Oil pressure light came on first, then heard loud tapping noise and check engine light came on. Pulled over checked the oil (fresh oil change the day before) it was still full. Got the vehicle home and had the codes pulled. The dreaded timing chain codes of p0008 and p0017 at 128,000 miles on the car. Most shops that I called won't even touch this because of the extensive repair. That leaves the stealership at the price of $3000 and that is if nothing else was damaged. Why were the 2008's left out of the Buick timing chain recall when it has the same 3. 6l engine? this is a known problem. I will never buy another Buick. This happened last year (06/2018), but I knew it would be a costly repair, so the car sat until now.

Vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating over 20 mph and became unable to reverse. This was discovered while driving. We do not have the funds to make this repair. The car has sat at the end of our driveway in a non-drivable condition since April 2019. The rear strut towers required complete replacement. This was noticed while driving 10 mph. The car made a clunking noise. I took it to the Buick garage and they recommended the strut towers be replaced and the rear axle. They have record of the date and mileage. The power steering cable rubbed on the air conditioning line and a a hole was created. The air conditioner became non-functional. A diagnostic was performed by the Buick garage but, we did not have the funds to repair the air conditioner since we needed to rebuild the strut towers. So we drove the car with a non-functioning air conditioning unit, until the car stopped operating in reverse and stopped accelerating over 20 mph. I am a single mom with 3 children. This has been a great hardship for us. It is very unlikely that I would purchase a car from Buick in the future.

We purchased a certified pre-owned 2012 Buick Enclave from royal Buick of sussex new jersey in February of 2017. The car shut off on Friday January 11th. It was towed to rossi where we have been taken it for almost two years of ongoing maintenance, both scheduled and non, and have spent over $10k in the last year alone, on service that did not resolve the clicking sound coming from the engine. Earlier that day I had made the earliest appointment available which was 10 days later, on the 21st. After breaking down, we went to their showroom that following Saturday and were seen by charlie. He wrote up a very reasonable deal for $1k down with many incentives including one for me being a volunteer emt. Matt the sales manager came back and told us that my wife's credit score was not what we had claimed and qualified for a tier two instead of a tier one which now required a $6k down payment. We checked my wife's credit score on experian before we left rossi and got the same score we had given matt originally, which we showed him and to which he responded "we use a different system". We decided to keep the Enclave and repair it. The battery, solenoid and valves were repaired before the 21st and we were told that we could pick-up the car after it was test driven by the technician. We did not hear back from rossi service so we called and were told that when test driving the vehicle after the most recent repairs - the technician heard a clicking sound coming from the engine. Wow! that sounded very familiar as this was the complaint we had often submitted to rossi in the past and that we suspected prompted expensive and unrelated repairs. This time however they told us they would need to diagnose the engine, so the next day they called us and told us, the car, with just under 103k miles - needs a new engine. No further explanation was offered except a quote of $6k.

3. 2l v6 engine dropped a valve and blew the engine. Is a known issue on that year model. While driving the car started making a clicking noise and stopped pulling in the middle of the road with no warning. Engine light came on. Car felt like it would not pull. Once got to the side of the road, the car would not turn over again. Took it to mechanic and said it dropped a valve. Was only able to find a piece of the valve left without going completely into the motor. Now selling the car for scrap.

The contact owns a 2009 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving at about 35 mph, the vehicle stalled making a ticking noise. The contact put the gear in park and restarted the vehicle and drove home. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a rod in the motor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer for a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 162,000. The VIN was not provided.
