While driving I noticed the passenger airbag light would come on and off. Now it stays on all the time. I took it in and found out that the passenger presence module needs to be replace at a cost to me of $900. 00. I see that this is an ongoing problem many people have with this car. How is this not a recall?.

I have a 2008 Buick Enclave and the air bag light came on. I took it to a mechanic to check it out but he said its a recall so I took it to Buick dealer to get it fixed. First of all they weren't very welcoming but long story short they said that its not a recall I have to purchase the entire module which will cost $1500 to get it fixed. I am very confused. They said the recall is for passenger side pressure sensor and they are having me replace the entire passenger side airbag module.
The passenger airbag light always says off and the service air bag notice is always on. We took the car in to a dealer several years ago and were told it is not covered under the airbag recall. This is hard to believe; the vehicle has never been in an accident. Gm should not risk an important safety issue defect to go ignored.

I purchased my vehicle January 2014. Since then I have had major issues with it leaking when it rains,. Water enters the sunroof and drips throughout the vehicles overhead as well as soaks the passenger side carpet. Water drips from the visor, the overhead lights (which could result in an electrical fire) in the front middle and back of the vehicle it seeps through the seat belt height adjusters and the area where the side airbags deploy (which could cause deploy issues). The problem has gotten so bad my vehicle is starting to smell like mold and I am afraid that after a year of this problem mold has grown under the carpet as well as in the overhead foam. My biggest concern is if my child is exposed to this for an extended period of time it will flair up his asthma. A child with asthma is very sensitive to mold and mildew and he is very sensitive as well as has allergies to mold. Additionally, when it rains my exhaust smokes and car putts as if water has gotten into the engine/exhaust, the check engine light has come on several times while traveling and no one can seem to find the issue, the check airbag light came on a couple of months after the purchase, and my steering wheel tightens up when I turn and I have already had that taken care of once. As I was driving home today the emergency brake light came on and dinged all the way home. I believe there are now electrical issues with the vehicle due to the leaks and may cause a malfunction or fire.

My air bag light came on when I started my Buick Enclave never went off the whole time driving. This is the second time it's happened.
The passenger airbag light doesn't come on when a passenger is seated in the passenger seat. After I first noticed the light not being on. . . . Sometimes it comes and sometimes it does not come on.
Over the pat few months our 2011 Enclaves check air bag indicator, intermittently comes on. It occurs when the car is initially started, and stays on throughout the time it is being operated. It may or may not be on the next time the vehicle is used. The vehicle was never in an accident or had the air bags deployed for any reason.
The day we purchased this vehicle, the service air bag light came on when we test drove the vehicle but the sales man ensured us that they could fix that. Well we thought they did and keep saying that everytime we leave the dealership for the same issue. We have had our vehicle to the shop for this same 'service air bag light' at least 10 times since November 25, 2011. Very frustrating!!.
Air bag light kept coming on. Love Buick, columbia SC replaced module. Several days later air bag light came on again with a message " service airbag ". Above dealer now has this vehicle in service and says they need to keep it several days for more diagnostics.

We purchased a used 2008 Buick Enclave and the passenger seat air bag indicator light shows the air bag to be off as often as on when an adult passenger is seated there. This is a major safety issue when you think you are protected and you are not.
Ltr re problems he is having with the airbag system in his 2008 Buick Enclave. The consumer stated the service air bag light illuminated. The consumer thought the problem was fixed the first time, but the air bag light illuminated again. The consumer believed the dealer was just clearing the codes and not trying to find out what the cause of the problem was.
The air bag light keeps turning on I have brought it to the dealer on 4 different occasions . They fix the connectors but it keeps happening. . It is now the 5th time the previous time were as follows. July 29 08, Nov 13 08, Dec 13 10, April 25 12, this is a safety issue that should have a recall. The first 3 times it was fixed under warranty the last time I was charged for the fix.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. While driving approximately 45 mph on normal road conditions, the front passenger side air bag warning indicator failed to illuminate whenever an occupant was positioned in the seat. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was related to a faulty seat sensor. The seat sensor was replaced twice. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer on seven separate occasions for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. The failure and current mileages were unavailable. Updated 5\26\09 the air bag light would come on and go off at random times, when the passenger seat was occupied. Updated 05/28/09.
The passenger airbag indicator inconsistently registers off when my wife or others sit in the passenger seat of our 2008 Buick Enclave. We have taken it to the dealer many times and they say it is working as designed. Gm is ignoring this safety issue. We are very concerned that this protection system is not working properly.
