I am a [xxx] and owner of a 2018 Buick Enclave that suffered a catastrophic transmission failure which nearly killed me and my child. On Friday, [xxx], while driving westbound on [xxx] from edison, NJ to my home in easton, PA, my vehicle suddenly and without warning came to a complete halt in the fast lane. A driver tailgating me swerved at the last second to avoid impact. Moments later, when I tried to move again, the car lost all power and drifted helplessly across two lanes of speeding traffic, directly into the path of two tractor-trailers barreling down at highway speeds. This was the hottest day of the summer, and I was left in terror, fully aware that one wrong move would have ended our lives instantly. The fact that my child could have lost their only parent because of a mechanical defect is beyond unacceptable. The stress, fear, and trauma of this incident cannot be overstated—it was a near-fatal event that never should have happened. My mechanic has since confirmed the transmission is destroyed, with black metal fragments throughout—clear evidence of internal failure. Only two months earlier, in June 2024, the car passed inspection with no codes or signs of a problem. This was not wear and tear; it was a hidden, catastrophic defect. In December 2024, gm recalled more than 461,000 vehicles, including certain 2018 Enclave models, for transmission defects leading to rollaway and internal failure. I demand gm confirm my VIN’s inclusion and cover the full cost of repair or replacement. I barely escaped a fatal crash. Gm must act immediately before lives are lost. I started my car at a cvs parking lot. When I made a turn, the car was out of control and I couldn't stop or turn the car. My car hit other three cars in the parking lot and finally stopped. The obd-ii code check later indicated a "engine misfire detected". I once got a recall letter from gm for the following issue. Not sure if this accident is related to this issue. "inoperative purge solenoid that could lead to excessive fuel vapors entering the combustion chamber from the fuel tank. This condition could result in no start, idle stall and possible drivability issues such as hesitation. " the good thing is nobody got hurt in this accident.

Brakes are not stopping in time they are continuously scrubbing I have changed brakes and rotors and they are continuously scrubbing and not allowing me to stop in time nearly almost ran off the road I have got my brakes inspected but mechanic say there was nothing wrong the place I took it to but there is something wrong with the brakes. There is a electrical problem when it rains things stopped working inside the car every time it rains like my speakers my warning sensors things in that sort. There's also an acceleration issue it is not catching speed it's been doing this since I got the car how to basically mash it to the floor just for the vehicle to go.

While driving at highway speed, service traction control/stabilitrak warning comes on. Vehicle slows and if driver attempts to accelerate (using accelerator pedal), it causes severe lurching of vehicle. This makes the vehicle basically undrivable while in the middle of traffic. You must use emergency measures to pull over (potentially across multiple lanes) off the road and while trying to do that, you are in a very high risk state of being hit. The problem is reproduceable. The manufacturer and dealer service centers are aware of this problem and it has been reported by many owners of gm vehicles since at least 2010. Search the internet and you will find hundreds of incidents being reported.

I took my Buick Enclave into the GMC dealership two years ago for an service airbag light that kept coming on. They sent me home twice saying it was just a computer issue. Now this recall is out and I asked for my car to be serviced as I’m a mother of 4 and can’t stop driving my vehicle. They said that the part isnt out yet and nothing they can do. I’m having to drive a dangerous vehicle around with no help from GMC.

On June, 4th, 2021 in the morning I went to markham park with my 13 year old daughter for the covid vaccine. We arrived and right after the shot on her we stopped our Tesla in a line where we should wait for about 15/20 minutes to see if everything was fine with my daughter. While the car was stopped in the line, I was talking to my daughter and the car started moving in the direction of the car in front of us and it hit the car many time till I turned the steering wheel to go away from there. Everything was very fast and confusing. I`m still trying to understand what happened with the car. The car was out of control and the car never tried to break or stop. I think it has stopped because I pressed the p button. I am so frightened and scared about what happened. My daughter and I, the passengers in the car in front of us and the people in the park could have been seriously injured. I opened a report at Tesla in the same day.

I bought a 2020 Buick Enclave, (owned by GMC) with 6 miles on it, 1 week ago. Yesterday the check engine light came on and the car started jerking anytime the transmission switched gears. I called to try to get it in to a certified Buick dealership to be looked at and nowhere can get it in for 3-5 days and none of the dealerships will give a loaner car until the time of the vehicle appointment. I contacted Buick directly regarding this and they told me the same thing, that we can't get a safe driving vehicle, until the one we have can be looked at by a dealership and if we take it to an un-certified shop that it would not be covered. So now I am stuck with either driving an unsafe car 50 miles on the highway to work for the next few days or not being able to go to work. This is a brand new car driven straight out of the floor room! Buick is putting people's life at risk by insisting that we drive this unsafe vehicle on the highway until we can get it looked at! looks like a huge lawsuit in the making!!!!!.

I was driving in town at about 25 miles an hour when my vehicle shut off the traction control and my vehicle wouldn't go above 15 mph. Dash said service traction control.

Engine light with engine power is reduced, traction control service came out several times on the highway with no snow ice or rain. Very scary moments, need to check out.

The contact stated that the catalytic converter, alternator, battery, fuel pump and fuel pressure sensors were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 158,000.

Driving on hwy at 60 miles per hour and sudden engine reduce power and stability track light are on. Can drive car more than 30 miles per hour now. And occasionally a back fire.

About a year ago, our 2014 Buick Enclave awd, began shuddering while driving and lagging when trying to accelerate. 4 months ago, the vehicle's check engine light came on while I was on the freeway. It also displayed the "traction control off" �stability control off" and "engine power reduced" signs on the dashboard. My vehicle went from 75 mph to 25 in a matter of seconds. . While I was on the freeway with my two children in the car! I was able to pull off to the side of the road, turn the car completely off and turn it back on again. This seemed to reboot the computer, but the check engine light remained on for several days. 4 months later, this has now happened about 16 additional times, 3 while on the freeway! we've replaced the throttle body, throttle body gasket, mass air full sensor, pvc valve and the power train module relay. We are continuing to have problems!! the most recent, this morning while taking my children to school. This on top of having to have the a/c evaporator replaced at least once/ year since we bought this vehicle brand new off the lot! I'm a little tired of putting my children's lives as well as my own in danger every time I take them and pick them up from school!.

While driving my 2013 Buick Enclave traction control, service stabili track flashes across dasboard. The check engine light comes on and engine speed is drastically reduced. Car does not accelerate properly and rpms are not producing speed. Car is lethargic and signs begin without warning. Once engine is turned off and turned back on traction control rests and display messages disappear but check engine light remains on. Temperature or weather or type of road you are driving on does not play a factor in defect of traction control stabili track.

For the last six months I've had messages saying service stabilitrak, service traction control, engine power reduced, and then it slowed immediately which was frightening when you ate going 60 mph. My local dealership says its fuse nox which id arcing and will be almodt 600 to fix. Now my power steering pump is failing, terrible noises wgen turning and recalls have been issued to 2012s. Very tired of being afraid to drive my car.

On two separate occasions, while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated without warning to approximately 10 mph. In addition, an unknown warning indicator illuminated. After driving the vehicle for a while, it regained speed and was able to be driven normally. The contact took the vehicle to conley Buick GMC (located at 800 cortez rd w, bradenton, FL 34207, 941-755-8531), but they were unable to locate a diagnostic code. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

I was driving down the highway and all of sudden the vehicle jerk back hard and I loss power and stabilize system shut down and could drive no more than 20 mile an hour. It gotten worst that my truck is jerking and shaking.

On 3/21/18 I was pulling out of a gas station to head to work. My traction control light lit up as well as my engine light. Warnings went across my dash stating "traction control off" "service stabilitrack" "engine power reduced" I couldn't go over 40mph. I made it back to work. After work only the engine light was on. The next day I drove it and by the afternoon the engine light had gone off. This morning, 3/23/18 I drove to work without any complications. Due to weather we closed our office early. I pulled out of the parking lot and my traction control lit up as well as my engine light. All three warnings went across my dash again and this time I could not go above 20mph. I made it home with my flashers on. Once I got home I let my car sit for a couple hours and then took it around the block. Again only my engine light was on. We will take it to the shop once the weather clears.

2008 Buick Enclave. Suddenly shuts off/stalls while driving. No warnings. First it only happened when proceeding from stops like red lights, and stop signs. Now it's also happening while in motion. I have to stop completely, and restart the car. It may take up to two attempts before it starts again. The first time I took it in was.

The VIN was not available.

Our vehicle was shifted in reverse to back out of a parking space. Engine was on, all controls normal, no warning lights, etc. As we backed out of our parking space all of a sudden the gas and brake pedals locked up and could not be moved. The car slowly rolled backyards due to slight inlcine. I quickly shifted back to park, turned off the car and waited a minute before restarting. All seemed fine. 2. 5 weeks later, the same exact thing happened again. My whole family was in the vehicle the first time and after only 4 days of ownership as a brand new car. The second time was my wife and kids in the middle of the gorcery store parking lot. The vehicle only had 1000 miles on it before being sent back to the dealer to figure out what happened. We traded the vehicle back to the dealer and took a heavy loss as this was the only solution offered to us. Gm refused to buy the vehicle back from the dealer because they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. I have gotten nowhere with gm.

Tuesday, 7/18/2017. I was coming over a small decline on local road in east brunswick, NJ. I applied the brakes and came upon the traffics light and traffics ahead and the vehicle shot foreword. Applying the breaks had no effect. In fact the car appeared to accelerate. I did not have enough time to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me which caused that vechile to hit another. My vehicle accelerated vs braking when applying the brakes. Applying the brake had no or little effect in slowing the vehicle. Is there, or has there been, reports of similar problems with acceleration problems with the Buick Enclave, 2015 model ?.

Hard shifting noted in gears. Car acts like it's in neutral when in reverse. Buick dealership says the wave plate is defect. Other 09 Buick Enclaves are covered by specialty policy. 14404 a. But not my VIN VIN. Same make model and transmission. I was told by GMC customer service to complain here.

Car shudders and has problems accelerating when gears shifts. Diagnosis=replace bank 1 camshaft actuator worn timing chains, replace all spark plugs and 3 ignition coils again. (performed pfi system dia test. Codes fired p0017 and p0300 stored. Correlation and misfire coes).

The contact owns a 2015 Buick Enclave. While the vehicle was idling in the driveway, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated. The vehicle drove through a neighbor's driveway and yard. The contact managed to place the gear in neutral and then in park. The engine continued to rev while in park. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The contact notified a local dealer where it was diagnosed that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and there were no recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but had not responded. The failure mileage was 8,000.

My cat kept going even after I stood on the brakes with my whole weight several times. I then put it in neutral. The motor raced but eventually slowed. This happened several years ago and the dealer blamed it on "floor mats". I burned up my brakes & tired today. It was not "mats". My phone is 858. 945. 2713 but I cannot get that phone accepted.
