Electrical System Problems of Buick Enclave - part 2

There are a couple of issues causing our concerns about the car. 1. Alternator - the alternator was reported went bad after only 4 years of usage, the dealer refused to pay the fixing cost for this. Due to the failure of the alternator, the car lost all the power in the middle of the road with our entire family in the car during the night, very dangerous. The car suddenly stopped at the road with 50mph speed limit. 2. Engine and catalytic converter pipe - the engine light is on due to abnormal feeling of the engine power, the dealer could not fix the issue in weeks and no rental car provided and we were asked to drive the car home and waiting for order status of the parts. 3. Exhaust system failure - the dealer mentioned the welding of the connection is bad ( still under warranty ) but refused to fix it but ask the customer to pay for the replacement and labor.

The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact stated that the ecm warning light had remained illuminated. The rear liftgate locking mechanism failed to latch causing cargo to exit the vehicle where the car behind this car smashed into the cargo causing an accident. For whatever reason the rear door will not lock at all. The fuse was perfectly fine, appears the actuator is defective. No warning was given because the rear liftgate was open and unlatched. After realizing the gate would not close it would notify it was open but the power liftgate operates just fine, and when you activate it, it will push the gate closed and not give a warning until maybe you hit a bump in the road.

Passenger side rear electronic parking brake wire clip failed, wire is rubbing against the rear cv boot. This caused a short that led to defective abs control module that had to be replaced for anti-skid and anti-roll for this SUV. It also affected the transmission alert system. Brakes are not stopping in time they are continuously scrubbing I have changed brakes and rotors and they are continuously scrubbing and not allowing me to stop in time nearly almost ran off the road I have got my brakes inspected but mechanic say there was nothing wrong the place I took it to but there is something wrong with the brakes. There is a electrical problem when it rains things stopped working inside the car every time it rains like my speakers my warning sensors things in that sort. There's also an acceleration issue it is not catching speed it's been doing this since I got the car how to basically mash it to the floor just for the vehicle to go.

On February 27, 2023 while on the road in the morning heading to work I stopped at a red light. When the light turned green my 2011 Buick GMC Enclave hesitated when I proceeded to accelerate. My vehicle moved slightly then without notice it stopped in the middle of a busy road as several cars backed up behind me as my check engine light came on. Also, while my foot was on the brakes, my vehicle was rolling backwards. In lieu to this hazard to myself and other drivers I placed my vehicle in park. My vehicle was towed at my own out of pocket expense of $125. 00 in addition to $16. 99 for a lyft ride home. Two days later the auto shop informed me they checked my battery and alternator and both was good. They continued to tell me they drove my vehicle and it did not cut off or stop running. I informed them I don’t feel safe knowing my vehicle shut off without notice could they check it again. They kept my vehicle another day and they stated no codes showed up again that they can point to a specific issue. Again, another out of pocket diagnostic expense of $125. 00. On 02/28/23 I contacted autonation Buick GMC laurel to inquire if there has been a recall in place. The representative stated there was no recall in place. After extensive research and review to my ultimate shocking surprise I see numerous complaints have been expressed with Buick GMC from consumers and previous customers outlining their concerns and this hazardous life threatening situation of their Buick stopping without notice. Buick GMC is aware of this repeated life threatening and dangerous issue from consumers and from previous customers year after year after year. Buick GMC nevertheless still remains silent and have taken no actions no remedy no recourse about amending and correcting the dangers of their manufactured vehicles. Subsequently, Buick GMC have not taken the necessary steps to implement a recall.

The battery, which is housed within the passenger compartment, began emitting fumes that caused passengers to experience physical symptoms of nausea and headache, followed by smoke and extreme heat. We realized what was going on and turned off the engine before it caught fire, but there were no warning lights on the dash and no messages from the vehicle itself. Initially we thought it was a smell outside of the vehicle. Even the vehicle app diagnostics don't report any kind of an issue.

The passenger side seat air bag exploded and burned my daughter’s back while she was getting into the car. The car was in park and auto started. My son was sitting in the back seat behind her while this happened. She has 1st and 2nd degree burns and thankfully my son is okay. The car has been sitting in my driveway since that day. I have contacted the dealership and gm as well as my personal insurance. Gm is moving very slow and stated they would send someone to look at my vehicle within 7-10 days from yesterday . The investigation could take 30-60 days before we have an answer. We are currently on day 11 since this happened. Insurance doesn’t want to touch it until gm or the dealership looks at it and determines if it is a malfunction. The safety of my kids and family is definitely a priority and the fact that this happened is scary. The loudness of the explosion was like a gunshot inside the vehicle and the fire that came out of it is insane. Literally looked like a firework. With the airbag deployed I am sure the seatbelts are now compromised but either way I will not risk my life or anyone else’s and step foot in it. The car was looked at by local law enforcement and pictures were taken. The car is available for inspection but the dealership hasn’t called me back and gm is following their protocol and has no hurry. The airbag light had come on the week prior to this happening and had gone back off. I also had the tire pressure lights go on and back off twice in the past couple of months.

Hello, I’m writing concerning my Buick Enclave 2015. We have had it to dealership for side detection system failure in the past & are now incurring the same failure again! this is a big safety concern & hazard. Poor workmanship on general motors/Buick.

I purchased my vehicle in 2020. In 2022 I experienced an issue where my car stopped in the middle of the road without warning. Despite several attempts to try and move the vehicle off of the road the police were notified and my vehicle was towed. The vehicle gave an error code that conditions not met for driving. One office tried to put the vehicle in neutral but the wheels locked and the shifter was locked as well. The battery has been replaced 3 different times since I have owned the vehicle. A mechanic friend of mine (who is a trainer for GMC) hooked his computer up to it and found no issues. He did find a loose wire which he the reconnected. I was able to drive my car for 6 months before the same thing happened, same situation the vehicle just stopped in the middle of the road only this time I couldn't turn the vehicle off, we had to manually disconnect the battery and again the police came out due to traffic hold up. My car was towed twice afterwards as I could get the car running for a few minutes before another error. To date my car has been sitting in my driveway since March of this year, this time it won't hold a charge and will not even start. Im not sure if this is an engine or an electrical issue. I did call 2 Buick dealerships that told me that it would take about 5 hours to diagnose the issue where I would be charged per hour at the mechanic hourly rate. At this point I think my vehicle needs to be recalled, even if I could get it repaired I dont feel safe driving it. Thankfully it stopped on a minor freeway and no major incidents occurred.

The contact owns a 2016 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while accelerated, the fourth gear jumped to the fifth gear and was stuck. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the transmission specialist test drove the vehicle and was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the gear was burnt, and the transmission needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that the air bag warning lights, charging system and the radio system malfunctioned. The contact stated that he suspects that the electrical system had malfunctioned however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

-a few weeks prior to accident, while driving down a 65mph highway in TX, vehicle side mirrors were folding inward. Continued to fold inward after hit button to open them multiple times. Even did this after pulled off highway and stopped/started vehicle and exiting vehicle and locking to try to create a "reset" of system. (auto folding windows feature in infotainment was not selected to be on before or after this incident! auto-folding sidemirrors are tied to the electron shifter status and should only engage when turned on in infotainment option and vehicle in park. This was occurring over 2-3 days while driving on highway at 65mph) accident: -pulled into parking spot and placed vehicle in park. -front dash camera audio indicates the "ding" confirmation of park and hear vehicle doors unlock upon park status. -vehicle was still on and began to slow roll up hill backwards in parking lot and strike another parked vehicle across the double wide aisle. -no rear camera was engaged. -no collision alert (no seat vibration which was always on in infotaiment option) -no automatic braking for about to strike a vehicle. -display after impact was on the Buick startup icon, not the infotainment icons. -vehicle driven immediately to Buick dealership and claim initiated wth esis (regarding product liability claim with gm (general motors) -no police due to private lot - 9 days later the black box data (bosch crash data report) and vehicle global diagnostics sysem reports were downloaded from vehicle. Third report polling all the vehicle drive cycles was downloaded but not provided to me as consumer with claim. - no data obtained from cdr as not over 8mph and was backwards. -gds2 indicates not dtc data most items but did indicate: 1)rear differential clutch control module no communication 2)left front short range radar sensor module no communication 3)right front short range radar sensor module no communication 4)rear short range radar sensor module no communication.

The electronic parking brake has had multiple apparent malfunctions and one complete failure. On several occasions the parking brake failed to disengage completely with multiple warning dash lights illuminating. One such incident apparently self-corrected after being left parked overnight our semi-heated garage, with another incident only partially disengaged the parking brake with warning lights indicating a parking brake malfunction, and after driving two to three miles returning home the right rear brake was baking hot. The latest malfunction was a complete failure of the parking brake to engage at all, with the warning lights again illuminating and would be an obvious danger while parking. The vehicle is just over four years old and was two-and-a-half months out of warranty at the time of failure, and had/has 5,121 miles. It has now been waiting at the dealership for repairs for four weeks, awaiting a parking brake control module which they cannot give any timeline for delivery or arrival. It is unknown if the brake control module for the parking brake has any control or effect on the service brakes, so the vehicle is sitting at the dealership collecting dust, unusable to us.

Stabilitrack continues to cause problems with the car. I was traveling 60 mph and the stabilitrack and check engine light reduce engine power and car is unable to drive over 40 mph. This is a serious concern when on the highway. When this issue is tripped the car shakes and runs roughly. This car continues to have air bag relay or electrical issues even after fixing the seat belt harness which was recalled. This has been repaired by the dealership no less than 3 times and it feels as we are replacing parts which do not fix the issue. Having the car slow and limp home on a highway is dangerous and happens without warning. The dealership dismissed the airbag light and the second look says repair is needed for safety. So frustrating gm.

My light is on for airbag and I can’t seem to figure out maybe it’s seatbelt because it’s wrong it’s twisted and airbag says it’s off on passenger so I have a salvage title. Ty had a 2020 vw and a careless driver a young girl driving fast went airborne and left me without my brand new car and cars went off the top expensive it is not my fault this happened and I ended having to buy a used car and most all cars in dfw area high mileage n salvage I needed a car for my job in social services I do frontline work as u did during the pandemic that some idiot driver slammed into my other car I am a safe driver but these idiots on the road is the cause of all this. I need safety for my patients from mental health and other medical and I have children too so. I have also been treated like rudely by Buick and by the agent last third about a week or so ago. She said you have take it and it’s your responsibility to pay and that if I didn’t have the money it was up to me but I had to pay the cost. I said your saying I don’t have a airbag she no no that is not it and said my car was part of recalls but because it was salvage it was not covered and it was my responsibility. She was rude and so was the lady at freedom Buick in dallas, TX and she demanded the VIN # I also feel I was discriminated because both women weee anglo n I am hispanic so. . It has been the most ugliest treatment ever and last time was today by a anglo lady and I maybe more educated than her and the odiosity of her talking and tone was discriminatory she didn’t even say her name and only said she was some kind of supervisor at freedom dealer so that was today 7/9/22 so sad and she too said same as I told her I would let me leave dealership like that because I have a faulty airbag because of such reasons and she said no you can pay for it then we will look at it then that will go towards repairs again she discriminated and is not caring about injury or deaths so I am very sad this world is evil.

Engine stalled multiple times while driving. Fuse box under hood loose and threw a code p1682. Only threw code once. No other warnings. Engine just cuts off with power til to dash and other dash components.

Vehicle has been to gm dealership many times for problems related to reduced engine power, stabilitrack, and traction control issues. Dealer replaced relay switches, problem appeared to be fixed. While driving on a busy road, engine power reduced, stabilitrack, and traction control warnings illuminated. Car reduced speed nearly causing an accident while driving and power steering failed. Police needed to help remove car from roadway. Ecm replaced, appeared fixed for awhile. While driving on highway 54, same warnings illuminated and car slowed itself from 60mph to under 30mph. Numerous complaints can be found about the 2013 Buick Enclave and other years and this problem. I believe it will cause an accident and kill someone one day, if it hasn't already. Class action suit was even filed, and unfortunately dismissed. I'm afraid to drive my car. It is at the dealership again and we've only owned it since February 2022.

Sunroof messing up electrical system clogs up easily radio and everything else don't work right electrical all messed up because it clogging sunroof crankshaft won't relearn.

Onstar system and wifi intermittently do not work, was told that this is a known issue when radio is being used, no fix. In my case radio was not being used, so this does not apply. Seat/mirror position memory gradually changes over time. Does not recognize that exit function has been turned off. Signal lights randomly flash (without indicator on dash flashing) when car is at idle & mirrors are folded. Tire pressure monitoring system, not accurate and will notify driver that tires are underpressured by 10lb or more. Dealership reset them and are now fine. Brakes on passenger front randomly grind since day one of ownership dealership told me that there is an obvious electrical issue, however since no codes are being thrown, they cannot repair it. Best that can be done is to continue to drive it and show up at a dealership when problems are occurring. Onstar diagnostics was able to determine vehicle was not connecting. Dealership indicated they'd let gm know about the issue, but nothing else could be done for what is a relatively new vehicle. Also was told they would not ensure that vehicle was not affected by structural issues because the VIN was not listed.

The car has an auto-stop feature however at times, when the car is stopped, the entire electrical and engine shuts down even while the car is in drive. The driver must restart the car and put the car into park and then back into drive. When the car restarts, several lights/messages turn on including "service transmission" and the "service parking brake" message and parking break light. This is a safety and hazard issue as it has happened while in traffic on the freeway when at a standstill.

On the morning of October 25, 2021 at approximately 7:05 am, I was fixing to leave to go to work. The carport light was on, so I open the door to my car, slid into the driver’s seat, started the car up and the lights came on. As I was starting to get out of the car to go turn the carport lights off, I realized the car was going backwards. I tried to get back into the driver’s seat to try to stop the car but I was unable to do so. The door knocked me down on the concrete floor of the carport and the front left tire ran over both my legs. The car continued to go backwards, the door hit the column between the carport bays but continued to travel backwards down our approx. 11-foot paved drive way, crossed the dirt road and stopped when the back of the car went into the deep ditch that runs along the dirt road at that point. When my husband arrived, the car was still running and the lights were on. The man driving the wrecker for the local ema director and my husband all looked at the gear shift and the car was in park.

Sunday at 11 ish am eastern time I started the vehicle to get grocery items. The mileage was approximately 68680. The tire pressure warning light and air bag light came on along with the alerts to service air bag, side view collision, tire pressure, parking assist was shut off. The radio began to randomly shut off and reboot and the lower controls (heated seats, gate lift etc. ) would not work, also the turn signal noise would go in and out. Tachometer and speedometer were slightly impacted. Monday I stopped at the dealer after making sure the battery connection was good- there has been no fluctuation of power according to the gauge or even how the items are alerting and the fact my door panel buttons to lock and unlock were not working. They were unable to detect an error with their handheld device even though all those alerts were going across the screen. Appt set for 10/20 at noon to go on the big computer (and probably cost my car payment just to see what is wrong) today (I only have one car and was not offered a loaner even though we agreed it was a safety issue) the traction control light came on and off, the speedometer and tachometer were greatly impacted, the rear camera stated it needed servicing, my liftgate will not work even using the rear handle and sounds like there may be impact in the drivetrain happening as the gear select icon stayed on r for over 500 feet driving forward. There was no hard start, cold day or jump given- also compass is not working either. The radio will randomly say communication system is not working/connecting which appears to impact my onstar. I have seen other issues for this year online and very concerned what electrical item it is going to impact next. I have children (k and college) and it is bad enough I have to use my car to get to work. This will happen in park or going down the road at 55/60 and every speed between.

Vehicles timing chain keeps going out had it replaced 3 times and the problem the vehicle is having still consists the vehicle constantly hesitates to start.

After any amount of rain, the vehicle will not shut off after turning the key to the "off" position and removing the keys. The vehicles dash lights all go off with the exception of the "check engine light". The vehicle remains running. I have to pull a fuse to get it to shut off. Then, the next morning I have to jump it to get it to start.

My truck started to jerking while I was driving. When I went in the dealership to get a piece for my inter rim was missing. Started the truck. Went into reverse. When I started in drive wouldn't move forward. Haven't had any problems until today. I had to leave it at the dealership for a diagnostic. .

The car shut off while I was driving it, I was starting to go from sitting at a red light and it just shut itself off! I've just purchased this car and already it's a hunk of junk. Also the amount of electrical problems caused by water entering the motor compartment is ridiculous and should be a recall as it's just a bad design. The ac fan motor located above the passenger floor fills with water and ruins the motor. The car shut off today because of shoddy soldering.

The power steering has issues when turning it seems to not work. Been have this problem for about a year. I’ve talked to other Buick owners and they have the same problem. I also have electrical issues on the drivers side door panel, where none of the switches work. Just all of a sudden quit.

Air bag and side dection lights blink don't work and headlight don't work and car stops running wipers only work on high water pours on my foot when it rains has to in to shop again tommrow gaylord mich.

11 months after I bought my Buick the engine went out the dealer said it was nothing to do with me the replacement used all my warranty. And there has been one after another problem. My steering wheel locks during turns almost had some real serious finder benders. It's throwing p420 code for bank 2 and now have no sound at all everything works but no blinkers, hazard, seatbelt, backup warning sounds at all with no radio .

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph the vehicle's engine started to reduce in power. The vehicle showed a warning light that indicated that they should no longer drive the vehicle at that time. The contact stated they were able to drive the vehicle home, however, they had the vehicle towed to the dealership (johnson Cadillac located at 1122 walton way, augusta, GA 30901 phone number 706-955-7066) who diagnosed that the vehicle's switch circuit regarding ignition 1 had failed and the under hood fuse had locked. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case regarding the matter. The failure mileage was 57,629. Gl.

The contact owns a 2012 Buick Enclave. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the engine started shaking with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated when he disengaged the accelerator pedal and depressed it again, the engine stopped shaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure however, the check engine light was reset. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring from the original date of purchase. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic several times. The contact stated that the catalytic converter, alternator, battery, fuel pump and fuel pressure sensors were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 158,000.

Car loses speed from 70 downto10 on exspressway this is a life threating problem almost got rear ended on eway no where to pull off an dark out been to dealer in novi micigan2 times car did same thing on way to florida no read out codes show on tracking I think gm should fix thts problen free of charge before some 1 gets killed.
