerns about the potential for stalling while the vehicle is in motion. Such an occurrence could lead to hazardous conditions for both the driver and surrounding traffic. I strongly urge the appropriate department to address this matter immediately. Given the critical nature of the transmission system, any malfunctions must be treated as safety-related defects. Please prioritize the investigation and resolution of this issue to ensure driver safety and vehicle reliability. I expect a prompt response outlining the steps being taken to rectify this situation and prevent further risks. 68 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2008 BMW 528

Failure Date: 10/05/2024

I bought a 2008 528i July 2024. Got emissions & tag at the end of August. Oct 5 2024. My car was on fire. Drove the car 11 mins got out for a few mins got bk in crunk the car and a flame shot out of what I'm assuming is a fuse box on the driver side. The car had flames coming from under the steering wheel area in the dash. When we crunk the car we could smell wire burning at first. Then flames. . The vehicle has an active recall that clearly says a pcv heater valve will cause the vehicle to over heat and short circuit causing a fire. Wiring harness needs to be replaced by adding a fuse to keep this from happening. The car was having issues passing the emissions. It was throwing a code something to do with the crankcase positioner something to do with emissions. The car started running rough and idling rough before the fire happened. I sent BMW pics and the fire report. The fire report states it was an electrical fire. I never looked under my hood bc I was afraid I'd get burned. Not sure if anything else was damaged under the hood. Bc my vehicle is 16years old BMW will not even send an inspector out to the garage where the vehicle sits just a month after getting it on the road. . They first said it had aftermarket lights on the right side of the car by looking at pics I sent. That is false it's not even a light BMW placed a reflector sticker cc when they made the vehicle it peeled off after the first wash. This same technician that doesn't know a light from a reflector then claimed my wiring harness is aftermarket bc he says he can't see BMW sticker. It was a fire the car is damaged the sticker prolly melted along with the fuse box. . I ask that BMW respect my vehicle that I just saved my $ to purchase 107,000 miles on it should hv never caught on fire. . I need an inspector to go out and check my vehicle in person. . Not guess and claim aftermarket parts. I'm not the only person this has happened to. Someone is gonna get killed bc of Bmws manufacturing company. This is serious.
