Dear NHTSA, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding a 2019 Buick Regal, which I purchased as a used vehicle in 2023 with approximately 19,000 miles. Since owning the car, I have added only 14,000 miles, yet I have experienced multiple significant and ongoing issues that raise serious concerns about the safety, reliability, and warranty service associated with this vehicle. Vehicle problems: suspension issues: shortly after purchase, the car has had persistent suspension problems, which negatively affect stability and ride quality. The dealership has replaced multiple suspension components, but the issue continues and remains unresolved. General motors (gm) initially agreed to cover these repairs even if my warranty expired and also stated I would qualify for a vehicle buyback. They have now backtracked and are refusing to honor that commitment, despite the ongoing unresolved safety issue electrical and transmission malfunctions: I have reported intermittent electrical and transmission issues to the dealer. These include erratic shifting, hesitation, and occasional system malfunctions. Each time, I have been told they cannot replicate the problems, so no repairs have been made. These issues are intermittent, but they occur while driving and are potentially dangerous. Delays in repairs and warranty coverage: the dealership delayed parts ordering and repairs for my suspension concerns until after my warranty expired. This delay appears to have been intentional, potentially to avoid honoring warranty coverage. Refusal to service due to location (puerto rico): I live in puerto rico, and both gm and the dealership have stated that they are limited in what they can do for me because of my location. For example, I was told they cannot order a replacement windshield to puerto rico, and that what they can do based on a buyback or warranty coverage is limited. I have been patient and waited for the dealership and gm to make things right for 2 years.
Front subframe rotted out where my control arm connects. Cannot safetly drive. There should be a recall on this part. There isnt one so now im stuck paying to fix it. Rear coil spring cracked, cannot fix due to recall of all gm coil spring. Cannot buy new part to fix it.
I made a right hand turn on a 25 mph street in my vehicle and the butt end of my vehicle kicked out and I temporarily lost control of my vehicle. I then heard a high pitch squealing and a thud. I was able to gain control of my vehicle and safely pull into a parking lot where my I saw my rear pass side tire jammed into the wheel well. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership classic painesville as it is under warranty. I found out that the toe link fractured due to corrosion and bent the passenger side trailing arm when it snapped. My warranty company will not cover the 1650 dollar repair due to corrosion, and the dealership will not cover the safety recall since my VIN is not listed under the recall notice. I pointed out that the general motors website motorsafety. Org provides details on the "salt belt: area concerning this same issue. 2012 – 2013 Buick Regal 2013 Chevrolet malibu 2010 – 2013 Buick lacrosse recall summary the recall concerns the toe links at the rear underside of the car, which hold the rear wheels straight. The toe links are coated to protect them from road debris and corrosion, but the supplier applied too much coating, paradoxically making the protective layer more likely to chip off. Gm has issued the recall in specific states in the “salt belt,” where salt is used to DE-ice roads in the winter. Without their protective coating, salt can corrode the metal toe links and cause them to break. The recall will include models that were sold or ever registered in the following states: connecticut, delaware, the district of columbia, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, virginia, west virginia, and wisconsin. My vehicle had no previous issues and was just into the dealership for an oil, change-tire rotation and a 50 point inspection 2 wks ago. There were no warning and the failure was sudden.

The 2012 Buick Regal consumes a quart or more of oil in less than 2 weeks or 300 miles. I am putting a quart in it just to get it to read on the dip stick and more if needed. As it consumes oil, the engine gains a noticable ticking noise with a rough start. All of this is noticed while driving on a highway or rural road. The back right tire and or tire area makes a thumping noise at all speeds. The tire is not the issue. The stabilitrak warning light comes on often . I am the 3rd owner to the car with with 164,333 current miles. The car has had routine oil changes etc by all owners.
The vehicle seems to want to cut off while at a traffic light! I simply do not understand why the engine seems to be so loud. I had both shocks and struts replaced after purchasing this vehicle. The entire frame seems to nose dive or "wander" while I am driving on the highway, totally uncomfortable feeling. Tires are basically new I just don't know what seems to be going on with this car!.
Car computer is suceptible to hacking and reprogramming while driving suspension is lowered or raised engine looses power whole car components rattle or radio bass loud while driving transmission doesnt shift to correct gear stuck on second or third and gear shift knob pops up while driving dealer says is normal brakes loose pressure taking long to complete stop engine shakes while in motion or idle radio and other components apps traction abs disabled hacked or controlled wireless/bt.

2000 Regal Buick with low mileage didn't pass nh state inspection because of code p0440 evaporation emission control system. When looking at gm recall there were 248 other 2000 Buick recalls with the same issue reported to general motors. This code has to do with the fuel system, gas lines and storage tank and can be very dangerous and catch the car on fire. I did call gm and filed a claim but they really don't care. Also there is a steering/suspension steering linkage free play. When doing research on this there was a recall (76128) and 979 people also reported this issue.

Intermittently when turning to the left at low speeds, vehicle would turn to the right on its own. When the consumer contacted the dealer about the problems with the vehicle, they advised that there was no recall and nothing could be done. * cb.
