Lose Power Steering Problems of BMW Z4

The power steering quit I lost the power steering at approximately 40 mph it was more difficult to steer. When it was taken to the dealer I was informed they had been replacing them free of charge on a case by case basis, but I was out of luck because I was not the original owner. The girl I spoke with said she would talk to her supervisor and see if they could help. I was never contacted back. If my wife had been driving the car at the time the pump failed it definately could have been a possible accident.

Lost of power steering.

On warm days, vehicle steering is sticky, hard to turn. Feels like lose of power steering. Vehicle also pulls either right or left depending on last movement. Hard to steer back to center. Upon further research, problem has been found to be the steering wheel column, but no action or recall has been taken. It needs to be recalled.

Driving 35 mph straight. Lost power steering. Pulled over shut off engine. Restarted engine power steering returned. Lost power steering again within one mile. Returned home.

BMW Z4 after driving for approximately 10 minutes the electronic power steering icon illuminates on dashboard and you lose your power steering there after the problem is intermittent determined by speed. Have contacted two dealers in the boston area and they state never heard of this problem, went on bimmerpost and googled the problem and find it on your website. Car is virtually undriveable as you literally lose power steering control.
