Hydraulic Power Assist Steering System Problems of Buick Century

Dt:the contact owns a 2001 Buick Century custom. At 60,000 miles the power steering or the rack and pinion went out. At time of incident they were driving at a low speed in a parking lot, luckily. The incident happened on the left side.

The power steering on my Buick only has power assist when turning to the right. When turning to the left the steering binds.

Consumer stated that they have the same problem as recall#02v286000 power steering. Dealer will not repair because VIN# was not included. Ts.

After parking the car, got back in to back out of the parking space and discovered vehicle would not turn left. There was no power assist. But it turns right with no problem. Repair required a new rack and pinion system. Failure occured without warning.

The vehicle suddenly lost power steering while making a left turn. There's a recall for this issue but the VIN number and model year is outside the remedy scope (recall # 03v457000).
