Water Pump problems of the 2010 BMW 750

Three problems related to water pump have been reported for the 2010 BMW 750. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2018

After I diagnosed a parasitic battery draw when the car has been off overnight. I found the auxillary water pump for the intercoolers still running drawing 5 amps when the car is off. This is the same exact issue I found with the recall 18v-248 I'm quite lucky my car didn't catch on fire yet.

2 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2018

The contact owns a 2010 BMW 750li. While the vehicle was being driven at unknown speeds, it overheated. The vehicle was taken to BMW greenwich and BMW mamaroneck service (110 midland Ave, port chester, NY 10573, (914) 881-3600) where it was diagnosed that the auxiliary water pump and water pump sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v521000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

3 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

The contact owns a 2010 BMW 750i. While operating the vehicle, an amber colored smoke was present under the hood of the vehicle. Occasionally, the vehicle would not start immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (sidrey BMW in greenvale, SC) where it was diagnosed that the electronic auxiliary water pump overheated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v521000 (engine), although the failures were identical. The failure mileage was 64,000.
