The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. The contact received a notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting). While driving 50 mph, the exterior lighting failed. The contact proceeded to drive home using the fog lights and high beams. The first time the contact experienced the failure was in December of 2013. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer on March 18, 2014. The manufacturer was notified. The recall notice was issued after the contact paid for the repair and the manufacturer would not reimburse the contact until the part was available and the repair was completed. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
Night highway driving the low beam headlights suddenly go out. Bad. High beams are ok. Fog lights are ok fortunately so I could drive home safely. Turn signals normal. Only the low beam headlights appear to be affected. They resumed working the next vehicle use, the next day.
