4 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/05/2014

Our 2008 Lacrosse has had a problem with the passenger side air bag for a long time. The light would always stay off. About a year age we had it checked out by a dealer. They said it had a short in the system and would cost $1000 to fix. After they troubleshot the system, the light started to work properly. However, recently it has become erratic, some times showing it off for a period of time then going to on. As this is apparently the most common problem with this model, is there an investigation ongoing. We believe that there should be a recall on this model.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2007 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/12/2011

We are repairing a 2007 Buick Lacrosse cx for a customer and are unable to complete repairs because gm does not have a driver's side curtain airbag available and apparently does not have any in line to be produced. We have been waiting for several weeks for this safety part for a four year old car and the part is not available nationally.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

I wish to formally complaint that Buick has been remiss in its service to its customers. After a simple google search I found that the problem of malfunctioning passenger side airbag module (passenger presence is not detected when the passenger is in the seat and shows malfunction on the dashboard) is pretty common with this vehicle. I am very surprised Buick is not aware of this serious flaw and did nothing to rectify it. Instead the customer is beset with high repair costs each time this module fails due to design flaw than due to normal wear and tear.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2007 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/12/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. The contact checked NHTSA's crash test rating for the vehicle and found it to be very low. The contact also discovered a recall on gm's website for the side/curtain air bags not deploying. Gm was called, and confirmed recall # 07003. Nhtsa did not have a record of this recall. The contact stated that gm did not send the recall information in the mail , and was informed to contact the local Buick dealer to schedule an appointment for the recall repair. After the vehicle was serviced the contact noticed that the repair order stated that only a partial repair for the recall was completed. The repair shop's reason for not performing the entire repair was because the vehicle did not have side air bags. The contact showed the mechanic that the vehicle contained side air bags, but they still would not complete the repair work. The manufacturer stated that they would call the dealer to resolve the problem, and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to another dealer. The second dealer could not understand how to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer issued case # 71-506543527. The current mileage is 3,850 and failure mileage was 3,730.

9 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2005 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/17/2005

The consumer complained about a problem with the air bag on the passenger's side. The air bag sensor was deactivating when his wife was in the passenger's side seat. The passenger weighed 121 pounds. The air bag will stay on and activate when the owner was in the seat weighing about 50 pounds more than the passenger. The owner had the car taken to the dealership to be checked, and the dealership said it was the design of the vehicle, and it could be the magnetic field. The manufacturer was contacted, and they called the dealership to see what was going on and they said that it was the magnetic field. They could not help either. The owner said that he could not get lt fixed because the dealer indicated there was nothing wrong with the car. The owner said that it was a design problem and no one can fix it. All of the information given was what the consumer provided.
