I was driving on the interstate going about 70mph. All of a sudden the light on my console said traction control off, service stabilitrack. My gas would not work, the power steering off and all the power was going. I barely made it to the shoulder. It was very scary also have my two children in the car. I looked up the problem in my book and it said to turn off and wait 15 seconds then turn on. That did not work. I sat there for about 30 minutes. I looked under the hood, underneath the car to see if anything was leaking. Nothing. Finally it would turn over and start. I turned around to go home and about 5 miles from my house, it happed again out of no where. I again waited for about 20 or 30 minutes and it finally started. Now my check engine light is on. I am afraid to drive it now.

Check engine light came on and vehicle suddenly reduced speed while driving on residential street. Message displayed on panel, "engine speed is reduced. " in a separate issue, we were advised by the dealership to keep driving the vehicle even if the check engine light appears to empty out the fuel. The dealership believes the fuel is bad. This may be related to the first issue, but I am unsure.

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the stability traction control warning light continuously illuminated. The contact mentioned that every time the failure recurred, the vehicle would drastically decelerate making it extremely difficult to operate. The contact had to turn the vehicle off and on in order to reset the computer. The vehicle was able to restart each time but the failure was getting progressively worse. The vehicle was to be taken to a dealer to inspect and diagnose the failure. Also, the contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 15v415000 (structure) and was waiting on the permanent remedy and part to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Vehicle power steering fails at slow speeds/ most preveaent when turning, parking and etc. Very dangerous.
We were driving our Enclave on the highway (route 1 near stafford, va) when it felt like it was suddenly not shifting gears correctly and quickly thereafter lost power beyond 30 miles per hour. We drove into a parking lot. We called the nearest Buick dealership/repair shop (route 1 Buick in woodbridge, va) and told them of issue. They said it sounds like transmission and the wave plate is a "known Enclave problem. " they said to have it towed to them and they may be able to assist us with cost as it's close to within powertrain warranty. We had it towed to route 1 Buick. They diagnosed and found all transmission and wave plate codes. They said it was a "known problem" and so they called Buick gm service manager. Route 1 Buick called us back to say gm would not assist us as we were outside warranty by 3,000 miles and had no previous issues with transmission (I have found several other transmission and power loss complaints I and the previous owners made on this exact vehicle in my research into this. . . I have kept all records!). Route 1 said that our cost would start at $3,800 with no guarantee they wouldn't find other issues needing to be addressed. The said lucky for us, our vehicle had an open recall on a side air bag issue they could fix. As we realized we must pay out-of-pocket and couldn't afford $3,800, we paid them the $120 for diagnosis and towed it (at our expense) to dun-rite transmission in fredericksburg, va. Dun-rite found it had a broken wave plate. They rebuilt transmission for $2,800. Unfortunately, the stabilitrak, traction control, and air bag sensors are all also going off and car has had 2 other instances of losing power when driving since. We purchased the certified gm car Nov 2012. My car payment is $462. Per mo. Since that time we have spent an additional $6,095 on repairs and maintenance. Our average monthly expenses are therefore $801. Help us!.
04/24/2014 3:56pm our 2013 Enclave suddenly went into reduced engine power mode while traveling on the interstate at speeds of 65-70 when suddenly speed was reduced to 35-45mph. My wife almost got rear ended. She contact onstar for diagnostics but they could not see any issue with the vehicle. (not issues or diagnostic codes found) when this happened the service stabilitrak light lit, traction off light lit, flashing service engine soon light lit. Car running rough and went into power reduced mode with sudden reduced speed while driving on hwy. To date this has now happened several times and until this past Sunday, 10/26/2014 had never stored a code to show a problem. This event showed a c0561 code stored. I contacted the dealership for an appointment but they were not able to look at it until today, 10/29/2014 at this point there apparently were too many drive cycles and the code had cleared. The dealership advised me to bring it in ASAP on the next event of this happening without turning the vehicle off, I have know idea when or where I'll be when it happens again. . . . This is a big safety issue with this vehicle and I just hope to not get into an accident from this before they are able to fix it.

On March 27 2014 my Buick Enclave gave me an error message on the dash while driving on the highway traction control off, stability transmission needs service, and reduced power came on. The car went from 60 mph to 50 mph suddenly but then cleared up. I took the car into the dealer to be serviced on 03/28/2014. The local dealer stated that they found the issue and corrected it. On April 16 2014 I had the same issue however the event was much worst. I was on the a major highway doing 65 mph. The car did not give me any indication of any isssue. The dashboard displayed traction control off, service traction, and service stabilitrak and very quick and suddenly I lost all power to the car while traveling down the highway at 65 mph. The speedometer stated I was still at 65 mph however the car was not traveling at 65. I tried pulling on my hazard lights but they did not work at the time. The power steeling on the vehicle did not work. The gas pedal did not excel the car. I was almost hit by a tractor trailor who was traveling behind me. I tried moving to the slow lane however the car had no power sterring but the engine was on and the gas pedal was to the floor but the car was not acceleration. I had no power in the car, I was able to get to a safe spot were I tried turning the car off and back on. That did not solve any issues except for the hazard lights. I was then able to put on my hazard lights. The car never gave me an error that I had reduced power. Everything occurred in about 2 minutes. I immediately contacted the dealer to have the car towed. I have major safety concerns about the 2011 Buick Enclaves!!!!! I am very lucky that I was not killed on hwy 540. I don't think my air bags would have deployed if I were hit by a tractor trailer or car. Nothing was working in the car. Please call me with any questions!!.
All my tires keep getting low and check light engine keeps showing low tire pressure. I took it in to three different tire places they dont know what the problem is. Im constantly airing my tires everyday from summer throughout winter and its exhausting.
Driving through intersection roughly 35mph, transmission stalled and vehicle quit moving. Luckily all other vehicles stopped and no crash occured. Vehicle had all seven seats full with passengers, 2 adults and 5 children. Vehicle had to pushed out of the way to side of road. Passengers (adults, children and babies) were stranded in snowy weather and had to be picked up by another vehicle. Vehicle has 78,000miles on it with no previous issues with transmission. Was told by mechanic that its the 35r wave clutch plate. There is a service bulletin on this vehicle and other models like it such as the acadia. Cost will be upwards of $3500 to replace and the vehicle barely has any miles on it! why has this problem not be taken care of. . . . ???? it is a huge safety issue. Could have easily caused an accident and killed all seven passengers had we have gotten side swiped! this is a large SUV multi passenger vehicle. . . Not a two seat car!!.
I started from park and shifted to drive. As soon as I gently stepped on the gas to accelerate there was a jolt and loud noise. It shifted rough basically. The check engine light came on immediately. I stopped and looked under the car and hood for any signs of damage or leaking fluid and found none. I then decided to stop at the first auto part store I found to get the code read for the warning light. The codes read p0717, p0716, p0700, p0756. The tech told me that this indicated one of three problems all dealing with the transmission. So I decided to drive home and figure out what to do. As I started to drive it failed to shift from first gear. So I ended up driving slow due to the car being in first gear. Then suddenly the car acted as if it was in neutral, not allowing me to go forward or reverse. So I coasted to a stop and had the vehicle get pushed the remaining block. The shop tells me that it is some kind of wave plate and requires a new transmission at close to an estimated $5000. I just bought this car because I recently had a baby and have another child. I work for the military and can't afford this kind of repair 8 months after I had purchased it. Since this problem I have done some research and there are hundreds of people with the same problem. Which leads me to my question, when is enough? how many does it take to have a recall? my family are now down to one vehicle until I can figure out a way to pay for this repair.
The contact owns a 2011 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while at a stop sign, the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact was unable to control the vehicle and crashed into the side of a house. There were no injuries and a police report t was not filed. There vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Buick Enclave. While stopped and on a slight incline, the contact stated that her vehicle rolled backwards. The contact stated this has recurred several times since. The vehicle has not been repaired or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 85000. - ll.
We brought this car from landers Ford collierville in 19apr13 and I have had to get the brakes redone, and a valve with the air conditioner fixed. But we went to sunrise GMC on 28jun13 and they advised us that we need a brand new transmission in the car due to a crack in some part of the transmission. I haven't had the car that long and now it needs a new transmission. Landers Ford knew that that car had transmission problems. GMC advised us that this is a problem that happens in the Buick Enclaves and the arcadias. So if you know that this car had these problems, then why havent a recalled been done on the cars. We did research this past week and everyone complains about the transmission. We also called GMC and they advised me that since I brought the car from a Ford dealership and not GMC that they can not replace the transmission. But they can give us 70/30 we pay 70 percent of the repairs which I can not afford. They advised us that the car came off the line in 2007 and that is why the car is 10 months out of warranty.
An audible "sloshing" sound had been detected for some time but origin/exact location of sound not identified. When parking car after driving in thunderstorm all warning systems lights flashed, radio stopped, and radio and turn signals failed. Car did restart after sitting for brief period of time and systems worked except for xm radio. Took vehicle to Buick dealer who diagnosed problem as leaking windshield, removed and reinserted fuse for xm radio, and referred to company who had replaced windshield several months before. Windshield company determined windshield not leaking, but drained water from motor blower and blew out drainage tubes. One week later, water started to pour on to passenger floor mat. Warning lights for all systems flashed and electrical system shut down and care would not restart for a few minutes (and could not connect to onstar). When car restarted, lights did work, but turn signal indicators inside car did not, nor did speedometer, power windows, passenger airbag, etc. Had to drive 60 miles to dealership without these working. Paid to have "foam seal" replaced to prevent rain from entering car (the presumed source of problem). They also claimed to have drained water from motor blower housing cleared tubing. On the way home from repair, water again poured from area of motor blower onto passenger floor mat, and once again, electrical systems not working. Buick still does not know where water is coming from, [but believes that since electrical systems working fine. . . After sitting there for 24 hrs. . . Everything is fine. Obviously it is not. I have seen numerous similar complaints online dating as far back as 3 years. I will add that this follows 2 years of dealing with stabilitrak . . . Which is supposed to be a "safety" system but can be life threatening when the car suddenly reduces power in heavy traffic and/or no maintenance lane.
My 2008 Buick Enclave only has 54000 miles on it and the transmission had to be replaced. The rpms would race up but the car would not move. The air conditioner also quit working at 39,000 miles but I waited until this breakdown to fix it because it was the beginning of the cool season. The high pressure line to the condenser and evaporator had to be replaced.
Slowing down to stop for red light the car speeded up by itself. I had to press very hard on the brakes to stop the car .
The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while parked, the gear shifter was placed in reverse, but the vehicle drove forward. The contact depressed the brake pedal, placed the vehicle into park and shut the engine off. The contact proceeded to place bricks in front of the tires and shifted the vehicle into reverse. The vehicle reversed and the contact was able to begin driving as normal. The failure occurred on approximately ten different occasions. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostics and was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000.
I recently was driving my 2010 Buick Enclave as I was entering into a busy street after making stop I entered the street I have pressed the accelerator all the way down, once I was on the road I released the pedal but the car remained accelerated. The rpm around 7000, I tried to brake to see if will release the pedal and nothing happened. Finally I put the car in neutral and stopped and turned it off and the car was normal again. I took the car to the dealer for evaluation.
The contact owns a 2009 Buick Enclave. The contact stated she was accelerating to speeds of 45 mph and removed her foot from the pedal yet the vehicle continued to accelerate without warrant. She attempted to apply the brakes but the vehicle would not respond. The engine was shut off and she placed the vehicle into park to avoid crashing into a vehicle ahead of her. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where they were unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated she had experienced the failure at least twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,500 and the current mileage was 18,000.
In the past I had jerking or slipping of transmission at approximately 40 miles an hour, or the engine was having a coil miss fire. I had 3 new coils installed by dealer under warranty with similar problems before. Took to dealer and they could not determine if transmission was slipping or engine miss firing, but no code on miss firing engine. Slipping or hesitating of transmission is more likely but can not determine since does not act the same consistently. Steering noise started in the winter approximately November 2013, but off and on since; steering seems a little stiff but not failing yet like so many other complaints I have read about here. I was charged $342. 81 for dirty throttle body and oil in the air dust tube which might cause misfire, they cleaned and replaced bank 2 value cover and cleared codes, performed idle lean reset. This did not fix problem on 05/19/2014. I returned on 06/10/14 and left car till 06/11/14 the dealer let me use a loaner over night. The dealer said stumble/misfire at times was not acting up enough to diagnose. I had the cars automatic transmission flush service on 02/26/14 and there was no problem at that time. In the course of owning this vehicle I had 3 coils replaced with problems starting 01/05/10 one coil, second coil on 08/11/10. Third coil shortly thereafter, this is after complaining since 12/02/2009 about engine shudder. The misfire/stumble is still happening about 40 mph and sometimes around 20mph if you are slow going but not on a pull or accelerating. We love the car, but the problems are getting expensive and the worry of what else can go wrong is stressful. I did not mention the warranty repairs of water pump going out front motor mount failure, shift lever, airbags, seat belts, left out remote mirror failure, engine and transmission code updates. Dealer seem ok, so gm can not fix or will not due to cost.
