4 Service Brakes problem of the 2016 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 10/15/2023

Adaptive cruise control dropped out, taking along with it the abs (warning light), stabilitrak (handling system) (warning light), collision prep (message). Dealer states the abs computer module failed, now in process of finding a replacement. Meanwhile, the abs, cruise control, and other systems mentioned here are inoperative. It may well be that this may be considered to be a component failure, not an inherent safety issue but under some driving conditions it is clearly a safety consideration.

Luckily I was able to make it over 2 lanes and stop in the grass on the side of the road. I had the car towed to my mechanic and he had to replace the whole brake assembly. 9 Service Brakes problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/25/2023

We're purchasing this vehicle from superior auto, and we seen a recall back in 2011/12 from stabiltrak and deterrent auto theft, since this $21, 240 car we've had issues causing the car to shut off and lock up without warning, no power steering or brakes, and stabiltrak and auto deterrent theft warning pop up, and had it to 2 mechanics that are baffled and it produces no codes, I've almost gotten in 3 accidents causing this, and now I'm too scared to drive this car, the recall had same issues for improperly calibrated esc defective sensors not showing codes, nobody will fix the issue without codes and I don't need to hurt or kill anyone. Superior auto is not caring about taking this car back or trading it in, please help me figure this out, there was no accidents, but this car is unsafe for the road.

10 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 12/25/2022

The brakes are getting stuck on while I am driving. The most recent occurrence happened while I was on the highway. The car would not accelerate, the whole system was shaking, there was no safe space for me to pull over. This vehicle has a recall for this exact problem but from what the dealer is saying, not my VIN. I find it hard to believe that this has occurred and it is unrelated to a previous recall for faulty brakes on 2011 Buick Lacrosse. Since this incident, the abs light has been on and another dash light has been on. My mechanic believes the brakes getting too hot may have lead to further damage to the abs sensor.

Failure Date: 04/06/2021

I was driving my car to my house an my car started acting funny. While driving randomly 2 lights came on saying service brake assist and service stabili track. It became extremely hard to steer, the automatic brakes stopped working and it cut off on the highway. I put it in neutral and got to the side of the road. When I cut it back on it had the following warning lights; service brake assist, service stabili track. I almost died and my girl had to pay for a tow truck for me to get home and I was right up the street. I feel like it dangerous and when I told GMC they said its nothing they could do. It is several recalls with vehicles just like mine that are the same year with the same problems but they said they would not help me. My car is not drivable and I can not afford to get all the things fixed that were recalls. I am immobile and it is causing harm to me financially. I trusted GMC and I feel like they should do right by consumers.

15 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

Constantly been having engine problems. Engine light coming on and off. I was driving it down a highway, coming to a stop due to a red light when the whole front of my car begin to sputter and gave out. It read "stabiltrak" but when taken to the shop it only read a code for the carbon filter. Which, was changed and did fixed the problem for the time being. However, its doing the same thing again. . Which is very dissapointing because its a very well kept up with car, never goes without its necessities. . And at this point I'm thinking it could be my braking system due to this problem weakening my brakes but I don't see why because those were changed about 6 months ago. Maybe, even an electrical problem with my traction control.

This occurs when the weather is warm out and occurs in all stages of driving when this happens (stationary, in motion, etc).

20 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/17/2019

The component is the brakes and the brake pedal while not engaging the brakes they remained on even after the vehicle was shut off . The vehicle brake lights remained on this was not duplicated when I took the car in by the dealer of how the brake remains engaged we even when not being used I would have to release the break by pulling it up with my foot while driving . This was duplicated and witnessed by two others the dealership where I bought the car and a trusted mechanic. Which no avai there was no warning light indicating any type of concern prior to it doing this. The brake pedal being slightly stuck my transmission shifts not properly and hot feeling to the car now I have a warning saying that ac will not work due to the overheating of my engine which I believe to have repaired however the repair that was believed to be the problem obviously wasn't the problem because the light still remains on and the fan runs continuously the minute I start the car to the time I shut the car off I live in north dakota and it is -1 today and the fan continues to run at all times and the warning light is on cooling fan the car lunges at times which is easy to lose control over when it does this it lunges to the point where it physically noticeable and and no warnings of this that a compensation is going to need to be made in my driving with this lunge issue. I do feel this break issue has affected many other parts of the vehicle and the safety associated with these components. Also at times the driver's seat will not move it goes up to the dash or back to the back seat leaving me in a position where I cannot drive the vehicle safely at all. Also the cruise control would not engage because of the brakes being slightly engaged. Took her to the dealership discussed this problem with them and they could not duplicate and it's been going on since I purchased the car it had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it and it continues to do this and I think it's a safety issue.

Could not press on steering box on left above. Engine shut off while taking a right turn driving a few days after we bought the car. Steering and brakes went. Car shut off in middle of the road on a busy street. Car did restart and drive home about one mile. Drove the car 2 more times with no problem. Then on day 10 drive car couple miles to store on very busy street; car shut off while driving taking right turn and steering and breaks did not work; almost ran into an oncoming vehicle as car would not steer into store parking lot. Turned car in automatic ignition and it started; waived oncoming car; apologized; and car was parked. Drove home without incident. Going to call Honda dealer that sold me this car, there is recall on 2000-2009 I just researched, but unsure if recall extends to this behicle 2010 model. Please contact me if any action or remedy in law I may have. This is very dangerous situation; no one should have to be physically injured before obtaining a fa ir remedy. 28 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 05/29/2018

While driving around 65 mph on a highway. The battery light went on. Then suddenly the power steering and brakes died. It was very scary. A hugh safety issue, this very easily could have lead to a serious accident, crash or death. The steering was very difficult to turn and the brakes hard to push down. But the car was still running and luckily I was close to a exit. I pulled off the highway and stopped in store parking lot. It would not start after getting there. I had to have it taken to a Buick dealership. It was also showing a air bag error message. They told me it had to do with the seat position or something like that. I have had it there 6 times this year with the same issue. About 3 weeks ago for the 7th time of taking it there they finally replaced the hybrid battery stating that was the problem. However it worked for only 9 days. When I went to drive it on the ninth day, the battery light was again on and had no power steering or brakes. I left it in my garage, but ultimately had to take it back to the company who has now had it for 2 weeks stating that there is some type of parasitic draw on the batter and it won't hold a charge. They also can't find the issue with what's wrong with the car. This car is not safe and should be recalled.

Engine shit off, brakes wouldn't work, steering wheel locked, lights went off, then wouldn't start. Then the vehicle instructed to roll driver window down then up, roll right window down then up. Almost like it was trying to reboot. But this happened in the middle of driving. After trying a third time to start, it started. All information was gone, no mileage, oil life gone, tripometer gone. Drove vehicle home, just a block away and been too scared to drive the vehicle since.

32 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 10/31/2017

Car has autostop. While waiting on light and when it changed car stalled like it did not want to start up. It made the noise like someone turned the key with the car still on, but this is a keyless ignition. It has died this several times and I have taken it to Buick dealer and they say nothing wrong with it, it has did it twice more since they checked it. Last time I was at a food drive thru and it stalled made noise then started back up. Vehicle was stationary. It seems like the autostop gets stuck and their is a delay starting back up. That is dangerous when turning at a light. Please investigate . Thank you.

35 Service Brakes problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 08/16/2017

When garcia Buick in santa fe nm drove my car into their shop they said the brake pedal went to the floor and the car almost ran into a wall. They told me the problem was traced to a malfunctioning check valve in the power brake boster pump inlet pipe assembly p/n 20935438. This is a terrible design and a huge saftey problem. The loss of a vacuum assist device should never allow the brake pedal to go to floor and not stop the car.
