4 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 01/18/2024

The stabilitrak system has an incorrect calibration that may cause the system to not properly detect if a sensor were to malfunction, and the warning light indicating that the system is not operating would not illuminate, as required in the safety standard. The stabilitrak system falsely activates resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration, particularly at higher speeds, which may cause the driver difficulty in maintaining the vehicle's desired path of travel and desired vehicle speed, and could result in a crash without warning.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 10/01/2023

The car continues to have serious engine issues. I keep getting a service stability track and engine power reduced warning. It has happened to me on the expressway and the car will not accelerate past 20 miles per hour. I had the car repaired on October of last year (3 months ago) and the issue persists. I decided to research online and this seems to be a major issue going on with Buicks. It sounds like gm has done nothing to remedy the malfunction. Many people state that even the dealers can seem to fix the issues and have no clue as to why this happens. This is a serious and life threatening mechanical failure that needs to be addressed.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/05/2023

I get reduced engine power and service stabilitrak messages. Engine code p2138 is prevalent. The car will not accelerate, nor maintain highway speeds, forcing the driver to pull off the road and shut off the car. The warning message returns under normal driving conditions. This code points to several components [accelerator pedal position (app) sensor, throttle body assembly with sensor, manifold absolute position (map) sensor, etc. . . ] all of which I have replaced. It is rumored that general motors knows that it is a problem and the true fix is to replace the wire(s) and seal or replace the connector. Refer to gm technical service document 070604019f.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/15/2023

So many issues with the Buick. Made of glass. First I had no coolant line and I took it to be inspected before at, baumen Ford and they said everything was fine with it. Turns out needed new coolant line, head gasket, timing cover, and switch. 5 new tires, rebuilt transmission, epc solenoid, transmission lines, rear pivot, left front wheel barring, formed band, and many many more. Currently with everything replaced and more that I haven’t listed/can’t state because don’t know the term. Already has costed me 10k. And still have issues, with the app, code p1125, p2120, p2138, & c0240. Need to inspect these car models from 2003-2009 as they all have similar issues and nothing has been done.

I have been dealing with this problem for over 7 months now. My Buick Lacrosse '12, while driving it (doesn't matter the speed) all of the suddent it starts locking and unlocking, immediately after the speed drops and the car comes to a complete stop. I have little children that ride with me in the car- while driving on the interstate this is a huge life hazard, because I can't control when the car stops. I have taken it to multiple shops, non a single one of them can find anything wrong. No codes come up when they check for it. This is beyond frustrating. I see other Buicks have been recalled due to this issues. Please help!! I am seriously concerned that me and my family could have a fatal accident because my car stops on the interstate with out warning. My name is [xxx], my husband is [xxx]- contact cell [xxx]. 12 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 07/12/2021

I noticed today as I was stopped at a red light with my foot on brake the vehicle was kinda jumping like it was trying to go while foot was on brake. I drove a little further and the service stabilitrak light came on followed by the reduced engine power. The car proceeded to die in the middle of a busy street. After a few minutes it did restart and I was able to get it home. This seems to be a common problem with 2011 Buick Lacrosse. Ihave seen several complaints about this same issue.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2008 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 06/23/2020

Once in a while it acts up where it states that it's got low oil pressure even tho it's got plenty of oil, also it has misfired during when this happens. It's like this: I'm driving. Everything is fine until all of the sudden I notice engine light is on also the t/c light comes on and it also states the low oil pressure and the acceleration pedal it acts up. For example, I'm giving gas and it isn't accelerating as much as it should be and it totally fluctuates. I've also had the car misfire and shut off during one of these episodes as well. These episodes of what I had just described comes and goes and actually it stayed gone for a good while now until just a few minutes ago. The guy who sold me this car told me that theresa recall on whatever issue I'm having with the accelerator pedal (I plugged in fixd tool which tells me what is wrong with my car and gives me two codes the codes being: p: 2138 and codes p: 1125.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2009 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 09/29/2019

Reduced power/traction control light came on suddenly and reduced car power immediately. This made for a very dangerous situation while passing a truck and entering the highway. The car dropped speed very quickly making for a potentially deadly situation. This problem comes and goes with no warning until it happens. Research shows this is a big problem for gm vehicles especially the 2009 Buick lacross models. It's a disaster waiting to happen if it hasn't happened already. This needs to be recalled ASAP.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/30/2019

Takata recall. As I was driving on the highway my vehicle slowed down on its own in the midst of 70 mph traffic and as I pushed on brakes my vehicle jerked. When I tried to speed back up my car slowly accelerated. I was terrified when it slowed down because the car behind me almost hit me. My car is now give me a warning sign stabilize track assist but I had my breaks check and they were fine. Now I start to smell a burning smell sometimes when I'm driving.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/25/2019

I was stopped at a red light when my vehicle accelerated forward and I was almost hit by several cars across the intersection. I stepped harder on the brake and managed to stop my vehicle although the engine was revving very high. I managed to find an opening in traffic and pulled over. I turned the car off and restarted it. The rpm's were even higher now(over 5000). I immediately turned it back off and called the dealership. I was told it was unsafe to drive and to have it towed to the dealership. I had it towed and was just informed by the service manager at the dealership that there is no recall for this issue ( which is an accelerator sensor). I think this could have been very serious. I am even more outraged because of the fact that my daughter was in the car with me. I hope you can you can please look into this matter before there are any fatalities somewhere because of Buick's negligence( I have reported this occurrence to Buick support).

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2016 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 04/13/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Buick Lacrosse. While the vehicle was in reverse, the contact attempted to shift into drive, but the vehicle failed to move forward. In addition, while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle failed to move forward. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, including the check engine wrench, traction control, and stabilitrak. In addition, the speedometer and temperature indicators would go to zero. Also, when driving 50 mph, the rpms would go up and down. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to texan GMC Buick (18225 eastex fwy, humble, TX 77338, (281) 973-3117) six times where it was diagnosed that multiple failure codes were found and there was a loss of communication. The dealer performed a calibration and cleared all the codes. The vehicle was test driven and all the gauges were at zero. The following failure codes were found: u0100-u2099-u0140-u0120 (stored in trans, bcm, park brake, fuel pump control module, engine control module failing intermittently, replace engine control module assembly, performed programming and mobilizer learn and setup procedures, clear fault, and road test). The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: 9-5302718071. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/19/2019

Driving 60 mph on the highway. Suddenly the information panel flashed stabilitrak service required (or similar) then low power mode. Car went from 60 to 30 mph on the highway. Unable to speed up. Needed to pull over to the side of the road. Turned car off. Tried to restart and it wouldn't restart for several tries. Restarted and still said low power and was idling low. Tried again and was normal. This has happened several more times and always is similar. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all in a 30 mile trip, sometimes it happens 3 times. Very dangerous! could be rear ended! I have read many other accounts of this happening in the 2011 Buick Lacrosse. After this the check engine light stayed on. When I had the auto parts store run diagnostics it flagged multiple misfires, throttle position sensor 3 times, power control module indicator, traction control. It seems this is a flaw in this car. I attempted to get a picture of the satbilitrak sensor indicator light, but it flashes on and off pretty quickly and you never know when it will happen.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 01/27/2019

My car stated that my trakstabilty system needed to be serviced then reduced engine power lite up. Car would not shift and would not increase in speed over twenty miles per hour. I had to pull over and turn my car off leave it parked until I could get it to the dealership. The throttle body was defective. This has happened on other 2011 Lacrosses and their is a special service bulletin with free repair but for some reason not in mine. I had to pay 500 dollar to replace this. My car only has 74000 miles on it and I could have been injured if I wasn't in a place where I could turn my vehicle off safely.

29 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 08/14/2017

I noted the exact same problem reported on the NHTSA site for this same make and model of car. It's included under the heading vehicle speed control. I just purchased this car in the past month and now notice that each time I try to move my foot from the foot feed to the brake pedal my foot catches on the side of the brake pedal. It seems to me to be an obvious safety risk in that it takes another movement of my foot to get it on the brake pedal slowing my response to brake. I fear that if I need to stop quickly, I will either miss the brake pedal or will have a delay in reaching it which could cause a serious accident if braking quickly is necessary to avoid a crash. This happens every time I move my foot from the foot feed to the brake pedal!.

30 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 07/12/2017

Vehicle shuts down while in motion on highway, streets, etc . Cannot break , steer , etc. Check engine light comes on. Sometimes will start right back up with a jump but will shut down again as driving. Brand new battery . Very unsafe !!! taken to GMC dealership but still not fixed.

31 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 02/13/2017

"takata recall" I have a recall letter on the throttle sensor and if I have any issues please take into a dealer right away I did this in November of 2016 and they said code did not show up, so 3 months later I have same issues with the car not going over 40 m. P. H and my engine power is reduced. I have 3 diagnostic test that show the throttle sensor is bad I also have documentations of this. I have paid a dealer $100 dollars twice for them to tell me the code still did not show up so they won't replace the recall. I have replaced the throttle myself and paid out of my pocket because the car is un-drivable since Feb 13th 2017 I have been dealing with gm customer care on this issue and they refuse to help me with anything. If this is a recall why am I putting out money for a part that is bad and needs to be replaced. This has been going on for almost 4 months, first time I was going 55 mph and was able to pull over right away. The second I was getting off the hwy and was only a mile from work and was able to pull into work. The third time this happened I was almost killed coming home from work on the hwy when I had to drive in the emergency lane doing 40 when the speed limit is 65 with a semi behind me I was a nervous wreck by the time I was able to get off the hwy and turn the car off. I also have the part to show that it is bad.
