On 4/10/2021 around 10:45 am I was on east indepndance blvd at a red light. As I proceeded to drive my front panoramic sunroof blew out. As a retired navy vet I thought I was getting shot at and slowed the car down maintain course and realized the air russhing from my sunroof. On this day I already had a scheduled maintaince at the BMW dealsership. I proceeded to pull in and the notice I was really frantically alert showed them the sunroof and explained. They can't figure out how that occured. The vehicle is a 2017 BMW xi drive with only 22000 miles roughly and I only had the vehicle since August 2020. I'm hoping bmy pays for this and not hit my insurance. I could of caused some serious injuries if I wasn't focused due to my military training. I failed to take pictures of the glass. The vehicle is currently at 6550 e independence blvd charlotte n. C hendrick BMW.

Driver side doors sometimes will not open from the inside when using the door handle forcing me to reset the automatic locks from the center dashboard control. I brought it to my BMW dealer and was told that door cables can stretch even with normal use and need to be replaced at a cost of $580. I had a simialr problem with previous 2012 BMW 7 series and one one occasion I had to drive holding the door shut until I reached the service center. I also had to replace a hood cable on my 2012bmw 750 as that cable failed as well and I could not open the hood. The problem with my door is intermittent and my concern is that if there is an accident or fire I may be trapped in the vehicle if I am unable to quickily open the door. . BMW was unwiling to cover this as my warranty had just expired. I would think that many owners may not know of this potential probelm until it is too late and someone is injured due to the poor quality cables that BMW seems to be using in its vehcles.

I dropped off my 2008 BMW 750 li on October 11, 2018 to the concord BMW dealer for the door latch recall. Recall # 17v-328. I had mentioned to the service writer that the passenger side front door and driver side rear door not close completely sometimes. And occasionally become half closed and dashboard warning light on while driving. The service writer said he will check all 4 doors for this recall. When I pick up the vehicle on October 12, 2018, I discovered that the 2 door latches that still not work properly. I talked to the service writer regarding the door latches still have the same problem prior to leaving. He explained to me that the recall is only for reprogram the defective code and it does not cover the door latch not work repair. I would like to know if the reprogram is a sole remedy for this safety recall. Enclosed please find a copy of the concord BMW dealer's invoice # 888479 dated October 12, 2018. Thank you for your kind attention and looking forward to your early reply!.

Recall - sticking rear door handles southpoint bwm in durham north carolina refuses to cover the repair. Service manager states the problem is in-related to the recall.
After dropping my daughter (who was sitting in the rear seat of my car) to her school in the morning, I was driving to work. I confirmed that all the doors were closed and latched after she exited the car. Just before reaching my work location, the driver side rear door unexpectedly opened while the vehicle was in motion. After stopping, the open door could not be closed or latched again. I called BMW USA about the problem and they told me there is an active recall on my car (us NHTSA campaign id - 17v328000) and I should take my car to dealer to fix. I had to tape the door shut and take the car to dealer to fix the problem. I cannot imagine what would have happened if the door had opened while in motion when my daughter was sitting in the rear seat. The experience has been very scary.
Door will not close on the front driver and passage side, driving down the street and the door flew open had it not been for my seat-belt I could have fallen out, very frightening to have other cars driving beside me and the door opened like that and it will not lock period no way to secure vehicle. I was told by the dealership they had not resolution, no way to repair it is unknown to me what is causing this problem but there is a recall. I was told to call BMW national so I did and spoke with kala at 800-831-1117 ext 8561, she provided a number with ext to give to the dealership. I spoke with jay at the dealership 713-597-7895. Rear driver side door flies open in traffic. Car was moving on a city street while turning.
Doors will not latch I spoke with dealer he wanted me to spend$195 before he worked on my car I explain after reaching the problem and found a recall on one of the sensor s. Still refuse to repair without me spending $195.
The driver side door will not close. The suction mechanism does work and there is no backup system to ensure the door latches. It is a most severe safety flaw. There many complaints of this issue all over the internet for BMW cars. This is definitely a recall issue and the grosses of safety neglect by the car manufacturer. The car was stationary when this occurred. There is currently no recall for this safety flaw which is just completely absurd. Given the many complaints and the fact that this is a 2008 vehicle.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 BMW 750i. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph that the driver door failed and opened without warning. My driver's side door at times doesn't close, when it first occurred, I thought that maybe something was blocking the door preventing it from closing because it seemed to bounce back open, I tried to close it again, I was exiting my car and again it wouldn't close and bounced back open. I jiggled the door handle and on the third attempt the door closed. I didn't think much about it until it happened again when I had exited my car and the door bounced back open. I didn't jiggle the handle this time but attempted to shut it again, and it wasn't until the third time that I tried to shut it again that it finally closed. This has happened two more times and by the third time, I started googling door problems in 750li and saw that there was a recall for 2005 - 2007 for the "soft close" function malfunctioning? this is the exact same problem that is occurring with my 2008 750 li, why wasn't 2008 included in the recall? I had my car into the BMW dealership and they couldn't reproduce the problem but I know that is what is wrong with the car door?.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated that the door latches failed to function and the dealer (jmc BMW auto, 310-654-4067) replaced the rear passenger side door latch. Months later, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v328000 (latches/locks/linkages) and was waiting for the manufacturer to determine if the remedy and parts were available to receive the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Dyd.
A SUV traveling at 20 miles per hr hits passenger side of a 750 li traveling crossing a 2 way intersection spins the cars in a circle with skid marks on the highway damage the passenger side of the door and the lower panel of car and only there bumper was loose and it was driveable how is that a SUV traveling at such slow speed as I been told can do such do as much damages to a 750 li and the car is totaled.
While driving on a city street at 35 mph, the front passenger door unexpectedly unlatched. That door had not been opened in over a week and the door appeared to be closed before this incident.
The driver side door will not close shut. This starting occurring intermittently in early may 2016 and took several attempts of lifting the door handle several times before the soft lock would take. Today 22 may 2016, the door failed to close and lock after multiple attempts and extensively exercising the door handles from both inside and outside the vehicle. Fortunately the car was not in motion during the many times the problem occurred, but it should be obvious that the vehicle cannot be driven safely if the door does not close. In reading up and educating myself on this defect, this appears to have been a known issue in the previous year of this same model but for whatever reason, the recall was not extend to the 2008. I love the BMW 7 series particularly this 750, but I will have to end my 12 year marriage of owning BMW¿s if they choose not to remedy this defect in the 2008.
On my way to work the door disengaged and opened on me, very scary and dangerous, I found info on recall campaign 12v-504 soft close automatic function. . . . . . Called some local dealers about the issue not only do I receive vague run around replies stating 1st the car doesnt match recall then after I show them the paper all of a sudden the car was called in already and fixed even tho same issue is back but now uh OH warrenty is out cant do anything, this is pathetic they look for any reason to cop out and refuse to even inspect with out charging $200 ! its unnecessary to have to pay $200 to tell me the door is broken I can see that. I could have gotten seriously hurt or worse died driving the car like this and Bmws enthusiastic attempts to look for any excuse to refuse repair is sickening. My car drivers door doesnt close I tell BMW dealer my car matchs year make model and defect specifically matching recall, it says in recall not to drive like that ! , service advisor person litterally looked at computer looked back at me and said the computer says your car got inspected for recall already, but oddly couldnt tell me where it was fixed which door malfunctioned or how it was repaired. No reciept re print no helpful info at all just idk itll be $200 to inspect and we close early today then said have a nice day good luck, they let us drive off in that nasty condition couldnt say who what where the car was already seen for recall just that I was screwed and car 1st didnt match recall then changed to was called in for recall but no assistance for when sypmton re appeared. Just a "did you make appoinment?" have you purchased here before?" "we are busy today and closing soon" how conveint for BMW, not so much for me and my family tho, no concern for customer safety at all. . . . . . .
Passenger side door opens on its on as stated in recall threatening the safety nad life of my passenger my air bag warning lights are constantly displayed. My air bag system is now compromised and this is another BMW recall on vehicles in this years make and model. But vehicle is exhibiting all of these defects/problems but I am excluded. Id like to know the legality of my exclusion before I go further with any legal action when I attempted to move my vehicle initially the first instance of occurrence caught my attention concerning the door. And the air bag warning stays on from the time I start the car until I turn it off .

Airbags never popped open, door handle opened and is still not shutting correctly. Since my car was paid in full, I did not carry full coverage only liability so I did not file a claim. I paid the damages out of my own pocket and just this week I've paid the last $1200. 00 of the part ordered for last of repairs. In total ive paid a little over 15,000 out of my own money.
My vehicle has a drivers side defective door latch leaving the door to occasionally not close properly and unexpectedly open. This is a critical vehicle component that is not serving its purpose causing potential loss of vehicle control or injury to persons inside and outside the vehicle. Due to extremely poor design my vehicles navigation/audio components are inoperable. Leakage of fluid from the trunk hydraulic shock down onto the navigation system has resulted in wiring system problems that may result in fire and or loss of lighting. I have maintained my vehicle since purchase with the most attentive and prestigious service. I am extremely concerned and disappointed that I am having these safety and poor design problems due to BMW defects and flaws. Last week I called BMW of north America regarding these 2 safety issues. I was advised to take it to by BMW service center for inspection and contact them upon doing so. Yesterday I contacted them in an attempt to forward the diagnosis/action plan and to my surprise not only was I refused the right to forward the paperwork but was also refused any remedy by BMW.
Got into the vehicle with my passengers. We where leaving a walmart when all of a sudden I made a sharp turn and my door just popped open. My passenger would have fell out of the car if her seatbelt was not on. Luckily I was not close to any cars or there would have been a crash. I contacted BMW about the issue because I saw there was a recall on that same part that broke in my door panel. In the recall letter I read on your site I saw that BMW acknowledged the problem, and recalled vehicles of my year and make because the doors where popping open out of now where. BMW told me they can't do nothing for me and to visit a service center where I was quoted at 1000 dollars to fix a problem. I don't have that kind of money to pay for something BMW is a fault for and acknowledged. I currently have two bungee cords holding my door shut it still wont close to this day. My passenger could have died. I am filing this complaint because I want them to be accountable and fix this issue. I am worried to death it could happen to another door with another passenger I would understand if it was normal wear and tear I have to get fixed but this is unsafe and not normal wear and tear.
