Other Fuel System Problems of BMW 528 - part 1

Concern- smoke coming out of back exhaust at start up cause - taylor BMW (dealership) - possible needs updated oil line, turbo may be leaking internally correction- dealership pulled faults to see if cat efficiency faults were present, saw none. Did verify smoke on startup. Doesn’t look like the turbo oil feed line has been changed (updated with check valve). There is some oil encrusted on the body of turbo. Would replace all lines since turbo removal is required for any of them; however once cat is off and if the chamber inside is wet with oil, at that point it would need a turbo as well as the lines. The above is the written diagnosis from dealership and I was quoted a price ranging from $2600- 4600- in 2016, NHTSA issued a notice for certain models/ years regarding the turbocharger feed lines (extending warranty for that part to 10 years / 120k miles). My 2016 was cpo and has only 84k (all maintenance performed by BMW) and I believe it should fall under eligible vehicles. I have reached out to BMW customer care, spoken with a case manager , all to no avail.

I started my BMW up one day after working 16 hours and white thick smoke came from the back tailpipe. Tok it to BMW and they said my car is leaking oil on to the turbo and I need to replace the pump, shocks, valves and others because of this leak. And the car started to issue a transmission fault code on the screen.

The car smells like gas by the rear wheels. In speaking with other owners of this vehicle this is a defective flaw in the vehicle it is a known problem in this vehicle and there has been no recall. This is a serious concern as gasoline is highly flammable. I have had to spend thousands of dollars fixing problems with this car and I cannot afford to fix this issue. This is a major concern. Please advise a fix ASAP.

The check engine light is displayed, a drivetrain malfunction message is being displayed and the engine's power output has been reduced the issue is diagnosed as turbocharger wastegate valve actuator I would like for BMW to extend the limited warranty for this issue to 2014 BMW 528i.

Leak error messages that cannot be removed until recall issue with fluid leak is fixed. Leak is corroding engine fuel lines and can cause a fire will driving. The remedy is taking to long to be deployed. Need assistance with this issue.

For a while now, I had been smelling gas around the car. I had it smogged and it passed but the technician told me that it smelled as if it were running rich because he smelled gas. It did not make sense to me that it could be running rich because it would not have passed smog then. I went to the supermarket recently and as I came out, I saw a small puddle of liquid under the left rear seating area. I touched it and smelled it and it was gas. My car leaves a little puddle of gas wherever I park now. I just saw a video on youtube called "my BMW 535i has a fuel leak. " that has been the problem a lot of people are having with their biodegradable BMW plastics. In the video, the young man describes that the fuel filter starts leaking and he has to spend $190. 00 in parts. I don't have that money to be throwing away right now. Please look into and help us out.

Fuel tank ventilation system malfunctioning.

Car engine caught on fire while driving today and stopped. No smoke or other issues prior. Worried this is related to the recall issued by BMW recently, however my car is not covered under the recall yet. The car is currently located in vancouver canada. It was purchased in tulsa, ok.

I have two BMW cars: BMW 528xi 2008 wbanv13528cz53451 BMW 328xi. 2007 wbavc93577k034618 both are under active recall notice with no remedy available; I have contacted BMW USA for solutions: 1. Repair the vehicles 2. Offer loaner 3. Buy back the vehicles they have refused all of the above my cars are a possible fire hazard when driven; kindly explore all options available if no remedy is available from the manufacturer; much obliged waseem naik 609-379-2677 princeton, NJ.

While driving on the grand central plwy, queens, NY, a drive train motification came on and stated to drive moderately, right after the oil light came on. We were near a gas station, and added a quart of oil. The oil light went out, the car started without hesitation. We decided to go home, we got off the highway about a mile out, the car just stopped went into park and could not start again. It would crank over, but not connect. We were on a four lane road, luckily there was no one behind us, it could have been a terrible incident. The car was towed to a BMW dealership in great neck, NY and we were told it was either the engine or the timing chain and it was not worth fixing. The car was then towed to my mechanic, who stated there was a technical warning #n20 & n26 regarding the timing issue. Hoping something can be done.

Vehicle stalled while on highway.

While driving on highway at 65 mph the vehicle electrical system began to go haywire and the power steering and brakes both stopped functioning making it impossible to control vehicle. I was nearly struck by several vehicles because of the suddenness of the shutdown. I was able to subsequently stop vehicle in the left lane without incident. Vehicle towed to BMW of turnersville where diagnosis was faulty fuel pump !! cost of repair $2,000. .

The car started to leak gas from the tank.

Drivetrain malfunction, car is shutting off while in drive and vehicle is not safe to drive. Vehicle is only at 66k miles.

The vehicle lost power, while in motion, in the middle of the road after accelerating. The car gave an error code of drivetrain malfunction. My car lost power in the middle of a busy city street, and it could have easily led to a terrible accident. Possibly related to NHTSA campaign number: 16v746000 but my car was not included in the recall.

BMW 528i 2016 car that is little over 4 years less just hit 35k mileage lost all its fuel injectors, coils and plugs. Below is the summary of diagnosis. 35146 fuel injectors faulty. Confirmed ses light is on. Dme stored sourced from the vehicle misfire faults on multiple cylinders. Dme also stored fault 118002 "mixture too rich," worked through test plan. Performed engine test and manufacturer and backed by determined cylinders 1, 2, and 4 injectors faulty. Diagcode: its limited warranty. D1350 00000000 01 002. Removed all spark plugs and found spark plugs 2, 3, and 4 fuel soaked. Recommend replace all 4 fuel injectors and spark plugs. Also recommend replace all 4 ignition coils as a preventative total cost estimated is around $4500; BMW north America is not acknowledged there is an issue with car or model.

Car begin to stall on traffic, drivetrain malfunction light appeared. . Took it to BMW dealer my fuel pump replace with new ekp module- which is the same recall that BMW issued in 2017 which included the model/year vehicle that I have.

I was driving on the road and I accelerated a lil bit faster to beat the traffic light and then my car loss power and stalled out and I got stuck in the middle of the bridge and I was causing traffic the power train malfunction and the fuel supply light cam on and the charge battery light came on I try starting it but it wouldn't start and the fuel supply light kept coming on and some wiring problem was going on when trying to start it my tv screen would turn orange and the speedometer where the mph/gas/temperature/and rpm would twitch like some electrical problem.

I bought a certified BMW and had continuous issues with my engine, constantly refilling the oil, even after service. After taking this to the dealer, I was told that everything was fine and there weren't any issues. All of this finally came to a head-on Sunday, 6/21/2020 when my car finally came to an abrupt stop. After towing, I was told that this is a timing chain issue and would cost me $7,400 which wouldn't necessarily remedy the issue, I heard this could reach towards 15-20k. I find this hard to believe after having only driven this car on avg 8k/year and having roughly 84k miles in total. My experience with BMW has since been painful to say the least since. I've had this towed twice in 2 days, been given an ultimatum on either fixing the vehicle or buying a new one - when asking for a loaner, I was told that I needed contact enterprise and reserve one on my own. I've owned multiple german cars and never had to deal with this level of unprofessionalism.

I was driving on the freeway and my car suddenly stopped running and shut down on me mid freeway! I stepped on gas pedal and nothing! it turned off on me and wouldn't turn on! now it turns but gas won't work! I believe there is a problem with the gas pump of something regarding gas fuel! I had to call my car insurance to tow my car when I became stranded on the freeway.

Warning for chassis stabilization is on, I encountered not being able to accelerate and had the car towed. I was on a main road and I got rear ended immediately after I was not able to accelerate and I had my hazard lights flashing.

I was merging onto a highway from another highway when all of sudden the car decelerated out if nowhere and a error message displayed on my dashboard fuel system error/ drivetrain malfunction engine speed will be reduced. The car acted as though I had absolutely no power as I coasted to a safe place off the highway.

The vehicle engine light comes on everytime the engine heats up to normal operation. Tempareture and the revs up temporarily making it difficult every year to do emissions testing.

Was driving doing 30 mph on a no traffic city street. . And the car started shaking then the engine light came on. Put the scanner and code p0087 is what it read.

There are a few recalls for my car but wen I put in my VIN to search ,it says 0 recalls but I seen online that there are many recalls.

While driving, my car stalled suddenly without giving me a prior warning. It put me in an extremely dangerous situation. BMW diagnosed failure in the fuel supply system. This must be investigated. This problem has also seen in other BMW models. I have 80000 miles on my car. The car is always serviced by BMW dealership.

I notice my car taking longer to start with the push bottom then I notice a strong smell of gas while the ac started so I checked under the hood and the smell got stronger. So now I want to now why it's happening. Thankbuou.

I had just purchased a car but a month ago I was driving to lunch and I was at a stop sign when the light turned green I started to go the car started shaking and smoke was coming out of the front under the hood I had just an oil change so I took it back to the oil change shop. They could not figure out why the engine blew and I had to take it to a different BMW shop where I have to purchase a rebuilt motor and pay for the repairs. I can request all records from the automotive shop if needed.

While accelerating the car jumps into neutral randomly. Whether from a slow start or accelerating on a highway. It has happened dozens of times and the dealer says there is no fix.

Car shut down without any warning , it will cause a major and serious damage, happened with another family member own a same car.

Car stalls while driving on the highway and message pops up on the screen saying �fuel supply full drive performance not available,drive moderately and car shutdown and won't start. After an hour or so it will start back up . Took it to the shop twice but no codes . This has happened 3 times.

The car smells as fuel is leaking and the headlights blink in and out. . . My trunk stop opening with key fob.

The contact owns a 2012 BMW 528xi. While driving 10 mph, the engine stalled and the "fuel supply performance not available drive moderately� warning message displayed. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
