The contact owns a 2013 Buick Enclave. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly jerked and the speed reduced to 20 mph. The check engine and stability trac malfunction warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The contact turned off and restarted the engine, and the vehicle returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (alexander Buick GMC Cadillac, 1501 ventura blvd, oxnard, CA 93036) four times where it was diagnosed that the key fob alarm needed to be removed. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred several other times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was not available.

The vehicle stalls during acceleration at about 1800 to 2200 rpn, more often after a stop of vehicle and is more noticeable at low speeds from 20 to 50 mph in both city and highway but more often in city streets, increasing the risk of a crash. No engine lights come on so mechanics are telling me that they can't diagnose without any codes on the engine. Vehicle has about 100k miles and this failure started about 95 k miles and getting worse with time. So far the engine has not shut off.
On 3/31/17 returning from spring break and was going 70 mph in passing lane on interstate 65 near cullman, alabama and my car shut down, the ecm shut down no warning lights came on, no warning from onstar that there was a problem, I cut into the right hand lane in front of my sister inlaw and nearly was side swiped, I had no breaks, no steering, everything shut down. Some kind of electrical short caused the ecm to fry. Throttle body also was replaced. Something was causing a dead short. Had my sister in law not been paying attention she surely would have side swiped me when I went down into the other lane, 5 people in my vehicle and 5 in hers and traffic was bumper to bumper. I also reported and filed a claim with gm worked with craig a senior adviser at gm. Case# 8-286830. I also field a complaint with onstar. Of course all say my car is past warranty but I feel this is an electrical problem that could certainly cause deaths. Perhaps a recall could or should be done. I think there might have been on newer models but not 2011. We did not have an accident but was 6 hours from home and stranded, having to find a rental car to get home. My car was towed to bill smith Buick GMC and it took them from Monday till Friday to figure out the problem. They ended up calling gm techs direct to try to detect the problem.

In 2016, and again in 2020 after the dealer first fixed the issue, while driving at high speeds, on highways, also in the rain, again at a stop light, the vehicle suddenly decelerated, causing the potential for a very serious accident. The warnings then displayed on the dash included reduced engine power, service stabilitrak, service traction control, and traction control off. The vehicle only then drove at slow speeds, sputtered and jerked, and felt like it might stall. When able to pull over, at times turning off the car reversed the problem. Sometimes the check engine light was on, sometimes it wasnt. Sometimes it would drive fine and then out of nowhere, it would happen again. In 2016, the dealership had a difficult time finding the issue. After several days of driving it, they identified the problem as a fuse box issue and replaced the fuse box. This seemed to fix the issue until it happened again in 2020 while driving. On a road trip, it happened while on a highway, again at a red light, and while on a highway again. Each time, we pulled over, turned the car off for a while. One time in particular, the issue didn't go away after turning the car back on.

Lights on the dash board came on while driving in town at approximately 20 mph indicating awd, traction control and anti-lock breaks were not working. Power steering also was not working. Vehicle taken to local gm dealer for repair. Assessment indicated need to replace power steering pump and electronic break module. The lights came off and on repeatedly over the next several weeks waiting on the repairs. The two recommended parts were replaced and one week later the same lights came on and power steering and other functions were lost again, indicating that the issue was not fixed by replacing these parts.
Water is leaking from front windshield on both the drivers side and passenger side of car and is affecting electrical equipment, such as onstar, engine light, etc.

Service traction control and stabilizer. I believe this is a safety issue. And not covered by warranty.
When driving on expressway car drops to limp mode I have returned to several dealers no codes can be found. Notified gm office about problem. Only solution is to give me a 2000 dollar certificate to buy a new gm product. Safety problem when you have a 70 year old driving 70 mph in high speed lane and it drops to limp mode. Contacted gm central office case 38-4726640646 talked to danielle at 855-880-1400 extension 5914268. . I also have several photo's of the dash board warnings about traction control and stablizer I don't know how to send documents on the computer . It has happen more tha 10 times, I stopped wasting my time for something they can. T find. I believe it's a problem with computer, but they tell me the computer would let them know if its not working correctly.

On 11/30, we turned on the car, the engine light on the dash came on to service engine. We took the car to the dealership. We were informed the problem is in the transmission. It needed a torque converter, a pump and new gaskets. They've had the car since 12/2, and informed us they were waiting for the gaskets which will possibly be two more weeks.
Complete engine power reduction automatically casing car instantly to drop from 65 mph down to 25 mph in the middle of a 4 lane highway. Lost all power steering ability and not able to turn car and almost drove into trees before it came to a stop. I had to have aaa come and tow my car to walser Buick GMC in bloomington, mn.
The electronic stability control is malfunctioning. Every time I turn, the stability control displays different messages that brakes are no functioning, stability control, check engine, etc.
I was driving on the interstate going about 70mph. All of a sudden the light on my console said traction control off, service stabilitrack. My gas would not work, the power steering off and all the power was going. I barely made it to the shoulder. It was very scary also have my two children in the car. I looked up the problem in my book and it said to turn off and wait 15 seconds then turn on. That did not work. I sat there for about 30 minutes. I looked under the hood, underneath the car to see if anything was leaking. Nothing. Finally it would turn over and start. I turned around to go home and about 5 miles from my house, it happed again out of no where. I again waited for about 20 or 30 minutes and it finally started. Now my check engine light is on. I am afraid to drive it now.
Driving on interstate 75 north of cincinnati OH in bumper to bumper traffic on 7-13-15 in left lane when buzzer sounded ,traction control light came on and engine lost power. Trying to get to shoulder was a bad experience as traffic was having one hell of a time trying to cope with a car that suddenly wasn't moving. How a bad accident didn't happen, I just say it was good luck! we really like our Buick Enclave and would like to keep it. I have a code reader and no code was revealed. I pushed the traction control button several times and reentered traffic and the car ran fine for the next two hours to home. . . . . .
I was driving on the freeway and the car begin begain to flash across the dash that it was reducing engine power. This now happens ever so often when I'm driving I was wondering is this a re-call matter?.
While driving on the i495 beltway in MD a warning chime sounded and the driver's display stated the " service traction control, service stabilitrak", then displayed "engine power reduced" . This occurred while driving at 60mph in heavy traffic. Loss of power made it very difficult to maneuver the vehicle from the center highway lanes to the shoulder. Loss of power nearly caused an accident due to cars traveling at speed from behind. Wife and two young children in the car at the made situation extremely stressful!! followed instructions in driver's operating manual( turn off engine, wait 15 seconds and trun vwhicle back on to reset system). This process worked but we had the rpeat the process two more times during the 40+ mile drive home.
December 2014 lift gate was up and suddenly came down and hit my wife with great force. This happened twice but not consistently. Subsequently was taken to a Chevrolet/gm dealership, found both struts not holding pressure and were replaced at owner's expense. On the morning of January 9,2015 driving during a snow storm on an interstate suddenly vehicle lost stabiltrab, traction control and engine power was reduced to 15 mph. Due to the weather traffic was going slower than normal. Car driven to a Chevrolet/gm dealer where the throttle body was replaced at owner's expense. On January 14, 2015 owner brought car to have power steering pump replaced due to gm September 2014 notice and owner informed that power steering rack was leaking. Although not replacing the power steering rack would lead to failure of the new power steering pump, this component was not covered. Owner paid a portion to have the rack replace. This repair required a front end alignment for which the owner paid for.
Vehicle power steering fails at slow speeds/ most preveaent when turning, parking and etc. Very dangerous.
While car is in motion (around 35-40 mph) the stabilitrak, abs, a/c, blind-spot monitor shuts off; speedometer, gas gauge, battery gauge on dashboard all go down to zero (even when car is moving); engine is still running, but vehicle does not respond when accelerator is applied. If engine is turned off and allowed to rest a minute or two and then restart is tried, it either does not start at all or it will start, but will not move over 20 mph (just enough to get off the road. ) if allowed to rest @10 minutes, engine will start again, dashboard is functional, but engine service light remains on. Acceleration seems "sluggish" when driving after this event, but can get up to @50mph. However, the first time this happen and the car got up to 50mph, the electrical system failed again (as described above) but I could "coast" home, thankfully. The weather is in 80s so a/c is on every time this happens (so far). This seems to only happen on short trips (5 to 20 mile trips such as for shopping, errands, etc. ). It has not happened (yet) on longer trips. The first time this happened, the gm service rep said "confirmed ses light on wire harness out of firewall making contact on a/c lines. Has rub-thru on wire. Reposition wire and reseal. " after 1 month (1,243 miles), the same exact incident happened again. Gm service rep this (second) time said there are a lot of "communication codes" that indicate communication failures. Gm service rep is still investigating issue. There is a service bulletin already for this problem (or one like it): TSB ref# pi-1202, NHTSA ref# 10055394.
Driving home and the stabilitrak and traction control light comes on. Car now spins tires and has disabled the abs. Very unstable car with abs not working properly. Take my vehicle in for routine maintanence and was told rack and pinion is leaking. Got online and see class action law suit against gm for this same reason. No recall. I don't see how gm does not think this is a safety issue. To be driving down the road and steering fail. Not only endangering people in the car but also everybody else around them. I'm starting to hate this car. Looks good from a distance but the problems gm has had with these models Enclave, traverse, acadia all models with this steering system. Not a cheap fix either! my father worked for gm so that's all we buy. Seriously reconsidering though.
We were driving our vehicle on the highway (route 1 near stafford, va) when it felt like it was suddenly not shifting gears correctly and quickly thereafter lost power beyond 30 miles per hour. We drove into a parking lot. We called the nearest Buick dealership/repair shop (route 1 Buick in woodbridge, va) and told them of issue. They said it sounds like transmission and the wave plate is a "known Enclave problem. " they said to have it towed to them and they may be able to assist us with cost as it's close to within powertrain warranty. We had it towed there to route 1 Buick. They diagnosed and found all transmission codes a wave plate code. They said it was a "known problem" and so they called Buick gm service manager. Route 1 Buick called us back to say gm would not assist us as we were outside warranty and had no previous issues with transmission (I have found several other transmission and power loss complaints I and the previous owners have made on this exact vehicle in my research into this. . . I have kept all records!). Route 1 said that our cost would start at $3,800 with no guarantee they wouldn't find other issues needing to be addressed. The also said lucky for us, our vehicle had an open recall on side air bag issue they could fix. As we realized we must pay out-of-pocket and could not afford $3,800, we paid them the $120 for diagnosis and towed it (at our expense) to dun-rite transmission in fredericksburg, va. Dun-rite found it had a broken wave plate. They rebuilt transmission for $2,800. Unfortunately, the stabilitrak, traction control, and air bag sensors are all also going off and car has had 2 other instances of losing power when going up hills. We purchased the certified gm car Nov 2012. My car payment is $462. Per mo. Since that time we have spent an additional $6,095 on repairs and maintenance. Our average month expenses are therefore $801! help!.
04/24/2014 3:56pm our 2013 Enclave suddenly went into reduced engine power mode while traveling on the interstate at speeds of 65-70 when suddenly speed was reduced to 35-45mph. My wife almost got rear ended. She contact onstar for diagnostics but they could not see any issue with the vehicle. (not issues or diagnostic codes found) when this happened the service stabilitrak light lit, traction off light lit, flashing service engine soon light lit. Car running rough and went into power reduced mode with sudden reduced speed while driving on hwy. To date this has now happened several times and until this past Sunday, 10/26/2014 had never stored a code to show a problem. This event showed a c0561 code stored. I contacted the dealership for an appointment but they were not able to look at it until today, 10/29/2014 at this point there apparently were too many drive cycles and the code had cleared. The dealership advised me to bring it in ASAP on the next event of this happening without turning the vehicle off, I have know idea when or where I'll be when it happens again. . . . This is a big safety issue with this vehicle and I just hope to not get into an accident from this before they are able to fix it.
My husband, I, and our 3 young children were driving on I-94 at 70mph when our check engine light started flashing, the vehicle immediately starting shaking and riding extremely rough and the engine died. Fortunately we were in the right lane, and there was a wide shoulder for us to pull onto. We had the car towed to a gm delearship, who ran diagnostics and found that there were cylinder misfires on cylinders 1,3 &5. They ran further diagnostics and found that a valve spring broke & dropped into the cylinder. The piston hit the valve, knocked a hole in the piston, and pieces of the valve went through the engine. This vehicle was purchased 5 yrs and 9 months ago (9 months out of the warranty), but only halfway through the 100,000 mile warranty. We were given a gm customer service contact name (lashawn) and number, but she will neither answer her phone, nor return our numerous messages! we purchased this vehicle brand new and have done all maintenance work on schedule, and have never had a problem with this "luxury" vehicle. We chose this vehicle for all of its safety features, as parents of 3 young children, safety is of our utmost concern. We certainly didn't feel safe 3 hours from home, traveling back from vacation, in the middle of WI completely stranded with a vehicle whose engine died within 5 seconds of the warning lights coming on. As inconvenient as it is that our vehicle is 3 hours from us, we are so thankful this didn't happen in downtown chicago, where a dead vehicle on I-94 could have easily turned into a fatal collision.
On March 27 2014 my Buick Enclave gave me an error message on the dash while driving on the highway traction control off, stability transmission needs service, and reduced power came on. The car went from 60 mph to 50 mph suddenly but then cleared up. I took the car into the dealer to be serviced on 03/28/2014. The local dealer stated that they found the issue and corrected it. On April 16 2014 I had the same issue however the event was much worst. I was on the a major highway doing 65 mph. The car did not give me any indication of any isssue. The dashboard displayed traction control off, service traction, and service stabilitrak and very quick and suddenly I lost all power to the car while traveling down the highway at 65 mph. The speedometer stated I was still at 65 mph however the car was not traveling at 65. I tried pulling on my hazard lights but they did not work at the time. The power steeling on the vehicle did not work. The gas pedal did not excel the car. I was almost hit by a tractor trailor who was traveling behind me. I tried moving to the slow lane however the car had no power sterring but the engine was on and the gas pedal was to the floor but the car was not acceleration. I had no power in the car, I was able to get to a safe spot were I tried turning the car off and back on. That did not solve any issues except for the hazard lights. I was then able to put on my hazard lights. The car never gave me an error that I had reduced power. Everything occurred in about 2 minutes. I immediately contacted the dealer to have the car towed. I have major safety concerns about the 2011 Buick Enclaves!!!!! I am very lucky that I was not killed on hwy 540. I don't think my air bags would have deployed if I were hit by a tractor trailer or car. Nothing was working in the car. Please call me with any questions!!.
We were driving down the highway at 65 mph the stabilitrak / traction control light came on followed by an engine reduced power warning and the vehicle slows from 65 mph to 30 mph in about 3 seconds. The error message clears itself when the vehicle is turned off and left off for 1 to 5 minutes. The second time this happened we took it to the dealership and they reset the codes as a check engine light was also on. The check engine light came on again and the error message code indicated an idle problem. The dealer diagnosed and the TSB stated to relearn the idle which cost about $220. This problem occurred two more times with similar decelerations from 45+ to about 25 -30 mph in 3 seconds. The car forums on the internet for chevy traverse, GMC acadia list many people with similar issues. Many have called gm and have been told that gm is not aware of this as a major problem. Some claim there was a private recall on the 2010 models.
I was heading out my neighborhood up a hill to make a left turn and all of the sudden the steering wheel would not move and almost caused me to get into a wreck. I already had the steering pump and pinions changed 1 week ago and now this happens. Apparently this is an issue gm knows about and nothing has been done. I have 2 kids and I am concerned about their safety. Not to mention how costly this is and as a single mother I cannot afford to buy another vehicle or repairs, by the way I did just purchase this vehicle 2 weeks ago. Yes I did just purchase it from a dealer.
Driving on highway. Warning light for stabilitrack came on, then engine power reduced light. In seconds no power to vehicle. Could not accelerate at all and vehicle slowed on its own. Extremely dangerous in traffic when trying to pull over with no power. Manual says turn off car wait 15 seconds to correct problem. Assuming you don't get killed pulling over first, nice idea. Doesn't work. Had to stop vehicle more than ten times on way home due to same problem. Brought vehicle into dealer. Same problem persists.
Issue: check engine light issue resolution: dealership found code p0304 and p0306 were stored. Recommended replacement of #4 and #6 coils and plugs. Repair replaced all plugs and coils. Issue #7.
I was driving and upon trying to press the break the car jolted almost causing me to hit another car. The car said traction control off. I cautiously drove home with the same issue occurring but realize that the traction control kept going on and off constantly. When I read online about this issue I realized a lot of people with the same model and year are dealing with this issue no matter the mileage.
Issue: car makes loud screeching noise, loss of power steering, engine fan constantly running and car a/c heats on one side and cools on the other. Resolution: dealership located leaking gear and pump damaged which caused noise. Replaced power steering gear and power steering pump. Flushed power steering system and evac and recharge a/c system. Issue #6.
Transmission failed 3 weeks out of powertrain warranty and required a rebuild then failed again about a year later. Steering pump and cooling motor failed during warranty period and were replaced and then both failed 18 months later (out of warranty) stabilitrac and check engine lights keep turning on after the dealer has repaired it 3 times (turns on about 30 minutes away from dealer each time). Nhtsa really needs to take action against Buick and gm regarding the 2008 Enclave, it is a lemon and people are being ripped off over it and put at serious risk because of its' short comings.
Issue: repair done for premature timing chain wear due to engine control module resolution: recall repair #10287 performed and reprogramed engine control module issue #5.
The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the electronic stability traction control warning indicator flashed. Also, the abs warning indicator flashed and various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than five times, but could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure numerous times for years and provided no repair solution. The failure mileage was not available.
