Three days ago, while on a trip from the west coast of florida to the east coast of florida; and while driving on the highway at 65 mph, the warning bells started dinging and the messages: service stabilitrak, abs, and park assist off kept flashing off and on; the car began jerking and losing engine power; the tachometer, speedometer, and temperature gauges were jumping around all over the place; and the check engine light came on. (a video of what occurred was taken to show as proof). I managed to pull off the side of the road, turned the car off and sat for several minutes, then started the car again. Less than a minute after I got back on the highway, the same events occurred again. After at least 30 minutes or more of the car continuing to malfunction while driving; it suddenly stopped giving me warning signals and engine power seemed to stabilize; however, the check engine light remained on. Once I reached my destination, I didn't use the car for two days. My return trip home, which was approximately 140 miles, was uneventful; however, the very next morning on my way to work, while sitting in traffic on the expressway, the warning bells suddenly started ringing again, and the service stabilitrak and abs lights came on. Fortunately I was able to make it to work and called the Buick dealer to bring my car in to have it checked. In the past few months, this problem has occurred 3 to 4 times, but each time only lasted moments and never to the extreme that it did . I received a letter from Buick about 3 months ago that pertained to such issues and loss of engine power; and the letter stated that the car should be taken to the Buick dealer and repaired at no cost. This is an extremely dangerous problem that needs to be addressed and resolved immediately.

Over the past several months, while driving, the service stabilitrak warning light comes on; the abs & park assist lights flash on and off; my rpm, speedometer, & temperature gauges go haywire; and the engine loses power causing the car to jerk. I never know when this will happen. On 3/18/16, I was put in a dangerous situation when this happened while driving across the state of florida on a 2 lane highway that had no safe place to pull off the road. The check engine light also came on and stayed on thru the rest of my drive. Two days later, the drive home was incident free & the check engine light was gone. On 3/22/16 I took the car to a gm dealer; showed the service tech a video of the events happening as I was driving and a letter I got from gm regarding a possible throttle sensor problem that causes reduced power and malfunction indicator lamps to appear. The gm dealer tech said my cars problems had nothing to do with gm's letter and he was 90% sure my fuel injector needed replacing. I took the car to my personal auto mechanic for 10+ yrs, who works for a very reputable company, for a second opinion. Since the codes had been cleared by the dealership service dept and the car checked out ok my mechanic said to drive it and bring it back if the problems occurred again. It recently started happening again & my check engine light came on so I took the car to my mechanic who found multiple codes for ecm & tcm lost communication pcm malfunction & other communication issues. He drove the car and experienced what I was explaining was happening. My mechanic couldn't pinpoint the problem but said there was no problem with the fuel injection system; that it's electrical. He suggested we take the car to another Buick dealer to have it checked out. This is a very dangerous situation & I don't feel safe driving the car since I never know when the problems will start happening.

I was getting on the on ramp for the interstate and gradually attempting to gaining speed to but my vehicle would not pick up speed. I pressed the gas pedal to the floor with no pick up. Then all of a sudden my vehicle began to pick up speed. When the vehicle got up to approximately 60 mph it began to do the same thing again I had the accelerater pedal to the floor. I could here the vehicle idling and after some time had passed it began to pick up speed again. I've had my vehicle for four years and have kept up with the maintenance at the dealer ship. I have paid for diagnostics several times at the dealership to no avail. I took it to the dealer but they found nothing wrong with it. I have taken it more than 5 times in an attempt to rectify the problem with no success. It's not a constant thing, however it is quite dangerous as well as unsettling not knowing when or where my safety may be comprised in this vehicle. This is my second Buick Lacrosse which has had problems of this nature. I was hoping my problems with my 2005 Buick Lacrosse was an isolated incident but I'm beginning to think perhaps it wasn't. Maybe this can all be attributed to just poor workmanship with inferior product manufacturing.
I was driving on the freeway this morning doing about 60mph in traffic and all of a sudden my car lost power. The dash or the dic went completely blank, but not before all of the chimes, and the caution alerts appearing and then I started to loose speed. Fortunately I was able to pull off to the side of the freeway. At that point I put the car in park after a minute I restarted it and continued to drive to work. This same incident occurred back in November of 2014. Coincidently I was on the freeway then too. But when I called the dealership back in November when this first happened they informed me that there was nothing that they could do unless I was able to recreate the issue. But of course I can't recreate the issue and now four months later it's happening again. I don't understand why there has not been a recall for this. Especially considering I have read other complaints for the same reason.
This is a reoccurring issue with the car shutting off completly while driving or loss of engine power.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the passenger was in the vehicle and noticed that the speedometer suddenly was at 120 mph. The contact stated that she was in a wheelchair. The tire warning indicator illuminated, the vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified and the approximate mileage was 55,000. Rw.

The vehicle start making a funny noise and it kept getting louder and louder, then all of a sudden it cuts off. I was able to restart the vehicle after I sat for a while but it is still making a funny noise. I have been told by a mechanic today that it is the power steering. That will have to be fixed. I am sure that it will cost a lot of money.

This is the third time within a 2 month time frame that I have been having a "service traction system", "service theft system", "abs system" on my odometer. I had to stop and turn the car off. Then they replaced the wheel barring, then they did the electrical and tire and now it is acting up again and they dont even know what it is this time.
While driving at 35 mph or 50 mph car slow down to 10 mphstops and won't accelerate(gas pedal is hard won't give gas) . Engine light comes on and chimes saying reduce engine power and traction is off (service traction). When try to steer of the road steering wheel is hard to turn. I have had the throttle body clean and it's still doing the same thing. Very dangerous when driving at night. Gm needs to fix all problem won't drive to dangerous. Can you please help me purchase car March 2012.
While turning left at a major intersection, car lurched forward and gained speed/momentum while at same time steering wheel became stiff and very difficult to turn & driver could not control the car. Car did not complete the left turn but rather continued driving as if all on its own and crashed into a high curb on right side of car. Air bags did not deploy; front car parts simply crumbled and fell off; suspension was ruined; car tire was punctured along with the tire rim being cracked clear through in a couple of areas. Driver was injured with head injury, cracked rib, and broken rt. Forearm. Car was totalled out by the insurance company.
The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated to approximately 45 mph. The contact had no control of the vehicle and it crashed into a snow bank. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle was able to be driven and taken to a local automobile repair shop to be diagnosed. We have experienced multiple electrical problems with our 2009 Buick Lacrosse. It first appeared as a bad battery which was replaced. Using the in-car digital readout, we began to see strange voltage readings in the car. The voltage would some times read as low as 12. 6 volts and then would start a steady climb up to 14. 4 volts. It might stay that way for hours or might slowly drop to the low level. At the low level, we have noticed that multiple items like the speed control and the air conditioning would not work until the voltage was at the high level. We have had an episode where the low beam would not operate until I switched the high beam on and them switched to low beam. We have received the recall noticed on that item. Other strange things are happening like the radio changing stations on its own. The passenger seat indicator reads false at times when traveling. The air bag indicator light reads off and the seat belt indicator read unlatched. As we continue traveling, the indicators go back to their normal indications.
I have had multiple issues with my 2012 Buick Lacrosse, it started sooner than this with my air deflector falling off at 75 mph and almost flipping my car. This time on July 30th my vehicle went completely out from the memory loss, the transmission just stopped working and I was stalled in one of the busiest intersections in my city. As I was trying to get my vehicle to move again the light turned red and an 18 wheeler almost broadsided me. I found out that back in may a safety recall was sent down on my vehicle. The ones with eassist the battery in the back can catch fire and cause problems. I did not even get my notice until I had picked my vehicle up and gm said they weren't going to send notices until they "had a problem" well parts on national back order due to the problem seems like a huge problem. Gm keeps giving me excuse after excuse and does not want to help me in all the problems I have had. My air deflector falling off they said could not happen, I said it did and it is gone, can't reproduce something with nothing there. In front of my neighborhood a cadilac escalade dropped his air deflector too, same side dropped, same side twisted off, nothing in the road to cause the problem and I have the proof yet gm doesn't care and still says it doesn't happen. My mechanic said if it is not installed properly they will just fall off, the air deflectors on gm products are held on by only 2 bolts, the other spots have never been bolted on, now I have a damaged vehicle and gm says it doesn't happen. I have almost been killed three times and my daughter once in this vehicle, how normal is that? please help!!.

While driving, the engine light came on, followed shortly thereafter by the traction control light. Then the engine began to lose power and the accelerator pedal did not work. A notice appeared on the dash control: "engine power reduced" and "service traction control". If I held the accelerator pedal down all the way to the floor, after about 5 seconds the car began to accelerate quickly. I could then maintain speed by alternately stepping on and releasing the accelerator pedal quickly. Accelerating from a stoplight is a very slow and disruptive (to traffic) process. This has happened multiple times and has failed several attempts at repair. On some occasions, the car has begun to accelerate on its own during this period of malfunction, such that I have had to ride the brake pedal. On some occasions this problem has remedied itself after a couple of days, with turning the engine on and off to reboot. The problem can last for days at a time. I have replaced the throttle body sensor to no avail. Interestingly, I also owned (until last week) a 2007 Lacrosse which does the exact same thing, and has also had the throttle body sensor replaced with no luck. I have seen multiple descriptions of this by people online, describing exactly the same conditions and warnings. This is a significant safety issue when it happens, as I cannot safely accelerate in busy traffic, and the car slows down to speeds unsafe for the conditions. I find it difficult to believe gm does not know about this, in that I have had the same problem with 2 Lacrosses. Thank you.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at 75 mph, the vehicle lost power and decelerated independently to 30 mph. The failure recurred several more times. The vehicle was taken to zimbrick Buick GMC eastside 5402 high crossing blvd, madison, WI 53718 where the dealer was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they would not assist as the vehicle was out of warranty. The contact also stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and the contact purchased a new battery. The failure recurred 3-4 other times very close together. The contact also stated that when attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle would fail to detect the key fob even when placed properly. The vehicle was taken to zimbrick Buick GMC eastside 5402 high crossing blvd, madison, WI 53718 who was unable to provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was unsure of whether the manufacturer had been contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Np.
This has happened numerous times. The first time the check engine light came on, I don't recall the message I actually got; but I took it to a dealership and they replaced an emission control item which seemed to do the trick for awhile. Eventually, as I was driving along some time later, the message "reduced engine power" came up; and I could feel the engine immediately start to drag. In about 30 seconds to a minute, "traction control off" or something similar comes up. I stopped to look at the manual which said to shut the engine off, wait a few minutes, then start the car and this would clear the code so that the car would run normally. I did this, and I saw that the car was operating more normally but the "check engine light" stayed on. After several stops and starts, the light went off. This has happened more times than I can count. On 6/3, I took it to a dealership because it seemed to be happening more frequently. The only thing they could find that might be causing it did not seem to be the problem, but they worked on the x101 connector and test drove it 16 miles w/o a problem. Two days later while driving to work (after driving about 20 min. ), the same thing happened again. Another garage where I had my oil changed ran the codes and found that p1125 - fuel & air metering and p2138 throttle/pedal position were listed. I gave this info to the Buick dealer to see if the problem could be fixed. The car is no longer under warranty except for emission controls, so I paid for the work. They were not sure that the problem was repaired. It turned out that it wasn't. Now, what? do I just keep taking it back and paying for things to be tried?.
Driver was on a large freeway in traffic, when the accelerator pedal broke off. Driver obtained control of the vehicle but not before the car surged into the vehicle in front of it. The pedal completely broke off and was laying in the floorboard. Car was purchased brand new and had only been driven for 6 months. Car was towed to dealership where purchased and is being investigated to determine the case of the pedal failure. No answer yet.
I believe the vehicle has something that may or may not ever be found by a test drive at dealer by service mechanic. I also believe this started before the posted mileage above but I do not have all paperwork from dealership that serviced it. Vehicle will bog down after you start to accelerate on hills, around curves, at take off. Sometimes this enables traction control light but not always. I will have no acceleration for seconds and is very unsafe as the last time it did it I was coming around a dangerous curve with a dump truck behind me and couldn't speed up because had no power when pushing the gas pedal. I also had it happen as I was passing another vehicle and it all but stopped beside the vehicle I was attempting to pass. No acceleration can lead to severe injury or death depending on circumstances at time of incident. I have take to dealer more than 3 times for same issue to be told its nothing and they cant duplicate the problem. Even I know that some cars have issues that are never fixed or found! I have contacted gm to get the run around for weeks then finally be told nothing can be done because they aren't prepared to drop the engine because it may cost $4000. If I get hurt in this vehicle it is going to cost a whole heck of a lot more than that! I do not want the engine dropped I am filing a lemon law complaint and will consider a dealer buy back but I am not dropping this because I am not imagining this as the dealer said. . . I have read same issues online so I know I am not the first with the Buick problem. The car is unsafe so we will just let the attorneys hash this out!.
Sudden and unexpected acceleration during a low speed (<5 mph) tight left hand turn. First incident resulted in crash against house wall, damage to vehicle. Vehicle repaired below insurance deductible, no damage to structure. Second incident in a parking lot, on or about may 16, 2012, able to stop vehicle with no crash. Third incident occurred at neighbors house June 26, 2012, causing crash. Damage to vehicle and garage door. All incidents occurred when lifting from accelerator prior to stepping on the brake to shift into reverse (vehicle still in drive, no braking). After 3rd incident vehicle was drivable but was towed to the selling/servicing Buick dealer. Vehicle is still being investigated by dealer. Condition does not occur every time in the same tight left hand turn. Type of turn is 90 degrees in driveways to side loading garages and into parking spaces.
The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while exiting a parking space, the vehicle accelerated abnormally. The brakes were applied but failed to stop the vehicle as the vehicle continued to accelerate and crashed into several other vehicles. There were no injuries and the vehicle was towed a collision shop. The dealer was contacted and stated to the contact that they were going to inspect the event data recorder box that was located into the vehicle. The diagnosis was that the vehicle was traveling 60 mph. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 23,000.

Quiet often, the edge of my shoe will catch on the rh side of the brake pedal when moving from the gas to the brake or vice-versa. The area of the foot impacted is near the ball of the foot. The issue seems worse when wearing dress shoes (as opposed to athletic shoes). This has raised some safety concerns for me - especially if I were to need to react quickly in an emergency situation. I don't know if the brake pedal needs to be moved away from the gas pedal laterally or if the two pedals need to be brought more into the same plane. I have submitted my concern to the manufacturer as well, and have not received feedback at this time.
The contact owns a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would decelerate or accelerate independently without warning. The contact mentioned that the instrument panel malfunctioned and failed to display the correct readings for the speedometer and fuel gauge. In addition, the sun roof was leaking, the rear passenger door would not open and the air conditioner was continuously on although the control was turned to the off position. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician stated that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the problem recurred. The vehicle was not inspected for the door or the air conditioner unit failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the approximately failure mileage was 30,000.
