Exterior Lighting Problems of Buick Lacrosse - part 2

Intermittent problem with headlamps going dark while driving at night forcing me to use my high beams. Daytime running lights appear to work although I wouldn't necessarily notice if they go dark during the day. I understand gm has a recall for this problem and want to know if my vehicle qualifies. I have not received any recall notice from gm although I read they have started to send notices out in may 2016.

The replacement part available to the consumer only repairs this issue for a short time. Buick is requiring me to pay for the repair of something that has been recalled on other automobiles of the same make and model by taking it to a dealer where the new part is only available. The dealership is quite expensive compare to my regular auto repair place. I feel that the Buick company is acting inappropriately in only covering specific VIN numbers of Lacrosse from 2006.

Beginning to drive home at night and discovered that headlamps were not illuminated. Stopped car to verify that headlamps were not working. Found that high beams would work but not low beams. Tried resetting auto headlamps without success. Was able to drive home with high beams. Once home tried resetting auto headlamps again - no success. Not likely that both headlamps went out at same time but checked bulbs and fuses for low beam headlamps - all good. Climate control system. On three occasions the climate control system has switched to heat and high fan, locking the driver out of the controls and causing the passenger compartment to become extremely hot and uncomfortable. I was able to pull over to the side of the road on one occasion, turn the engine off and let the car sit for a few minutes before restarting the car. The system returned to normal. On two of the three occasions, the car was in motion. On one occasion it happened in the garage. Dash lights - while driving at night, all passenger compartment lights went off for about 30 seconds, and then came back on. I took the car to the local dealer and they checked the system, including the battery. They found no computer codes to explain the malfunction.

My head lights would not work, the inside tire light would not go off, also the oil light stayed on, had these checked and was told the body control module was bad, had it replaced. Cost $505. 76.

About one year ago, I received a recall notice regarding the exterior light relay. Actually, this was an intent to recall since I'm still waiting for the actual recall. Had the relay replaced two week before the initial notice. Went to dealer, they said they couldn't do anything until I received an official notice to bring the car in. "still waiting. Replaced the unit a second time. It failed. On December 28, replaced the unit a third time along with a battery shut off switch. Guess what??? this too failed. . . Within 24 hours!!! do I need to purchase a few dozen of these relays in the hopes that gm will come out with a fix?? please help.

I received a recall notice in January 2015 that was discovered November 2014 according to gm recall info. It is gm safety recall 14291. I checked today, Dec 21' 2015, and gm indicated there is no remedy yet. This seems like an excessive period of time. Maybe NHTSA should investigate.

My exterior lights went out twice last night, while driving down the interstate (approximately 70 mph). I was able to put my flashers on and get off each time. Buick told me they have a temporary fix, but also told me the high-beam lights will work, so I can drive with those on. I don't think that is an acceptable solution. My two primary concerns are: (1) Buick issued a recal and 10 months later cannot fix the defective parts and has no estimate for when they can (2) ntsa has no record of this recall notice or that this vehicle needs repairs.

Purchased a 2007 Buick Lacrosse less than 2 months ago. Within the first month the low beam head lights went out. Took back to the dealer and they replaced the head light module. No the low beams are not working again. Now the dealer is telling me I have a faulty fuse block under the hood.

Was driving 50 miles hr on oldlandis Ave head lights shut off twice went on to shoulder almost crashed in ditch had to drive home with high beams.
