On 1/06/2020, while driving, the brakes locked up on my 2018 Buick Enclave. (mileage about 23,000) the vehicle has an electronic parking brake ,which was off. Suddenly, the parking break light came on and service lights were illuminated. Fortunately, I was able to navigate to the side of the road, call gm and the car was towed to a local dealer. Several weeks earlier, upon starting, the parking brake light would not go off and the car would not move. After letting the car sit for a period of time, the light went off and I was able to drive the car. I went to the service department of a local dealer. , explained what happened. They told me that I should come back in when it happened again, so they could read the code and noted they have not heard anything around the issue before and that no bulletins have been received from gm. As I understand, as of last evening, gm has not given them any direction. I believe this is a potentially serious safety issue and from an internet search, it appears others have encountered the same problem.

Random activation of parking brake while the car is in drive. Most often occurs when on a slope and a low speed. Multiple incidents have occurred since purchase it has continued to get worse. The vehicle has been in for service many times with no resolution. I opened a case with gm on 9/12/2019 but they have not returned my calls or emails since 10/3/19. . Read more...
I purchased my vehicle January 2014. Since then I have had major issues with it leaking when it rains,. Water enters the sunroof and drips throughout the vehicles overhead as well as soaks the passenger side carpet. Water drips from the visor, the overhead lights (which could result in an electrical fire) in the front middle and back of the vehicle it seeps through the seat belt height adjusters and the area where the side airbags deploy (which could cause deploy issues). The problem has gotten so bad my vehicle is starting to smell like mold and I am afraid that after a year of this problem mold has grown under the carpet as well as in the overhead foam. My biggest concern is if my child is exposed to this for an extended period of time it will flair up his asthma. A child with asthma is very sensitive to mold and mildew and he is very sensitive as well as has allergies to mold. Additionally, when it rains my exhaust smokes and car putts as if water has gotten into the engine/exhaust, the check engine light has come on several times while traveling and no one can seem to find the issue, the check airbag light came on a couple of months after the purchase, and my steering wheel tightens up when I turn and I have already had that taken care of once. As I was driving home today the emergency brake light came on and dinged all the way home. I believe there are now electrical issues with the vehicle due to the leaks and may cause a malfunction or fire.

I have noticed that my brake lights do not come on unless the key is in the
ignition and toward the run position. I went to my dealer and was told that
is how they are made now. I guess I am wondering why and also if this is
true. The service writer did take my to another Enclave and it is just like
mine--the brake light does not go on if the key in not in the run position.
