Tl-tl- the contact owns a 1999 Hyundai elantra. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced engine failure when the vehicle was reversing out of a parking lot. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer diagnosed that the timing chain broke causing the engine to seize there were metal shaving through out the again. However the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
