BMW 750 owners have reported 1 problem related to other fuel system tank filling/charging (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Approximately two years ago I began experiencing difficulty filling up with gas at the pump, as follows: after filling 1-5 gallons in the normal manner, the the gas pump shuts off indicating that my gas tank is full, when in fact I've hardly pumped any gas at all. I withdraw the nozzle, reinsert it and begin to pump again. The pump continues to shut off after pumping very little gas. This process must be repeated 10-15 times to fill up the tank. Besides irritating, it's unsafe as I no longer have a reliable indication that the tank is full and I should stop pumping. This leads to overfilling sometimes, where gas spills onto the side of the car, onto the pavement, and once onto my pants. This happens no matter what gas station I use or how empty the tank is. The BMW dealer service advisor says there is a valve in the tank that must be replaced at my cost ($2,500). I think this is a safety issue that the manufacturer should fix.
