The contact owns a 2000 Buick Century. While driving approximately 55 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The fuel gauge does not function properly; therefore, the contact was unaware if the vehicle stalled due to a lack of fuel. The contact was only able to restart the vehicle by jump starting it. The failure occurred approximately twelve times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the battery was replaced; yet, the failure continued to occur. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

While pulling out of a driveway a loud clanking noise was heard coming from the front. Also, dashboard light flashed on and off intermittently . Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the bearing sheared off the transmission. Battery and transmission needed to be replaced.
