Ignition Module Problems of Buick Regal

The contact owns a 2004 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the ignition module failed, causing the vehicle to stall sporadically and without warning. The contact would shift from park to neutral before attempting to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the instrument panel lights would flicker independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to diagnose the problem. The failure later recurred and the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the ignition switch was repaired but to no avail. The dealer then stated that the ignition cylinder. Would need replacing however, the part was not available to complete the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97650.

Engine died while signalling a left turn going about 45 mph. Almost rear ended. Changed ignition switch module. No repeat reoccurance.

The contact stated the driver's seat heating elements were not working properly. He had not noticed any problems with the passenger's side. When placed on high or low the seat got very hot. At times when the selector switch was set to off the seat continued to overheat. Updated 11/29/2005 - the consumer pulled the fuse for the seat prior to taking it to the dealer. The dealer determined that the heated seat module was faulty. The ignition key does not release sometimes.

1999 Buick Regal abs light and check engine light come on when you press on brake and intermittently all dash warning lights will come on. The brake module, connector, heat/air control display would become bright and then go dark. The dealer replaced the control head. The ignition switch was replaced.

(12-06-05) 1999 Buick Regal check engine and anti lock light came on. Consumer had to replace brake module. ** answer required*** the heating and air condition display would light up and then become dark. The mechanic replaced the control head. The consumer experience starting problems which resulted in a new ignition switch being installed.

The left turn signal failed to work reliably. Eventually, it did not work at all. Car was serviced by two dealers under warrenty. It took four vists to resolve the problem. A control computer was replaced. Apparently this repair caused my airbag warning light to shine. At this time I do not know if my air bags will work in a crash or if they will go off unexpectedly. Car manual states that either scenario may occur. Dealer service technician states that it will not deploy unexpectedly.
