Wiring Problems of Buick Regal

Every time I turn on my left or right turn signal it shorts out. . . . Took to a mechanic and he did some re wiring and it worked for a little bit then started to happen again. . . . I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it anymore. What should I do?.

My car has been blowing light bulbs very frequently. I noticed that the wire what is chard and burned and naked resulting in the wires touching each other and causing my lights to fail. I replace the wiring harness once and two months later the insulation was burnt off of the wire again. There has been 2 instances where ive been driving and my headlights have went completely out at night time and I live in a rural area where there's not a lot of street lights. It almost caused me to wreck. It's not just my vehicle that has this issue. I have three friends who either drive a Regal themselves or have a close family member that has one and all three of them have told me that they're experiencing the same issues. This is definitely a safety concern. And if it were to happen to somebody else who was maybe not so lucky it could have caused a fatal accident.

2011 Buick Regal. Consumer writes in regards to wiring harness safety recall. The consumer requested to reimbursed for repairs made to the vehicle. Updated 10/05/2017.

In August 2016, I received an "important safety recall" #30710 from Buick. The explanation was "the wiring harness for the power seats may contact the seat frame, chafe, a short circuit could occur, resulting in inoperative power seat adjustments, flickering lights on the instrument panel, sparking or smoke under the seat, and possible fire. " having not heard anything, I contacted my agency on 9/22/16 and was told "no parts were available. " on 11/23/16, burns Buick said, "gm has no solution. I contacted gm and spoke with mary who did not have an answer. On 11/30/16, gm's ben suggested that no date or supplies have been set. Do I need to have a fire in my car while my grandchildren are in the back seat for gm to finally determine this is really an "important safety recall?" why should it take 5 months without any solution? I ride in fear everyday knowing that I am sitting on a time bomb. Please condemn this failure to provide solutions to this problem and fine them so that they do not do it to anyone else in the future.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the driver side seat was smoking due to a failure related to the recall campaign which included the vehicle concerning NHTSA campaign number: 16v517000 (electrical system, seats). The dealer (tasca Buick GMC, 55 fortin dr, woonsocket, ri 02895, (401) 229-4021) placed a harness over the seat, the wiring was covered however the remedy had not been provided. The vehicle was still at the dealership as the contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer to determine the guidelines for the dealers repair. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect. Dyd.

I have the recall on the power seat wiring and my heated seats heat to a level then shut off continuously. I have a friend had the same issue in a camaro and had chafed wires to the heated seat. I refuse to pay for this repair and now in michigan it is very cold and I bought this car to have heated seats for a reason. The copied information is below on the recall. Manufacturer: general motors llc summary: general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011 Buick Regal vehicles manufactured November 3, 2009, to March 25, 2011, equipped with 8-way power adjustable front seats. The power seat wiring harness may contact the seat frame, causing the wires to chafe. Consequence: chafed harness wires may cause a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Remedy: gm will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and secure the wiring harness, and repair any chafed wires as necessary, free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices were mailed to owners on August 18, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. Gm's number for this recall is 30710.

We have lost our instrument lights many times while traveling and at many different speeds, accompanied by the smell of hot electrical wiring, I am 88yrs. Of age and my wife 83yrs. Of age and when this happens to her or myself when traveling it is a huge safety concern, we are afraid it my cause the loss of our lives as a result. We have contacted gm about this. Their representative did not express concern, and more or less stated if we did not feel comfortable driving we should park it and not drive it. We live on fixed income we have nothing else to drive and cannot get gm to fix our vehicle. The car is always in motion when this happens and happens at all different speeds, highways, and city streets. With no way to judge your speed. Gm safety recall #30710- wiring harness. Gms answer is incomplete: remedy not yet available. Please help!!!!!!! this problem happens with regularity and we are concerned the car will catch fire someday.

1. Right side cornering lamp is inoperative despite replacing bulb, socket and even entire right side headlamp housing assembly with all new wiring and bulbs in it (not the turn signal because that works and so do all headlight functions I. E. High/low beam). 2. When above issue started car suddenly started shutting off whenever turn signals where used when passing or trying to enter highway on entrance ramp regardless of if we were speeding up or slowing down. It has also happened at a complete stand still while local mechanic was investigating complaint regarding all the above and he is still not able to find the cause. I am afraid to let my family ride in this vehicle and I am afraid it will cost us a fortune trying to figure out what is causing this unsafe issue!.

The contact owns a 1999 Buick Regal. While driving at 65 mph, black smoke began unexpectedly billowing from underneath the vehicle and from the instrument panel. The vehicle had caught on fire and the contact was able to move the vehicle from the roadway and exit. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The contact suffered burns to her arms and hands. A fire report was available. The vehicle was towed to a local repair facility where it was discovered that the electrical wiring of the gear console failed and caused the fire. The manufacturer was not contacted in regards to the failure. The vehicle was left at the facility where the contact was awaiting repairs. The failure and current mileages were 87,000.

The motor dies whenever the turn signals are used. The vehicle use to start right up after this happens. But now instead of starting right back up, it takes it a few minutes. It has also affected the airbag light signal on the dash. It is often on after the motor has started. Also, in the resting position, the turn signal arm, the turn signals make a fast flashing like noise, and for some reason, all the lights to the rear of the vehicle flash on and off constantly. To make it stop, I have to raise or lower the turn signal arm about a hair out of it's resting position. I have since then tied rubberbands around the turn signal arm, from the arm to the side of the steering wheel column to the steering wheel tilt lever. I feel that the root of both problem is an electrical issue inside the steering wheel. Nothing has yet been done to correct the problem, because it is a vehicle with an air-bag in the steering wheel. And that procedure is very expensive.

Failure of both brake lights and turn signals. Emergency flashers operate so bulbs and wiring are ok. Fuses checked. Not repaired yet but was told it probably is a switch/component in the steering column.

Started having problems with abs brakes on August 1, 2004. The abs light/traction control light stayed on. Contacted the dealer, and took vehicle to them about once or twice a month. They have replaced several vbpmv module, bctmb module, and wiring on the wheel sensors, also, they have cleaned wheels speed control. When the abs light comes on there is extended stopping distance. The consumer has another appointment to take vehicle back to the dealer on September 26, 2005.

One day while driving my wife's 1998 Buick Regal when I heard a sudden gust of wind noise. I had found out that both of the rear windows had fallen as if they were off track, but these were electric windows. A few weeks later the front driver side window fell as well. I called 3 different Buick dealers who all told me that the regulators on my year model have a very bad tendancy to go out. They also informed me that the regulator for each window is $400. 00 plus labor. I spoke to Buick's customer service who said that they have never received a complaint on this, but I have found countless forums online with many people who have the exact same problem of two or more windows malfunctioning all at one time. . . This is no coincedence. Although it sounds like it's just a few window problems, unfortunately when it rains the windows fall and my wife and daughter have ended up in a very wet car trying to come home. I believe this to be an electrical problem as I have also had the wires in the rearview mirror short out and melt. This has hindered the view from my mirror as well as leaked black goo all over my console. When I told this to Buick they didn't see it as a problem. I have one other complaint that the rear seat belts are not properly done. They work and don't work whenever the mood strikes them. This is very disconcerning when I have children to put in the back.

Driver's power seat burned, including bottom and back due to a fire. Dealer contacted, and stated the wiring harness was at fault. No repairs have been made, warranty still effective.

Possible wiring problem, vehicle experiences problems with daytime running lights and blinkers.
