Low beam headlights randomly turn off while driving at night and day. Causing not to be able to see the roadway at all. Very dangerous!!! they give no warning at all. Only the low beams do this. Bright lights are not affected. There was a recall for this issue but they said my car was not affected. But it is 100% affected by this recall. Ot seems like the headlamp driver module is overheating. It gets extremely hot. This issue almost caused a very serious accident .

On three occasions, when driving at night, both headlights suddenly went out. The next day the headlights were working normally. The dealer's service department could not find anything wrong. Later, we found out there was a "safety recall" (#14291),but it expired one year before our car developed the problem. We have contacted the dealership and Buick, neither one will help us. They expect us to pay for the replacement of the defective part (headlamp driver module).

The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the headlights activated, the front driver’s and passenger’s side low-beam headlights intermittently failed to remain illuminated, making it difficult to see the roadway. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the hdm headlamp driver module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact referenced the NHTSA campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

My vehicle has been parked for the better of about two years due to head lamp failure and engine shutting off without warning at any particular time. Steps were made to fix the issue but the problem continues still to this day.
Low beam headlights intermittently go out. Work ok one minute, then go dark. Very dangerous. Known issue under gm recall # 14291. The national highway traffic safety administration campaign id number 15v-519. Problem has been confirmed by west-herr Dodge in rochester NY. Per info I have found this does not appear to have been permanently fixed by gm. As such the repair should be done at no charge going forward.
The hdm failed leaving me with only high beams, have bee told they are not under recall. Shamrock service center, spent 1 and 1/2 hrs diagnosing and found no recall. Many other models have been recalled for this dangerous problem. I am retired and cannot afford this repair. What can you do for me. When I turned on the lights to go home last week, there were no lights but high beams. I thought it was just bulbs, so I took it to my local repair shop. They diagnosed the problem and I am waiting for the part to come in. I know this will be expensive as I think its around $100. 00 per hr. It was in a parking lot where I discovered it. Had to drive home with the high beams.
While driving home on a city street we noticed that both low and high beam lights were not working.

2015 Buick Lacrosse. Consumer writes in regards to problems with the interior lights. The consuer stated the all the interior lights would turn off and on independently.
Headlamp failure - known recall #14291 my VIN was not part of the recall, but was diagnosed with the same issue. Driving on the highway at night, the low beam and day time running lights went out. I had my youngest child with me at the time. The dealership told me the recall wasn't covered and I had to pay the $360 bill.
My front headlamp low-beam keep burning out . . . Was suppose to be repaired by re=call. . . Have replaced lamp and wireing 4 more times since dealears fix.
All of a sudden my low beam and daytime running lights quit working on the driver's side. I noticed this when I started the car in the morning at my home.
Every time I get in the car the lights won't stay on. I change the bulbs and it still doing the same thing. The electrical system ignition is acting up to.
When I am driving sometimes the automatic lights shut off and the only lights that will work are my bright lights. Can happen anytime of the day.
When driving radio and dash lights go off for a second and come back on this occurs 5 and 10 minutes apart.

While driving, the low beams will randomly turn off. This is not provoked by bumps of any kind, they just turn off during random times. They have turned off on highways, on a city street, at a stoplight, there is no connection to the times it stops working. The high beams continue to work, and after a few minutes the low beams start to work again. This becomes problematic during night driving, especially in towns, when it is raining, and when it is foggy.
I'm an old man well one trying to make it home on the interstate traffic was kind of heavy and getting bad for a good reason something didn't seem right other cars was blinking their lights at I pull to side check my running lights where not working I try everything so I had to drive almost a hour with bright lights.
My head lights won't come on and my air bag light comes on and off all day long while driving.

My head lights looked melted low beam lights kept blowing out replaced light bulbs. You replaced the module on recall low beam keep blowing out. Replaced the whole casing both sides. The low beam lights (both) are out again. Can't drive at night. This I reported before you replaced the module on recall. While driving sun goes down I will notice no lights, right went out first now left.
My low beam headlamps go out intermittently without cause. Sometimes they come back on and sometimes they stay inoperable for extended periods of time.
Had my daughter's 2005 Buick Lacrosse hdm replaced for the recall and 3 months later the low-beams went out again. I took the car back to the dealer and they said the recall was done and now I would have to pay. The hdm failed while my daughter was driving home at night.
The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lacrosse. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v519000 (exterior lighting) and 14v355000 (electrical system). The parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect.
Vehicles low beam lights went out for no reason both at the same time. Worked an hour before and just quit. High beams will work. Read many complaints on the same thing while looking for solutions.
My daughter borrowed my car. On the way back, at night, with two children in the car ,on the highway the lights go off. She pulls over and tries to get them on. Thank god her husband was following her in their car, who she followed ,so she could see. So I go to the auto parts store to buy bulbs to find out I don't have any lights in the front. So I go to the garage, they replace the bulbs for the daylights. Now high beams flicker and still no lights. They say I need a modular. I call Buick and they tell me my car is not under the recall. This is a bad safety issue and should not happen and should include all models.
The headlamps are developing a film (common w vehicles of this era to present) of which cannot be erased even with suggested solutions ( such as certain household compounds- toothpaste, furniture polish, etc. ) I consider this a severe safety defect in manufacturing design. The car companies should be held responsible for designing basic auto safety elements that endure the life of the vehicle.
I drive at night and the low beam light out side shots off that I can not see the road to drive until I turn on the high beam to get to my place. Now the low beam light does not work at all. I took my car to the dealer for diagnostic, they coul not find what the problem is. It is of a matter of safty issue to drive at night when lights go off . I was driving last night and the light low beam went off " dangerous " I was driving in the city streets, I could not go to hyway. I normally drive in hiway.
The hdm module failed leaving no low beams while driving in a rural area at night. VIN was not covered by the recall allowing Buick to ignore the problem and leave the owner to pay.
Takata recall, while driving at night the low beam headlamps go off. This has happened several times starting in 2011 but have come back on until 10/14/2016, while driving at night on a busy city street. Now the low beams do not work at all. The recall description matches to what is happening to my 2006 Buick Lacrosse with this problem. I have contacted the local Buick dealer informed me my car VIN # is not on their recall list.
Low beams do not function, only high beams. When headlamps are switched to low beams they go dark. This occurred while driving down a dark rural road with no street lights.
My headlamps have gone out on me three times (oct. 7, 2016, Nov. 3, 2016, and Nov. 9, 2016 ) while either driving to work or driving home from work in a straight line and in the dark. The first time, I turned the switch off and back on. The lights remained on for the duration of the trip. The second time, the lights came back on without touching the switch, and were out briefly. The third time, the lights were out longer than the second time, but they did come back on without touching the switch. The first and second times happened on a rather busy state road while driving approximately 55 mph. The third time happened on a street near my home at about 20- 35 mph.
The contact owns a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that the low beam headlamps failed to operate. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting), but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the connector failed twice after having the recall repair performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 137,000.
I have not heard back about the status of a prior complaint that I submitted and was written back once about. My complaint read as followed: the low beam headlamps permanently fail to illuminate. High beam headlamps are not affected. Gm refuses to include this VIN in it's recall of Buick Lacrosse vehicles for this item but includes others of the same make and model. The replacement part available to the consumer only repairs this issue for a short time. Buick is requiring me to pay for the repair of something that has been recalled on other automobiles of the same make and model by taking it to a dealer where the new part is only available. The dealership is quite expensive compare to my regular auto repair place. I feel that the Buick company is acting inappropriately in only covering specific VIN numbers of Lacrosse from 2006. .
