BMW X3 owners have reported 1 problem related to headlight switch (under the exterior lighting category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
All wiring inside of both headlight assemblies are brittle to the touch. I had a light come on in the dash for a light bulb out and upon getting ready to replace the drivers low beam headlight, I learned all the wire coating was flacked off and caused a ground. I removed both headlight assemblies, as both were an accident waiting to happen and had them profressionally rewired them with heatshrink tubing, and replaced the burnt out head light bulb. I still have a light out on the dash and the headlight does not work. Further troubleshooting has reavealed this is not the switch, as I purchased a known good one, and still no power to the drivers low beam head light + lead. I have yet to replace the light control module unit (under the dash? I believe) as this is too costly for me to afford. I will just drive with one headlight out. :(.
