36 Headlights problem of the 1997 Buick Century

Failure Date: 01/02/2002

Both headlight covers which came as clear plastic have developed a film in side of them which the dealer does not want to try to remove as he would have to break the seal. The problem has been getting slowly worse and is somewhat restricting the headlighs ability to let light pass through. Replacement cost at $288. Oo each would be $604. 80 including tax. A little steep for two pieces of plastic. Anyway I thought you might be interested. Thanks.

37 Headlights problem of the 2000 Buick Century

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

While traveling on highway and without prior warning, headlights go out intermittently. Dealership is aware of problem. Consumer is now experiencing a problem with the dash lights intermittently going out.

Headlights are so dim that vehicle is no longer driven at night. Dealer has tried adjusting headlights 6 times, and each time problem gets worse please provide more information.

The headlamp assembly has water condensation (water droplets) forming on the inside of the headlight assembly (if it rains for consecutive days) causing lower visabilty at night. It looks like it is a chronic problem, because my friends 2000 Buick Century has water residue marks on the inside of the headlight assembly.

42 Headlights problem of the 1998 Buick Century

Water condensation always builds up on the inside of the headlight assembly after it rains, the dealership cliams that this is a normal occurrence and is not a problem. The problem is that this degrades the lighting intensity at night. This is a defective design because it also happens to my friends 2000 Buick Century. It can be vaildated by looking for watermarks on the inside of the headlight assembly.

While driving up to a hill vehicle accelerated about 50 mph with headlights on. Then, they will go out without a warning.

Headlight lens developed a cloudy film. This reduced the light illumination, and resulted in poor visibility. The lens could not be cleaned. The consumer believes the design of the lens is poor because it does not allow the consumer to clean the inside of the lens.
