Ball joints need to be replaced. 2 different auto repair shops informed me that they were in bad shape, and will result in wheels to fall half way over. If driving when this happens it can cause an accident.

2 Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problem of the 1996 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

There was a popping sound when going over a seam in the road. Took to dealer, and they stated it was the torsion bar, six weeks later lower ball joint separated. If this had happened on highway someone could have been killed. There was no warning sign. Please provide any further information.
